Looking forward to this. Some easy choices: The Clash - Cut The Crap CCR - Mardi Gras Velvet Underground - Squeeze Its quite tricky to define 'final albums': Do we treat Innuendo as the last Queen album (one of my favourites), seeing as it's the last with Freddie? Or do we go with Made In Heaven or The Cosmos Rocks? Either of those would fit. How about The Doors? Really good final album with Jim, but if you count the albums after they are nowhere near as good.

The Doors you would have to go with the two following with LA Woman. With Queen. You will have to go with Queen + Paul Rodger's *The Cosmos Rocks* (2008).

@@kevinthetruckdriver353 But Cosmos Rocks says Queen + Paul Rodgers. Wouldn't that make it a supergroup? I mean yes, strictly speaking if the album has the band's name on it, let's call it their last album. But that leads us to Frankenstein's monster albums, where recordings of a departed star of the band are utilised: American Prayer, Made In Heaven, Endless River...

Drastic Plastic from Be-Bop Deluxe is great! I love this album. It's not all new wave. There are some killer tracks. New Mysteries, New Precisions and Love In Flames are my favorites. There are actually some great guitar solos by Bill Nelson. It was more of a keyboard album. Yeah, they were about to break up, but I think they went out on a good note

Thank you for doing God's work, gentlemen. Slogging through these particularly horrific albums must have taken its toll. Simon appears to have one foot in the grave as a result, but hopefully, he will soon recover. I can't possibly imagine listening to 21 boring Eagles songs in a row, but now I don't have to! I heard Love Beach when it first came out and am still in the process of recovering. From the pensive, mercurial, 'just take a pebble' to 'I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight' is not only a fall from grace, but logic. Never having heard: 'In The Hot Seat' I always wondered. Well, now I don't have to. Cheers. 🍻

My top 5: Worst Final album *1)* David Bowie - Blackstar (2016) I heard this album three times & hated it more each time. (Not counting Bowie's posthumously album *Toy* (2021) since most is re-recordigs & few new tracks). Yes, I know David Bowie was dying making *Blackstar.* But so was Freddie Mercury making *Innuendo* with Queen. I liked that album. Especially, *I'm Going Slightly Mad.* Best song on that album. *2)* Pink Floyd - The Endless River (2014) Talking about a money grabbing album. Pink Floyd could of ended with *Divsion Bell.* Nope. Gilmour needed another boat. *3)* Boston - Love, Life & Hope (2013) Pure trash. All fillers. No tours & website hasn't been updated since 2017. So I'll called it they are through. *4)* Dire Straits - On Every Streets (1991) Does anybody really pick out this album to listen too anymore?? I still listen to *Making Movies.* *5)* Golden Earring - Tits 'n Ass (2012) One of my favorite bands. Love the title. Songs all suck though. Category: Top 6 Turkey Awards (So Far) - Bands still touring but haven't put out a studio album of new material since the turkey listed. Will not include holiday albums. *1)* Fleetwood Mac - Say You Will (2003) It's so bad even Tribute bands won't even touch this turkey. *2)* Eagles - Long Road Out of Eden (2007) Even Walmart put the two released singles the Eagles released after The Long Run (not included the live Hell Freezes Over where Eagles released Hotel California single) couldn't make this turkey float in the great Salt Lake. *3)* Guns & Roses - Chinese Democracy (2008) Took 15 years & a revolving door of musicians to put this turkey out Rose. Hey Axl. Meet Tom Scholz. Both of you put out a turkey that a starving dog wouldn't eat. But it was fine for human consumption. *4)* Lynyrd Skynyrd - Last of a Dying Breed (2012) Wish this band would go into the studio & record a final album before their *THE FAREWELL FOREVER TOUR* really finally ends. Then I won't have to force feed this turkey down my gullet with tons of gravy. *5)* REO Speedwagon - Find Your Own Way Home (2007) They only reason I purchased this turkey because it came with an extra CD of live/acoustic of old material. Yeah. I paid for the stuffing. .

I just think that as a final statement, there could have been so much more. Muscle of Love, the Alice Cooper Band: I differentiate between the band and Alice's career afterward. MoL isn't terrible but after the triumph of Billion Dollar Babies, it's a huge disappointment for me. You're Gettin' Even While I'm Gettin' Odd, the J. Geils Band: Released in 1984, the band tried to carry on without Peter Wolf on vocals and it was a disaster.

