I assure you that most people who point fingers and claim to have received a message from God about Maverick City do not actually pray for them. If we spent more time praying than criticizing or posting on social media, it would have a profound impact. Maverick City is being scrutinized because of their prominence - it's their time in the spotlight. People tend to criticize those who are above them, never those below. When God reveals things to us, it is often so that we may pray, not simply to share our supposed spiritual insights. Unfortunately, most people just want to boast about their perceived direct line to God.

Hey. What you're saying is totally understandable. But it's this reason that a lot of people will not be willing to let go of someone. God can use anything and anyone for His glory. But that doesn't mean that that person will stay serving God the rest of their lives. They may have been of help to you when they were still serving God. Lord knows where their hearts are now. God is forever faithful and even used a donkey/ horse to speak to someone. Surely He can use even a non-believer to speak to us. But that doesn't mean I must drop everything and follow the donkey or the un-believer. Maverick city were raised by God (so I've heard). They were doing the right thing until they weren't. They helped you, which is great, but our ultimate helper is the Holy Spirit. God will send people in your life, some for a season and some for a lifetime. Maverick city could've been sent to you for a season so you could be helped and latch on to God and not them. God bless you and may He be with you always. Edit: Lemme add this cos the person I responded to said my comment had no scriptural basis so here are the scriptures. But first, I must add that I'm not saying anything about Mav City, but what I am saying is we can't say "so and so helped me so if I find out they've turned from the Lord I won't leave cos they helped me." Your loyalty is to God, not the person God used. Seek God in prayer to know the truth about Mav City then make a decision based off of HIS WORD, not your feelings. God cares about our feelings but they do not supercede His word. Numbers 22 from verse 21 and Ezra 1:1. Ezra speaks of King Cyrus (of Persia - which, according to google, is modern Iran, a predominatly Muslim country). Cyrus wasn't a believer but "the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying..." (Ezra 1:1). God can use unbelievers just as much as He can use a donkey. A DONKEY! Numbers 22:21 begins the story of Balaam. Balaam was a true prophet but a wicked one (2 Peter 2:15). Jude speaks of how Balaam, like many prophets, teachers and gospel artists today, deceive people for financial gain. Then again, JESUS warns the church of Pergamum in Revelation 2:14 and says “There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality" Again, Balaam was a true prophet. He heard from God (read Numbers 22 - GOD SPOKE TO HIM). But He was a wicked prophet who did things for financial gain. Just cos someone here's from God doesn't mean they're following Him. "Many worship me with their lips but their hearts are far from me." "Not everyone who says unto me, "Lord, Lord," will enter into the kingdom of heaven." Jesus continues to say that these very people performed works in His name; cast out demons, healed the sick... All the things you can do with the power of the Holy Spirit. But Jesus will say "depart from me, you workers of LAWLESSNESS." A person can sing you out of a tough time but it doesn't mean stay under their leadership when you see them departing from the Lord. I've been there. I was depressed, had anxiety attacks almost everyday, and was suicidal to the point where I was afraid of the night cos that's when my mind would torment me and I would have suicidal thoughts. I know what I'm talking about. And I'm able to give all of these scriptures now because I had to seek God for myself after being led astray clinging to people who "got me through" (it was Jesus using them cos my mind was on God the entire time). I ended up believing things that weren't in the bible just cos "My pastor said..." NO! Your loyalty must be with God. He can place you in a church now for you to grow, learn and be healed but babyyyy... when He tells you to go... LEAVE. I have said my piece. May God be with you all.

There is nothing special about the praise and worship teams, its a gift and we are all called to be holy in heart just as he is holy. The thing is we cant court sin and not be consumed by it. His judgements are His hand of mercy to bring us to repentance and to intimacy. So its good that they have been exposed. Now they have an opportunity to return to God and be cleansed and aligned to walk inholiness ezekial 36. This humbling is God is love to bring then back to Him self than to let them perish in sin.

Yes! I’m happy this is happening. Maverick City is mixed with hot & cold…lovers with the world. Then you go on the altar singing, worshipping with mixtures. This needed to be addressed. The one member that got banned with them also knew what was going on behind the scenes, he knew he wasn’t the only one. That’s why none of them were able to convict/correct him of his ways. May our Brothers & Sisters in Christ find their way back into the secret place.

I remember when you were sharing the warning’s you were receiving years ago. It was all still very well hidden except the Holy Spirit was revealing it & allowing them to get a warning but no one was heeding to the warnings. Now it’s all out there for everyone to see & hear for themselves.

