Let's not cross over being a good father and being a good husband. His son has nothing to do woth his infidelity. While i agree he was weong and I hate Ned, it's not fair to say those are memories with his son. He can still be a healthy person in his son's life, even if his marriage didn't work out and he still deserves to spend time and make good memories with his son. His son doesn't know about any of that stuff and i hope it stays that way, because it's not fair to him. You might think your comment hurts Ned, but it could always hurt his son. There are plenty of children who grow up and have great relationships with their parents regardless how their marriage went. Let's not shit on Ned and his son's relationship. Those are not memories between Ned and hos son, those are memories between Ned and Ariel.

I want to say, for Zach, depression does affect your memory. Not only does it damage your memory but there's some indications it makes encoding positive memories more difficult and that could be why you have a hard time with it. I was in a similar position of being depressed at a young age and I have very, very few memories of my childhood.

I don't know if it's because of depression or shitty memory but i have almost zero memories of my chilhood. My family always tells me stories but I can never remember.

As someone who also struggled immensely with OCD and depression as a child, it makes me feel both wonderfully happy for Zach because it seems like his family tried their best to make his life easier and more loving and also a little sad for my child self for not having that same safety net.

Me, my mum, my sister, and my brothers all look pretty different until you get us in a room together then you can see oh yeah they look alike but keith is really just what happens when his mum and dad do one of those face meld things.

I love Zach so much!! When he talks about his childhood and gets emotional it makes me just wanna hug him and tell him how awesome he is.

Everyone is talking about how much Ned looks like his dad (he does), but him and his sister looked so much alike when they were kids! The same eyes!

In love how Zach talks about the difficult periods in his life but manages to focus on how much he actually gained from it. How much he grew. He said this in the middle school photos video too. That touches me personally. Inspires me to do the same. To 'choose fun'. And TBH guys, Zach deserves a TedTalk.

I was shocked to learn this in this episode, given how much of a positive, energetic guy he is, and then quickly realized this is why he's such a positive, energetic guy. Despite his shortcomings and difficulties, he chooses to live his life to the fullest every day. And that is awesome.

Keith's mom gives off the vibe of someone who makes a really good peach cobbler.

If he's comfortable doing so, I hope Zach goes more in depth about his struggles with OCD as a kid sometime in the near future. As someone who also has the disorder, it needs way more awareness to how debilitating it can be, as how hard it is to have it as a child.

i don’t know if he’s talked about it since but i’ve recently been struggling with OCD to the point where i ended up in the hospital. i decided to watch old try guys videos for comfort and hearing Zach mention how he struggled with OCD too really hit home for me. I love him so much.

Every time Ned shaves his face, he looks like a kid/his dad again

My 6 yo son has(diagnosed, long treated) OCD... as a parent, it’s so relieving to see an adult who was diagnosed as a kid, and who struggled- doing so well as an adult. It’s difficult as a mom- you worry so much, and it’s so hard to see your kiddo struggling. I also admire his mom, who validated his experience that it was hard. So many parents, I feel, try to minimize their kids pain because it’s hard for them to admit.

You should look up Allison Raskin, she has a podcast with her best friend called Just Between Us, and she very often talks about her childhood with OCD (she developed it at 4) and her journey to getting better. She’s now getting her masters in psychology!

I suffer from OCD and was diagnosed near the beginning of May. I went through a kidney infection that made my temperature so high, I went into delirium for about a week. I don't remember anything from that week. I had already shown the signs before, but they were so much more apparent after I recovered. I can't step one floor cracks or designs in carpets, I do most things in 4s, I can't bring myself to go in the water so I went all summer without swimming, etc. It's not very fun. I'm often very anxious and I always feel guilty when I take up people's time. I'm still trying to work through things and get a more grounded hold of it, but I think it'll be okay.

I’m 25, I was diagnosed with high-moderate OCD at 8. OCD is hard as hell and sometimes feels impossible, but it IS possible to survive and be successful. patience and love are the keys. ❤️

Ive had OCD since I was 4. It has gotten better through the years, but its still a Daily struggle. I didnt have my parents support and help as a child (they couldnt at the time because of worse problems). Today my mom are my biggest supporter and in the last years theres been Big improvements. Keep Helping and encourage you son. It Will get better and when he gets older he will be so grateful for everything youve done for him. You Sound like an amazing mother. I wish you and your Family all the best
