It was good until the drum line went DCI. Lost the dignity of the feel of the essence of what the Old Guard was. Maybe they should get some new spandex uniforms to complete their look and feel.

The uniforms back in the war were mismatched and not this clean. They also all used 6-hole fifes back then (not the 10-hole they use now) and their bugles are also historically inaccurate. And the drum major position was literally only allowed to be filled by the best drummer of the drum line back then and not just any member of the corps like they do today. They also most certainly didn’t march in this roll step style. So, not sure why being more technical on the drums is the only thing that bothers you in regards to historical inaccuracies. Most of those drummers with the old guard are actually former DCI folks.