I may disagree with you occasionally, but I've been following you long enough to know that you don't just talk out the side of your neck with this stuff. Does the church idolize this group or something??🤷🏻‍♀️ They are just musicians at the end of the day. When I listen to their music, I just close my eyes and focus on Jesus. I dont really care who they are, who is singing, what their life story is etc because my focus is on the Lord and yes their worship helps me to praise the Lord with a pure heart. They disappear in the background really and for this reason im not upset or disappointed if they have struggles in their personal lives & fall short. I dont expect worship leaders to be perfect because no one is perfect, except God. Could it be that we are putting them on a pedalstool/think more highly of them than we ought to just because we see them on stage? I could be wrong but sometimes I feel like the church is looking for people to idolize or exalt and then we get angry when we realise they aren't perfect 💔

This is the most logical comment I’ve seen regarding this Issue. If we are using the commentator’s logic we should not go to church because there is fornication going on in every churches. The choir is uselessly filled with LGBT members. I’m not condoning sin but we have to use discernment and better judgment. Family, human logic that seems perfectly reasonable does not work in our faith. We are not supposed to lean on our own understanding. When we do, that's when we get decieved. While your comment is made with good intentions, we need to look to the Bible and understand God's heart. The Bible shows God's track record of not liking it when people practice a life of sin but then put on a show of loving him through their activities. For one example, read Amos 5:21-27: “I hate all your show and pretense- the hypocrisy of your religious festivals and solemn assemblies. I will not accept your burnt offerings and grain offerings. I won’t even notice all your choice peace offerings. Away with your noisy hymns of praise! I will not listen to the music of your harps. Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living." Here, its clear God is commanding righteousness. But His people were (and are) living double lives, and that brought judgement. And in Matthew 15:8‭-‬9: "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce" God doesnt just talk just to talk. If God is saying and revealing these things through His prophets its because it deeply matters to Him. His Words are not in vain. So if something does matter to God, are we to say it doesn't matter? There is also the issue of transfer of spirits. The music you consume does influence you in a spiritual way. An artist can't give you what they don't have. They will give you what they DO have. Jesus said in Luke 6:45: A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. And in Matthew 15:11, "you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth." If you are filling your heart with the ideas and thoughts of someone living in wickedness by listening to their music, what will you begin to pour out? Its way deeper than what it appears to be on the surface. What you may wink your eye at because you may personally not feel anything, will not escape the sight of God. And God is holy and jealous and wants a spotless Church. If the Holy Spirit is revealing such things like private sins of these people to His servants, we should pay attention to what is happening. We need to know and understand what hour we are in.

Yes, those with platforms need to be spiritually mature, have a deep understanding of who they are representing to the world and have the fear of the Lord in what they do 🙏. On the other hand though, we need to be careful with idolatry and obsessing over those with platforms because our focus should always be on the Lord. The Christian celebrity culture is toxic and can place an extreme amount of pressure on these folks which I do not believe is Godly.

I agree that SOME of the members have gone rogue BUT, please don’t speak for all of them. I attend Noami Raine’s church for Bible Study and I can attest that she’s a devout Christian, loves and revers the Lord.

A lot of Us in South Africa were going to their concert next month.. I love their music.. but now many of us wont be going.. There are still those "Christians "who say its art and sending a positive message etc who say they will go... I guess it will all boil down to the Wheat and Tare guys.. the wheat that will be gathered and stored in the storehouse (Kingdom).. and the chaff which will be gathered to be burned (In the lake of fire).. I remember you saying this first! I showed my daughter your video when you first shared this and we were both like nope 👎🏻 they will no longer be played in my house or in my car. Praying for them but nope.

I have a problem with the song, “Jireh.” I have 3 versions of it, actually, so I obviously don’t dislike it. Having said that, there is a part that bugs me every time I hear it, as it’s unscriptural: “There’s nothing I can do to let you down.” That’s not Biblical. Not every Christian will hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” It is clear we can grieve the Holy Spirit, who is also God. As a matter of fact, 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 says: “If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved-even though only as one escaping through the flames.” So, yeah, we can definitely let God down, and do.

She gave her testimony about the depression and suicidal thoughts she was having and how she prayed and God answered her prayer. Yet was created from that dark time. The actual verse says, God, I know I'm not the same. But you knew that I would change and I think you're trying to tell me it's okay. She has a beautiful testimony. Please listen to her testimony. It's on KZread. I hope it blesses you the way it blessed me. But she is not a part of Maverick City. They collaborated on performing a cover of the her song.

This is a very balanced take. I’ve seen a lot of videos where people are bashing the group for going astray. But no one, except you, has actually mentioned the need to pray for them. Thank you for this.

They were performing in Zimbabwe and Kirk as well, but a well known gospel artist stepped down from ministering with them.

I not knowing who they were didn’t matter to me. I may had tried to listen to them… but the LORD does/will tell/show us what’s good for us and What IS Not. It’s up to us to listen to His Words/Him message to us For us. That’s His safety, protection and guidance for us. We Have To Open Our Ears, Eyes, Heart for His message/calling/word With ALL our heart mind/body soul to gain His understanding for us. Your message is encouraging. We often hear that the prophetic is to encourage and build up but if its not a happy message, its rejected. Let us be people that are encouraged that God would warn His people with what is true. Let us be people that have righteousness in our heart that our words are filled with the overflow of our heart. Let us be people that love God above all else. And let those who hear and warn not be discouraged when the message of warning and truth are rejected. Rejection comes with it. Let us be people who dont just want to watch these videos but intercede and pray for these people and many more like them that may not have a platform but are also struggling. In the name of Jesus.

