I remember Jeffree stating this same opinion way before Rihanna came out with her line. Cristina R she made a huge impact because she launched a huge, diverse brand, ALL AT ONCE. Yes, there are other brands with huge ranges, but they didn't start out that way. They launched maybe 15 or so colors, then expanded. So fenty, set the stage. If she can do it, then so can other brands.

Bobby Basic I don’t think that’s the case. Everyone was so excited to see this brand release a foundation line, including those of color. A lot of colored people buy tarte products, so for them to just do this just showed how they don’t really care for us to buy their product.

Bobby Basic another ignorant, uninformed commenter. You do realize not just black people can have deeper skin tones, right? MANY other ethnicities can and do have deeper complections. So your statement is an uneducated one. Also, tarte is a multi-million dollar cosmetic line yet they can't be bothered to be more inclusive of deeper shades? That's laughable. Definitely back fired on their asses, because as you can see many people, not just people of color, are irate and refuse to support this.

As a WOC myself, I totally agree that Tarte's shade range is absurd. But when Kylie came out with an inclusive concealer shade range, everybody also attacked her and said she copied Fenty. It's like you cannot win either way. There's just so much hate in the beauty community. It's insane.

I never understand anybody saying that bullshit. I don't care much about Kylie, but if she expanded her shade range after seeing Rihanna's range, HOW THE FUCK COULD YOU TWIST THAT TO BE A BAD THING??? That's called INFLUENCE, and a positive one at that. If that's the case, Rih did her motherfucking job by showing these bitches that you better show up caring about everyone, or you shouldn't bother. So, if Kylie was influenced, in no way, shape, or form can you twist it into 'copying'.

I dare Rihanna (or anyone) to find a shade that perfectly matches me! I’m super pale (fair or light) with cool undertones that are sometimes rosy or peachy. Shades on me are either way too light or way too dark! It’s not cute walking around looking like a ghost or wearing an orange face either! Shades on the light end are too light. Many more lighter shades that are a tone darker need to be added w/ a different undertone. This part is often forgotten about. On the other end, there aren’t shades that are dark enough & those dark shades don’t have the correct undertone. People on BOTH sides of this spectrum are facing the same problem! If u want to help, you’ve got to help BOTH sides!😊

I’m pretty sure he’s still making it but knowing Jeffree he’s not going to release it half assed so he’s taking his time to make sure everything is perfect. Especially after Tartes HUGE mistake I would definitely take my time to make sure you have a lot of shades and to make sure the formula is perfect.

This video really shows that Jeffree is holding himself accountable and is using his platform to practice what he preaches. I don’t actually care if he’s dishonest or not, because now his brand and channel will begin to be associated with supporting PoC and being inclusive which is ALWAYS a step in the right direction. Millions of people will see this. His reach is huge. His actions here speak louder than his sorry video. I hope he keeps this up x

I hope he keeps this up too, very convincing actually but I am a believer that people’s attitudes can change. I was once a typical white australian who would preface things with “I’m not racist, but... “ ughhhh !!! So gross and so glad I have moved past such an ignorant and uneducated standpoint. Sometimes people really just need education and exposure - a lot of racist people don’t even know that they are racist and that is so terrifying to me. Anyway, that went off on a tangent. I love watching Jeffree. He tells it like he sees it an feels it. I love the fact he speaks up for every skin tones an shades of all races. The fact that it's still not done the way it should is baffling.

I have heard of Jeffree’s past about racist remarks. I am a WOC but I am also a Christian. He has apologized. In my bible, that means he’s forgiven. People make mistakes. He was genuine with this review. I do not feel he did this video to gain new subscribers but as a way to connect with Auntie Jackie and Cousin Alissa. It may be his way of saying, “I’m sorry. I see what is still happening and why my words have hurt people of color. I have a voice. I will use it to speak up.” What more can he do? In my opinion, there isn’t anything else for him to do. He’s using his platform and he knows he has things to work on. We all do. I’ve never purchased any of his products. That’s just because I’ve been on a journey to spend less and save more. To be honest, when I’ve seen his tweets and that video it made me not want to but then he asked for forgiveness. We can’t keep holding people to higher degree than we hold ourselves. We’ve ALL made mistakes. All. The. Time. Jeffree included Jackie’s video to “reach out” I hope they can come together. It’s better to come together than stay apart. That is why Dr. King marched so that we ALL are equal. It’s 2018. If someone has done something and asked for forgiveness let’s forgive. It does not mean you have to become BFFs but it sure does make this world a better place.

this really speaks levels to me. everyone loves to drag Jeffrees name but I myself a woc have said things in my past I'm not proud of. I too come from a past of a lot of self hatred and that often times projected itself. not only has he apologized but he's making way to make a difference in the beauty industry.

Haven't seen Jackie's video, but that's a GREAT point! Tarte put enough time into the product to make not one, but TWO formulations...yet they didn't bother with a more extensive shade range. Hmmm🤔 I think she's right. This was no "mistake" and no "accident". Tarte is damn right that their apology is too late!

I'm new to makeup, and I have been having a hard time finding shades of foundation for my complexion. I'm mixed Latina and American Native which gives me some really odd undertones. I love that you champion for more ranges for those of color. It means a lot. I had never thought about how hard it might be for exceptionally pale people to find shades until another of your videos where you mentioned it. I think; sometimes, we get so wrapped up in our own challenges we don't see the challenges of others. But, your videos have taught me a LOT about how to shop for makeup and given me a jumping off point when looking, at least.

Queeen....pls thank you for the truth. You're the only one I trust with makeup advice because you actually tell the whole story.💕

IKR, I was really surprised in a good way. They 2 are literally my favorite beauty gurus.

Jeffree is one of the only people I think has genuinely changed and learned from their pasts. It makes me happy to see him demand more diversity. Love you girl ❤️

I love how Jeffree is like saying how we all should get our shade the same time as other and I saw the trate shape tape foundation and my color was not there and they had deep sand and that was not my color it was too dark and their shade are only yellow under tone love you jeffreestar🥰

I think they announced their apology and said they’d make more shades because of the anger. My personal thoughts on it are that the brand didnt ever really intend to make more shades.

Maddy Idlet ive been watching Jeffrey for a few years now and i can see he’s had character development and grown as a person. I think he has become a better person. You can’t hold everything a person did years ago against them forever, especially since they have shown clear signs of positive growth and maturity.
