    YES! Howard is back! I've only seen the first few seconds so I don't know if anybody else is, but, for the record, I think the new style of animation is good, but I'm really rooting for the return of all the characters! I don't care how they're animated (or even if they are at all, they could just talk offscreen), I just want the hilarious interactions between Brew, Chill, and Grill back. Please?

    On the topic of tapeworms: Hi, clinical laboratory scientist here. I'm one of those people who test your blood, saliva, sweat, abdominal fluid, spinal taps, feces, urine, and whatever stuff they pull out of you if you're ever in surgery. The city hospital where I studied to do this strange career had a microbiology laboratory with an "O&P" (ova and parasites - eggs and creepy crawlies that live in and on you) lab. On the wall of the O&P lab was a list known as the "wall of shame." It was a list of all of the restaurants where the other scientists would no longer eat, based on the numbers of parasites found in people who'd eaten there. Lots of sushi restaurants and steakhouses. Before you think sushi can't be that bad, consider this: If just one piece of fish has fish tapeworm eggs on it, and it sits on top of a few other pieces, then they are all contaminated. Now, think of the sushi restaurants you know, and the person making sushi. The sushi chef rarely, if ever, changes his mat. He certainly doesn't change out his knife much. If one contaminated piece gets fish tapeworm eggs on the matt or the knife, guess what's on the menu for ALL of the sushi tonight, cooked or raw? Yuck. Steakhouses are a good source of all manner of worms. A lot of people who eat in them don't eat fully cooked meat (no judgment if you're not a well done kinda person), and if it's contaminated, then you get an extra souvenir of your time at the steakhouse to take home free of charge. Enjoy your new friends! It was bizarre seeing all of the pickle jars, mustard jars, sandwich bags, etc. with worms in them that someone actually fished out if their own feces. We, in the industry, applaud your determination and enthusiasm. Now, we implore you to think before you eat. I mean, we love your weird problems, but we'll do just fine without that MASSIVE lumbricoides worm you fished out of the toilet this morning after your trip to Cancun. All I can say is wash you hands, and maybe cook yourself something at home.

    Quick question- housecats can get tapeworms and other parasites from eating mice, correct? Someone told me this doesn’t happen, and that cats prevent parasites by eating the mice.

  • @TheGelasiaBlythe

    @TheGelasiaBlythe

    7 ай бұрын

    @joshk.4470 The easiest way to know is to get tested. We'll need you to get a cup from the hospital along with a plastic collector for your toilet, and you'll need to catch your feces on the collector and put some in the cup. We'll test it. As for how to get rid of any worms, we'll, we leave that to doctors. Funny enough, that Ivermectin that people were so ridiculously pushing for COVID treatment made us in healthcare laugh because it's horse wormer. How people thought that would get rid of a virus - which is nothing at all like a living worm, since viruses aren't even alive - was completely baffling.

    @@CBrown86 Cats get tapeworms. It's usually a kind that dogs get, too. But there are all kinds of tapeworms, and cats can get them, sure. Tell your friend to look up Dipylidium caninum. Kids can get this type of parasitic infection from an infected dog or cat. Cats most often get whipworms, hookworms, and pinworms, from what I've heard from friends in veterinary medicine and seen on real-life television shows about veterinary practices.

  • @TacoNissan

    The last one reminds me... I'm in a FB group for birders where they post OTHER weird things they've found. Someone literally found a large hardshell suitcase (definitely big enough for a body) overstuffed with a bit of black trashbag visible bulging from one corner...it was close enough to a body of water that it could've washed up from there, and partly concealed under bushes. The person was wary enough NOT to open it but didn't report it to any authorities and people were arguing with me and belittling me for even suggesting that he should. This guy actually calling in the car he saw is so rare...TONS of people see suspicious stuff every single day and say NOTHING, and so many missing people cases go unsolved because of it.
