I think it's done for a few good reasons: brown and black communities for multiple reasons (including safety and unfamiliarity with certain territories in certain countries that they haven't had the chance to explore safely) will generally avoid woods, forests, and outdoors unless they have a personal interest or childhood experience of camping and spending time in the outdoors or wild. There are always exceptions to this, of course. Most horror stories people hear are about hikers, joggers and someone who met with a dreadful end (whether intentional harm or accidental event) and that through repeated story telling, fear mongering and news coverage of crime tv can dissuade people to engage with outdoor spaces beyond urban parks and curated botanical spaces and planetariums. Being from certain socio-economic communities or simply being unfamiliar with the opportunities the landscape presents can make it harder to form the habit to hang outside in nature. You're right that hikers can just be hikers, just like any other groups, but in order to attract positive reinforcement and develop greater interactions between community members who may be isolated from one another, it allows individuals to form meaningful bonds by emphasising a common framework of positive values. People attending know that it's a family-friendly, positive and good social group. Non-Muslims who join them may get a closer look at the community who is talked about but that they seldom get to hang around. It fosters dialogue and engages people in everyday activities that are good for health and wellness without being overly focussed on the differences. I would also argue that it's the same reason you have scout groups, mothers against drunk driving, AA, and youth clubs; it's fulfill a social mission -- to provide a fostering and supporting environment to do what you want to do. In this case, get outdoor and meet others in a sober setting, and just have healthy fun.😊

Muslims are meant to be worshipping and self reflecting intensely this month, with the Prophet (Peace be upon him)isolating himself in prayer the last ten days of Ramadan. Then you have clowns like these that think it's a month of celebration, partying and hiking. The UK has a particularly messed up notion of Ramadan, light shows etc .

@@PatatJopie No, the Quran does not say that the Earth is flat. In fact, the Quran makes references to the shape of the Earth and the universe that indicate a spherical shape. For example, in Surah Al-Anbiya 21:30, it is stated, "Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then We clove them asunder, and made from water every living thing? Will they not then believe?" This verse mentions the joining of the heavens and the earth, which suggests a round shape rather than a flat one. Moreover, in Surah Az-Zumar 39:5, it is stated, "He created the heavens and the earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night." The idea of "wrapping" the night over the day and vice versa suggests that the Earth is a sphere. Therefore, there is no evidence from the Quran to suggest that the Earth is flat. Rather, the Quran suggests a spherical shape for the Earth and the universe.