I truly believe the reason so many ( not only leaders, but everyone in the body of Christ ) is struggling with sin , is the focus of the church is church service focus instead of cherishing a real intimate loving walk with the Lord , Senserity ! The eyes of the Lord go to and fro in the earth looking for someone He can show himself strong on their behave who's HEART is perfect towards HIM ! Not them , most of us know our pastors voice better than we know the Holy Spirit, the pastors voice will not keep you in your hour of temptation but intimacy with him will keep you from falling. Amen thank you Bro, it ddnt occur to me that we should pray for them but as you have said they really need prayer and as the body of Christ we should never stand in slander but in weeping and crying to God for Mercy for our brothers and sisters. They have fallen but a righteous man may fall but he will still rise again. Lets unite and pray for them and many more souls.

I challenge Marcus Rogers and everyone else who is commenting in agreement to this to go into the Secret Place with the Lord and Fast and Pray for them and believe in Jesus for their breakthrough instead of talking about them on a social media platform . Whether it's true or not we need to love them back to Christ instead of bashing them away from the Gospel. Jesus will meet them right where they're at just like he did for everyone on here. It's easy to point out the obvious sin but what about the internal sin we have because we are all guilty of it including Marcus Rogers. The same way Jesus died for us He also died for them. Keep it Kingdom and don't talk about their situation but Pray about their situation. Much Love everyone.

You have made many videos about them and imo it's to prove you were right, not to edify. I think you're amazing and have a heart for God, but things like this make me sad. But it does edify. It's edifying to all the prophetic people who get rejected when God shows them something and people reject it and don't want to listen. It's encouraging to anybody who has said something prophetically but it took years to come to past. Remember every video isn't for everyone and everybody will always have an opinion but everybody isn't watching this video the same way from the same perspective

I want God to get the glory in this all. I want you to do all things with him getting the glory and not yourself. The title of the video is what made me sad. It just didn't sit well with me, but we can agree to disagree and still sit at the same table.

A prophetic warning is sent forth by the Holy Spirit as instruction for people to immediately repent and turn from their wicked ways. It has absolutely nothing to do with proving a point to anyone, or being able to say, “See, I told you!” We must be extremely careful not to prostitute the supernatural gifting that God has given; Only HE should get the glory (attention or recognition). With all honesty and respect given as I respond as a viewer of this is that so many people are reading there lives and the truth be told Christians are judging them because they believe in Jesus but don't live in the same lifestyle as you. If you read the Lord will guide you in your own life and also let you know about others when you have questions. The question is are they free or are they being disobedient. You can act as if you are free through him or you can pretend. It will show period. I know it seems rare for a God to free you with such liberty but if he did its theres not ours. and then people misjudge them because they don't understand how you been preaching so long and have no freedom yourself. If you do the real work of the cross you can get some yourself. If not you pretend off of anothers work and envy them because they obeyed Jesus and completed their work. If its a lie it will show period. But their are people preaching that are afraid to be free because of the public. Work out your own soul salvation in fear and trembling. Complete the measure that is given to you and a non-knowledgeable person can't do nothing with you. Period in Jesus name

What God is showing is humans put more time & care into music artists, tv shows (the chosen, etc.), pastors, priests, KZread influencers that are Christian, watching videos etc RATHER THAN READING YOUR WORD & COMMITTING ACTUAL TIME TO GOD. Faith is NOT JUST WORSHIP SONGS, it’s not the fact a show “helped you get closer to God” it’s not about thinking a “kingdom relationship” will help you get closer, not about being so wrapped up in a pastor or priest WHO IS STILL HUMAN & SINS AT TGE END OF THE DAY! It’s not about none of those FLESH things humans KEEP putting over ACTUALLY SPENDING PERSONAL TIME WITH GOD. And it definitely isn’t about spending more time exposing people for their lack in faith more than you spend time getting closer to God. Just thought I'd share, last year I had a dream about Maverick city. I remember seeing the main singer, naomi, going on the stage with everyone around her in the back. I remember they were debuting something to the whole world because it was an audience full of people. I remember they tried to press the button to set the light off for the whole world to see for what they were debuting and it failed. I remember the light did not go off and it did not work. Whatever they were launching failed. At the time I was not carrying a judgmental opinion or any opinion about them concerning what was happening. I remember the controversy about some of their members being public online but I still did not hold a strong opinion against him. When I had that dream I knew the Lord was saying that he was going to judge their work. And they would not have the success that they formally did for whatever they will be doing going forward.
