The TURNING POINT in Mark's Gospel | Beyond the Word | Mark 8

FREE BOOK download: "10 Words that Will Change the Way You Read the Bible!" www.brandonrobbinsministry.com/
_________________________________________________
So many people want to read the Bible but don't know how to begin.
It's hard to understand. Things don't make sense.
My plan is to help you change that.
In this series called "Beyond the Words," I'm going to reveal for you the history, context, and other details that will bring scripture to life in an entirely new way, and help you feel like you can understand it as never before.
This week, we're going to look closely at Mark 8. In this chapter, you'll see...
...Jesus reprise a miracle he's already done before.
...Jesus proclaim something about who he is and what he's here to do that would have amazed his Jewish audience.
...and two blind men receive their sight in very different ways!
I'm really excited about this series! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!

Best place to be. Nothing holding you down, a desire for Christ, and in darkness at the bottom so when the light shines it is ever so much more brighter and easier to focus on. You are not alone and are loved by the family of Christ! When we are weak we are strong in Christ (2 Cor 12:10.) 1) Your weakness is not by accident or God's mistake. In your weakness God's strength is made perfect. God takes the material weakness to make strength in your life. 2) There are no great people in God only weak people going to a merciful, powerful God.

Jesus said that there are two groups of people, one group:"by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive. " The second group (Jesus' disciples), "Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given." (Matthew 13:10-35).I've spent thousands of hours studying God's Word and I keep finding something new each time, I'm in love with His Word/Jesus(John 1:1,2) There are so many things misinterpreted in the churches today, ...some will send millions to he'll while they believe they are heaven-bound,...so sad. CLAIM John 16:13 when you read your Bible, you will start see things like NEVER before. Let's stay in prayer that our Spiritual eyes would be opened. amen.

The double meaning for me is, you must come to me as a child, ready to learn just as an open book. It's not just about the kids, I am to be one of those kids. I must come willing to learn and I am. thank our Lord for his love and patience!

I was a missionary in Kenya for many years. We got to know tribes in northern Kenya that would bless people by spitting lightly into their hands. It was considered a gift that came from within you. Ever since then I have seen Jesus spitting on the blind man’s eyes differently. It seems not to have caused any offense so I view it with an open mind remembering that other cultures are very different from our own.

Hi Brandon - I attend weekly Bible Study with friends from my church. I am also a part of a school of discipleship where we study faith with the objective we can promote Christianity amongst our community and beyond. I am also the secretary to a men's group where we share a Bible reading and our responses to it, how it may affect me or what impact the passage or even only one word may have on each of us. There is space for sadness, tears and deep sharing in a totally secure environment - whats said in the group stays in the group and guys are really open to being very honest and supportive of anyone who is having difficulty with anything, no one is judged or criticised regardless of what they may have done - even alcoholics, druggies or porn addicts, all are welcome and helped to change their life if they want to

Years ago I was searching for the answer of how can I walk with God like Moses, Abraham, David, and the Apostles. How can I get that personal relationship like they did? I searched every where I could think of to learn more about Jesus. Then one day I realized there was one place I had not looked yet. It was how Jesus and all the great men of scripture lived. So I begin to look into Judaism after all they all grew up in Judaism, but I had never looked into that. Now I’m not saying to convert to Judaism, but research the impact it had on their lives. What I discovered was if you want to walk with God, you must start obeying what God says to do. It seems a bit deceptive at first because I had never been taught to do that. But I decided if God is going to judge me, he will have to judge me by his own words he give to us for instructions. Wow, what an eye opening experience, it really was like scales falling from my eyes. All of a sudden I could see and understand the scriptures, they were no longer confusing. I now see Jesus all throughout scripture from Genesis through Revelation. I must say this is a never ending journey. I ask everyone to pick up their cross and walk with God regardless of what others say.

I love the prayers you offer for us and often. use them in the school of discipleship, here are the words you spoke in the prayer today Oh Jesus we come to You right now with humble hearts We realise that we don’t always see things clearly That we don’t always understand what You are doing Or where You are leading us We admit that we don’t have all the answers, You do And we ask that You will help us to never stop seeking Never stop listening for Your Holy Spirit Help us to hear the truths You want us to hear Right now To admit when we are wrong To embrace what we don’t want to accept To do what we have no desire to do To follow wherever You lead Thank You Lord for the people You have placed around us For the ways that You are speaking to us And for loving us enough to do it Heal us just as You did the man in Bethsaida Just as You did Peter, that we might see Your face clearly And follow You truly every day of our lives Its by Your grace and through Your strength That we can be truly saved in this way And so it is in Your name that we pray Amen

Please pray that I can actually go to a Bible study or a worship service. My husband and I love in a mountain ridge and most times we can't get up and down the road. God just blessed us with chains so maybe it will get better but my church is too far away so we need a closer one.

I was blessed with songs of praise and worship and these are my testimony because I was born with cleft palet condition .surgery in my childhood left me witha heavy nasal accent. I have no training nor knowledge of music vocal or instrumental. Yet in 1975 and since the Almighty Father started to give me lyrics and corresponding tunes. I shared these songs I churches.posted them on Utube. But something I had done over 35 years ago was pointed out to me by my husband and I feel so ashamed, repentant, guilty that I just cannot bring myself to do that anymore. Your videos are so comforting. Thankyou and God bless.

There is passage in the Bible saying the sins of the father will burden the next 7 generations. It made me angry because I thought it meant God would punish the 7 generations. I finally realized that the damaging acts would damage the children. Then the those children not knowing any better would pass the sin or its damage to the next generation and so on. Then I was just sad. Sin and it’s damage separates from God’s love and care. And, that is just plain sad 😞.

