lol you don’t know what two tiered justice system means. The Christlys would be considered top tier when you’re talking about 2 tier justice system. Not saying I think they are guilty but that’s not what 2 tier justice system is.

What’s strange to me is how they were cleared of wrongdoing at the state level in 2008, then 14 years later the same case is brought against them at the Federal level. Talk about 2 tiered. Sounds like double jeopardy. And the government’s star witness is the same individual who was taking care of the books in 2008, stole 5 million and got a free pass with immunity with the Feds. They paid any taxes they owed, so it wasn’t an issue with the IRS. It sure wasn’t an issue with the banks, no banks took them to court. Seems to me to be an issue with the Feds going after wealthy celebrities based on the word of a disgruntled former employee. The judge was obviously biased, with her remarks in court, I think she swayed the jury. It’s a judge’s job to remain impartial during the trial. There’s just a lot about this case that has not surfaced and I think, in all fairness, the Chrisley’s deserve that opportunity.

Good job Savannah on keeping the REAL message alive on this issue. While you are advocating for your parents, there is a much larger issue here that is incredibly important you are also advocating for - and that is American rights. Dirty politics seem to be getting in the way of the truth, and that is unacceptable. I commend your work helping your parents and so many others in doing so, and hope to see soon justice for your parents. It was certainly is eye opening as it’s true we all commit fraud but it’s not intentional or destructive or hurting anyone. We would say in our family , it’s okay to tell a little lie when the truth doesn’t fit 😀. I do hope that the appellate judges are smart in this field, have souls and will look at the case with an open honest mind and see the damages that was done to this family. 🙏🙏🙏. Send them home to their family as they are not a threat to our society, in fact they were entertaining us with their show. I am miss Todd’s mom, I hope she is well.

@@teresaashmore2533 yep. We both fought. Never took any pleas but had public defenders. And neither of our lawyers knew that receipts had to be entered as business documents. That stack of papers was our defense. Not 1 piece the jury was allowed to see. I testified. And even though the states witnesses ALL said something that proved our innocence we both were found guilty. We both appealed and neither attorney file for ineffective assistance of council. Mine said you cannot appeal that and his said, "you get what you pay for". We've wanted to do post conviction relief but that cost $25,000 which we didn't have. Same with Tesla however Elon musk took compensation packages that included a low salary and high stock options so while the company was growing he didn’t pay much in taxes but when he had to cash out his stock options he had to pay taxes at that time. He actually paid $11 billion in taxes in 2021.

