    The thing about it is that if you live in a long enough you won't even desire a standard Western home because your natural culture will adapt to what is custom for you realizing that the standard of living is not a necessity but a needless luxury 🌄🦍

    A person who showed how to build on the continent and help those who are indegenous is in a Wode Maya video about Mwale Medical and Technology City. He made everyone who sold him land a partner and set it up so that they could collect passive income above what they were making from the land before they sold it.

    So amazing to watch this. I am from Southern Africa living in UK and my sister and I were brought up in Christianity demonising our ancestors but now are acknowledging the presence of our ancestors. It is real. In Southern Africa there are Sangomas who traditionally help communicate with ancestors which is wonderful. Leslie is really inspiring!

    Lol not wanting people crapping by your property is not "bourgie" and nobody locally going to think that either. It also don't have to be demonized. Its just a problem to be addressed by people with resources and ideas to resolve them. A public restroom on the beach may be a potential solution.

    25:20... its not about thinking the "West" is the best world, its about options. Every West African goes back to their village at any opportunity. But while you can come and hang out with the people in that village and play around in a "coconut hut" before building a nice comfortable "Western" experience, they don't have the option you or I may have. So you need to understand your privilege when telling people about chasing the option - because you exercise yours every time you leave that village.

  • @jaycameronofficial

    @jaycameronofficial

    Жыл бұрын

    Actually, I don’t look down on the village experience or consider the west “comfort”. It’s all about how someone adapts to their environment. Sounds like you are putting down the village experience by saying that the west is privileged 🤔 and we can leave.

    53:18 - "And we're wearing clothes..." you all could not sound more ignorant. Please be educated, and don't put out a bunch of nonsense into the global internet: Ghana: "Historical documentation indicates textile production among the Akan and Ewe peoples began as early as 1000 B.C. Kente cloth as we know it today with its rich bold colors emerged among the Asante during the seventeenth century A.D., as Chief Oti Akenten (from whose name Kente derives - “basket” in Twi) established." Nigeria: "Sanyan silk is a product from West Africa and has been produced for centuries. The Yoruba and Hausa people of Nigeria are the primary users of this silk... Several items of clothing are constructed, such as an ipele (woman’s dress or wrapper) and gbariye (men’s robe)."