Like the previous commenter, I also do Bible study in my house. I live in the desert in S. AZ and I have 1 church that speaks Spanish and 1 church that speaks English, but even though I can speak both languages, I don't go to either of them, because of the current plague and because of gas prices, I'm also really shy, but mostly because I don't trust that they are preaching the truth 100%, So I stay home and have Bible study every day with my 6 year old, and I also share my testimony about how I was back slidden. Here is my testimony: I got into the occult in my late teens, and was set free, by seeds that were planted by my family and some friends and also by people online like you. I was about ready to give up. My job in California was bought by a new company and moved to Florida. If we wanted our jobs, we would have to move to Florida to re-apply (There was no guarantee that we would get our jobs back after moving at our own expenses.). My mom lived in Indiana and I hadn't seen her in years. I moved back. God had her hire a man from U-ship, to ship my things, including my 3 cats, to Indiana. I planned to fly back. After he had loaded my things into the trailer, he accidentally locked his keys in his trailer. My Dad happened to have a key that would open his lock, because he did lock-smithing as a hobby. Moving was going to give me a fresh start. I had just gotten out of an unhealthy relationship and was never going to date again. I just wanted to be left alone. God had other plans for me. At this point I was already 41. No children; because in my 20's, I was like the woman in Matthew 9, who bled for 12 years. That was me. I had PCOS. I arrived in Waterloo, Indiana. A couple days later, my stuff, along with my 3 cats, arrived in Indiana. It was winter. It was late. The U-ship driver, who happened to be my age didn't have anywhere to sleep and his next destination was 4 hours away, in Kettering, Ohio, where his cousin lived, and where he was planning to settle. He was exhausted. My Mom, being a Christian woman, let him stay the night in the room that was going to be mine, while I slept on Mom's couch. We unloaded my stuff the next morning and had plenty of time to chat. We learned that we both were single, but didn't want to ever get married. Little did we know that God planted the seeds in both of our hearts. We continued to talk while I lived in Indiana and he in Ohio, and one day he came over and we had a talk about Jesus. He learned that I was into the new age and told me that he would never get involved with a new-ager. That day, I felt convicted to ask God to forgive me of all of my sins and I promised Him that I would follow the 10 commandments and be a follower of Jesus. I felt new. I said, "Let's build a bonfire" and burn all of my new age stuff to show God that I meant it. I didn't want anyone to stumble because of me (giving or selling those new age things seemed wrong). So he helped me build a bonfire from the brush that I had cleared on my Mom's property and we burned all of the books and tarot cards and runes. Everything. God rewarded me with a Christian husband who has always been faithful. He is that U-ship man. When I was 43, a year after we were married, I conceived. At the age of 44, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Having children has always been my hearts desire, and I became so bitter that I couldn't. My daughter is about to be 7 on June 6th. God has given me the desires of my heart. I can't wait to see Him face to face.

I thank God for leading me to you, Brandon. The way you present the scriptures and give historical perspective to the teachings of Jesus and the Bible resonate with me more than any other source I've known (outside of the Bible, that is). Also, I have watched countless KZread videos over the years. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to leave a comment.

I don't have a home church. I do participate in Bible Study on Saturdays and listen to various sermons from pastors of churches that are well known. Recently, I asked a Christian friend to help me find ways to help me in my faith walk. She gave me the names of Pastors that she listens to on KZread. I am hungry for this stuff and want to know more about Jesus.

I think Shepherds Chappel would be a good fit for you. They have daily lessons on t.v. and they are on the internet too. The older ones with pastor Arnold Murray when he was still with us are the best. I learned more from him in a few months than all the church services over the previous 50 years. God bless

2x a week I set up a Prayer Station ...a table along side a main road (1 spot one night and a different spot the other night) both of which are near a stop light, a bus stop and empty parking areas to take prayer requests. I have a sign with a dedicated phone number for prayer requests. So I have walkups, shoutouts, phone calls/texts and drive ups. Members of my church have donated New Testaments, a Spanish Gospels of John, an Arabic Gospels of John, biblical color books/crayons and biblical activity books for children that I can hand out. God has allowed me to talk to all types of individuals from professionals to homeless...evangelicals, Muslims, Jewish to atheists and everyone in between.

Hi Brandon, I truly enjoy your teachings of Jesus . In my heart I want so bad to do his will but I feel so ashamed of my shortcomings and can’t seem to brake through. I pray and believe and hope he will forgive me and help me do his will and I can be pleasing before him . I know he died on the cross for all of us and that he is the son of God , and I confess to everyone that he is ( the son of God ) I guess my problem is I don’t have the right faith in myself . I need prayers and help for me to feel excepted. Thank you for anything you an help me . Sherry 🙏🏻

"How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees." Matt 16:11-12 ... "man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD." Deut 8:3 ... "He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds b of flour until it worked all through the dough.” Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable." Matt 13:33 ... So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.” Psalm 78

You open my eyes up when you speak the words of Jesus. When the Lord came to my heart it was bitter sweet. God showed me the truth of what I really was and it was unbelievable! I still repent, feel like I was satans best project! It took months of getting evil out of my life, didn’t have trouble letting go of it! I had trouble realizing Jesus accepted me and He forgave me. It was hard, I could not sleep, eat, the idea that I thought I never did wrong to realize was I wrong! I read the Bible front to end three times in a row and listened to videos and pray! I’m still learning and you are such a delight to listen to! Thank you for popping up on you-tube when I didn’t know about you. I am listening to your videos back to back. Bless you and yours