@Savannah - I am disgusted by you all having to go through this. There are so many people who deserve to be incarcerated but in my opinion, your parents are not on that list for a second in any capacity. @Alex - you are good sir! I love it when an attorney presents in the way attorneys are meant to: everyone is human so having partiality or bias is okay but you should still be able to explain things in a manner that's objective free of conjecture, and your explanations are very concise for the 'whats what' and how it applies to your position and your clients. I applaud your disposition and efficacy. I am just a joe average citizen without a law degree, but I'd happily debate anyone in the legal system on the out dated, failings and misuse occurrences that take place daily. I literally carry a list of the reasonable realistic changes I'd make to our justice system and most things are things that should of been the ways we go about things from the beginning. I have to admit, I'm going to have to rewatch this episode again, I'm still unclear about what Todd and Julie were convicted specifically because of. I will say, something I thought of immediately when I heard the sentences, what the menendez brothers trial, how thee county DA's office had lost more than one high publicity case in a row (like the OJ trial) so the judge was anything but impartial and they were willing to do anything to win a conviction to avoid taking more bad publicity or public scrutiny or shame. The goal wasn't just to win, everyone knew the brothers were guilty, but they wanted to make an example and try to win back their egos as much as possible which is everything wrong about the system and what I feel happened here. I honestly don't feel the charges were accurate in the case of Todd and Julie so obviously I don't feel they are guilty which is different than my example given obviously lol but I do feel they were made an example out of. Had they not been vindicated the first time accusations were made and sued for the negligence and impropriety by that dude from the irs who was texting Lindsey, and if they weren't famous, they probably never would of gotten fed indictments. Those indictments were purely retribution to save face in my opinion which is utterly deplorable and unethical to be allowed. The law is meant to be black and white but everyone really just works in wording gray areas and generalization loopholes, its why I changed my major from criminal justice after only 2 semesters. I would never be able to dismiss my morals and integrity for any job. And in this country, theres no point in trying to change the penthouse bc the foundations have long been rotted and caving in, we gotta find a way to start fresh and rebuild from the bottom up. Voting for people rather than parties is my best idea where to start, I won't vote for Democrats or Republicans, I want an individual who is best suited to fill a placement or position. I know I'll never get this idea, its more of pipedream but I'm terrified to get to November the way things have been going. But thats a whole separate topic smhl I feel like Todd's tenacity and willingness to continue to speak up and out against injustice and inequality and wrongdoing is extremely admirable. It's a shame to think about the reality that had he never spoken up and out and fought back when the original bullshit happened, him and Julie more than likely, might not be incarcerated now with outlandish sentences for first time offenders especially. I know its not healthy to think about the what-ifs/coulda/woulda/shoulds stuff though. But those possibilities make it that much more meaningful that he stands up and with conviction regardless of the negative impact he may receive bc of speaking out. I have nothing to lose anymore so I wish I could take the heat for people like Julie and Todd. I really hope this situation is rectified and fixed bc it's just not right or okay. It is an example of how systemic failure is such an ongoing problem in this country. Idk how many people need to be wronged and treated unfairly for change to happen but I thought it was supposed to be better for twenty guilty to go free than one innocent to be wrongly convicted/incarcerated. This case shows the bullshit hypocrisy in the system and the total juxtaposition between the way its meant to be/is supposed to be and the way it actually is. Its just awful. I wish I were on that jury, thats all I know. Good luck truly, I'm not a religious person and I know yall are but for me, people are fallible and its our job to right our wrongs. Accountability seems like an unknown concept in the justice system, I hope that this is changed in my lifetime but I also hope someone from the prosecution side grows a conscience or stops denying reality and rights their wrong and if not, I hope a higher level court rectifies it for them as quickly as possible. I don't care what taxes didn't get paid if any, I am not a fan of Lindsey to be honest, I'll leave my observations of her at that, but the rest of your family are above board and good hearted folks, that shouldn't be in jail for a day let alone years. I feel like Todd would have never knowingly purposely done something that would cause legal repercussions for anyone else especially not Julie or Nanny, theres just no way I see that being true factual reality, I try never to judge people as individuals and only make observations about situations and circumstances instead when possible, but I can't ignore my gut or instinct or intuition about something and I know anyone is capable of anything at anytime BUT I just can't see Todd intentionally putting Julie or Nanny in bad legal situations where they can't claim plausible deniability and go unscathed. I hope everything works out for you all, I really do. I wish people would take the following into account: if you put yourself in someone else's shoes, its still your feet doing the walking so don't judge anyone if you yourself don't know what it's like for them bc you have never been through what they have, and even if you have been in the same situation, nothing impacts 2 people the same way twice; literally nothing. Thats why beauty is in the eye of the beholder, thats why identical twins with the same stage 4 metastasized cancer could have 2 different outcomes one could go in remission and one could succumb, thats why some people can't survive or process grief and others are unaffected by death, the list does end bc its true. Don't judge whether you know what its like to happen to you or don't, you never know when your harsh and false judgements will come back on you and you end up hit by the karma bus yourself hoping people won't judge you unfairly the way you have to others.

The worst thing that can happen to anyone is for a group of strong people who are willing to risk it all to come against you. Do not rejoice when you hear of the downfall of people until you hear the full story. It's sad how the government can turn your world upside down at their say so. They are doing the same thing to Trump right now. But it's ok with the majority because some people don't like him. The justice system will never be fixed if justice is based on sentiments.
