First, I love your cat, so beautiful! Second, I've worked in the fashion industry here in NY for about 11 or 12 years and everything you've said is spot on! What people also don't realize is that fashion is just like any job, the more you do it, the more you kind of hate it, even if you LOVE it. People assume that because I work in the industry it must be dreamy and glamorous but unless you're a creative it's anything but! It's long long hours of client meetings, coordinating with suppliers, factories, stores etc. When I first started it was nights of little sleep because I had to keep in contact with overseas partners who work in a totally different time zone!! The shine of fashion also fades when you see past the marketing and really see the "back of the house". I've found that I'm a more conscious shopper/consumer since working in the industry, because you know all the little secrets of production.

I couldn´t agree more! But even as a creative you don´t always get to enjoy the "glam" sides, it´s usually just the directors who do and then you have armees of grafic designers and copy writers sitting at tiny desks :/

As someone who works in luxury secondhand retail, I relate to this 100%. My friends and family think that my job is very glamorous and, to some extent, not even a real job. However if anything, our work can be even more rigorous at times because we need to maintain the prestige of selling luxury, while also meeting the demands of retail. I've often had customers scoff at pristine 20-30 year old bags at half the price of its initial MSRP (especially considering inflation), only to be furious that when we do carry the "it" bag of a previous season, the price has only dropped $100-500 since its release despite being pre-owned. You need to be thick skinned in order to work the sales floor, but to the average person, it's often misinterpreted as being snobbish.

I came across your channel yesterday, and I find it very interesting, fun and intelligent. I really like your style, it's very inspiring for me. I would love to see a video (unlees there is one like that is the past) when you talk about finding your own style. I have problems defining mine.

Definitely please do an updated video on actually finding a job in the fashion industry, more detail on what you do. If you want to maintain a level of privacy, that’s completely okay, I just love learning more in depth about what someone’s day to day is at work! Interviewing tips / work ethic etc. Would be incredible to have this insight ❤️

This is very interesting. I worked in entertainment for a very long time and people asked me what celebs are like. Mostly, they are kind and outgoing and appreciative of their fans.

I'm commenting a bit late, but I looved this video! May I ask if you have any experience in fashion buying? I'm interested in getting a degree in this area but I'm not sure I have the skills required. I love fashion, researching trends, sustainability aspects etc, however I am terrible at drawing and sewing. From what I understand a fashion buyer often works closely with the designers, but do they need to be able to draw too? Haha lol such a random question to ask, but I have no experience in the field as you can tell:)

Hey dear, no, as far as I know they don´t have to draw on the job, however at some fashion studies illustrations and technical drawing might be a subject.

Oh thank you so much for replying. I think you're probably right in what you're saying. It scares me to have to do illustrations but hopefully if I could just some what get through that part I would be ok otherwise. I scheduled a call with a student counselor at the school I'm looking into today, so she will give me some more info regarding what the program implies. Keep doing the videos you do, you're amazing girl! Hugs from Sweden x