Also link quality ales with Hard Rock/Meta/ Prog albums of choice. Do classic albums deserve more than 1 beer per listen. Do we have different beers for each side ...an A side and B side beers. @@ianbrown3304 for me the naming of the beverage is a part of the ritual when watching the UKC. I've been a regular viewer of SOT for about 2 years. My favorites are 'The Monsters Den', 'Friday Morning at the Funhouse ', 'Hudson Valley Square', Pete's monthly ranking segments and of course 'The UK connection'. I'm most engaged with the UKC. It's the show I've tried to participate in the assignment when I can, though I usually do not have the knowledge and expertise the fella's have. The beverage is not always a beer or ale. Sometimes it's been some high quality H2O, milk to go with peach cobbler, or a simple cuppa... When not watching this show I usually go with a pale ale or hefeweizen. It's fun to go to the stores and find something unique like this weeks selection. Oh, by the way, was aptly described on the label as double dank. Definitely not a beer for a beginner. I will include more info then the a.b.v. or an amusing blurd if the label provides it. I know that doesn't answer your questions🤓. Though I will say this, the UK Connection is just as fun and entertaining without the alcohol. ✌&🔊🎶

Most bands decline over a period. ELP is a case in point. They were a band who gradually spiraled down after 1973. But their last album is terrible. The Eagles are a band that were at their best earlier in their career. Like so many bands that started out in the early 70's they declined after 1975. 'In Through the Out Door' is not a terrible album but it does illustrate how a band can lose their vitality as they age. It is a mature work that doesn't deliver the earlier magic. In my opinion, Steely Dan evolved the wrong way. They went from being a great Rock Band into a "Great American Songbook" kind of outfit. Gaucho (it might as well be the last) illustrated this devolution. A great show. Cheers.

Great conversation! A couple of albums that I might like to add to the pile would sadly be Small Faces' 78 IN THE SHADE and Humble Pie's GO FOR THE THROAT. It pains me to mention them as Steve Marriott was one of the greatest singers ever with a double disappointment era of reunited legends that tainted his history in my opinion. With Humble Pie, there was even potential to create more solid music beyond "Fool for a Pretty Face" which would might have never topped their early glories but at least be respectable Rock with Marriott's singing still having the power.

It would feature in the what they did next column 10 places down from Smallcreeps Day. Now if they had given Nick D'Virgilio full member status and a decent pay rise, picked David Longden because he was way better than pretty much anyone else, convinced Steve Hackett that they would play HIS songs too then it could have been spectacular. How about the Indian Summer. You have covered really fine last albums, but how about artists who suddenly defy expectations? The Rolling Stones' 'Hackneyed Diamonds,' is an example of a band suddenly pulling a classic out of the bag. Then, there is Ian Hunter's 'Defiance Part I.' He, in fact, has been producing classic albums for years, but 'Defiance Part 1' really lifted him with his collaborations. So, maybe there are a few themes here - the old rockers never die thing, then the collaboration thing. Listening to reviews of 'Hackneyed Diamonds,' people are talking about Keith Richards solo projects. So how about a series on solo projects? Robert Plant? Keith Richards? Don Henley? Ian Hunter? Stevie Winwood? What major band doesn't have solo projects?

I don't think this album is bad, just disappointing. That would be INXS' Elegantly Wasted. Well, it's the band's last album w/Michael Hutchence. I'm usually pretty excited whenever they release a new album because it's usually exciting and different. This one I thought was dark, tired and not covering any new ground. I know the reason why, but it still doesn't make it any less disappointing. Don't Lose Your Head is an amazing song and one of my favorites in their catalog. But Cherry Baby is good two-thirds of the way but kind of meanders the last third. The title track sounds like a leftover from Kick, in my opinion and I don't even listen to the last four songs. It's not a bad album but compared to Listen Like Thieves, Kick, X, Welcome to Wherever You Are, Full Moon Dirty Hearts, Shabooh Shoobah or The Swing, which is one of my least favorites, it pales in comparison. And please don't ask me to listen to that album w/J.D. Fortune because I don't consider it an INXS album. I rather listen to him singing as an Elvis impersonator, which was before joining the band, than taking the place of a real rock star. Again, my humble opinion!

The Endless River is getting a lot of scorn--and I get it, to a certain point. Steven pointed out that it felt like a bonus disc without the main disc accompanying it. I think that if the music on Endless River had been issued not as a "studio album", but as a companion to The Division Bell, it would have been far less maligned. Now for the music itself, I love it. I really like albums like this--instrumental, atmospheric stuff. The vinyl presentation is gorgeous as well, and playing it over four sides breaks up the listening experience in more digestible intervals. I would have picked The Clash - Cut the Crap and the two Doors albums without Jim Morrison (unless you count An American Prayer). Velvet Underground's Squeeze works too, though it's actually not a bad rock record--just not a good VU record.

Echo & the Bunnymen's last album may end up being a rather bland covers album from 2018 (and of their own songs at that...). I could claim Gang of Four, everything after their second LP is just very very bad... Those newer Pixies albums are total bin-tier too. The less said of those 2010s Pop Group albums the better... Also, may be low hanging fruit, or non-applicable but...Coda as the last entry of Zeppelin's discog is...unmotivating, and I don't particularly like that last Who album either, but I don't care for any full albums they put out after By Numbers, sadly...
