Blows my mind reading the comments about you sometimes. You just love golf, practice every day, put out great content, try your hand at a competitive event, don't do very well, and people hate you for it? Makes no sense. Maybe it's just a small percentage of people that write in the comments, but just know there's a lot of love that goes your way and we can see through that BS.

I shot a round of par or better in each event but have seen many days that were not good . Micah had a terrible day and people pass their negative comments around as if they have earned that right . If you play enough competitive golf you will shoot a round that is embarrassing. That is golf and why we play . Micah keep your head up and go dig the truth out of the dirt on the range and not on the pages of negative comments on KZread .

I watched your most recent video with Rick Shiels last night where he asked about your swing path and you said you're very neutral. And then in this you talked about having a two way miss, especially with the driver. My swing path right now is 1 to 2deg in-to-out and golf was a lot simpler when I was more in-to-out and could mentally eliminate the right miss/count on hitting a consistent draw. Having your entire swing built around timing the face at impact can make it hard to not have a two way miss. A neutral swing plane sounds great on paper but I think in practice it's better to have a path consistently left or consistently right. I don't know if you're working with a coach or working on your own game yourself, but to me it makes sense to commit to a certain swing path and build towards that rather than staying neutral. You've been playing great though during this series, putting has been very solid (that bomb you made in the charity event was sick) and when you're hitting (nuking) the driver well it's a lot of fun to watch as a viewer. I feel like if you could get your swing path to be consistently a few more degrees left or right you'd have more confidence with your driver and could take advantage of your biggest asset and advantage as a golfer, your speed. You really can't teach speed and you already have a great swing, I'm sure you are fully aware of this but your ceiling as a golfer is very high. During the 30 day challenge it looks like mentally you're in the best spot I've seen you and may be primed to truly unlock your potential. Hoping to see you achieve what you want out of golf.

Not a big commenter but so many can empathize with this. Know that there is beauty in experiencing low moments like this because we can look back and reflect to see observe how often we succeed after the adversity. Golf is such a hard game mentally it defeats everyone. I used to break clubs and collapse on the golf course. But as someone who struggles with anger problems, I made it a big goal this to be less angry. I am grateful to have been successful at this and honestly despite previously having a reputation for being angry on the course, my mental game has never been so good and it’s made me love the game even more. Keep grinding and be great!!

Your honesty is refreshing Micah. We’ve all had those days. People can be cruel and love to wish ill on others because it makes them feel good which IMO is a sign of weak character. I like how you put golf in perspective and declared it just a game. Your golf score does not define you as a man. Caring too much about what others think of you can be mentally crippling and you have the power to not let that happen. Thanks for sharing

Golf is definitely the most humbling sport in the world. It’s so hard that even if you’ve put in a lot time of practice things can still go so wrong. When those negative thoughts compound it’s hard to shake them. Many professionals do this but they luckily don’t have thousands of subscribers ready to comment on their bad play. Keep up the grind! Golf’s an amazing game. And you always have the next shot to get better.

I leaned one thing watching this video and the Good Good live event. Content creators don’t have the talent or time to do what’s necessary to become a pro golfer. Most of them became creators because they failed at pro golf. It not only takes a huge amount of talent, but also a very strong mental attitude.

Micah, first of all thanks for sharing this, love to see you opening up about this. It seems like you’ve identified that the mental side is the biggest thing holding you back from enjoying and playing your best golf. I think a lot of the haters know this, and imo part of the reason you get so much hate is because people just love to see mental blow ups. If you don’t already have a mindset coach, that’s where you should be investing your time and energy. You need to work out and train your mind, the same as you do with your body. Hope you get this sorted because we love your content and you! ❤

The next time someone ask how you could shoot a 86, tell them you missed a 4footer on 18 for a 85. (Famous words from Tincup) What most weekend golfers don’t realize is how much golf and tournament golf is mental. It’s the 15th club in the bag. And once a person checks out mentally, it’s hard to stay in the match. Sorry for all the hateful comments. That doesn’t make sense to leave a rude or hateful comment because someone had a bad round. You mean like Kwon who shot a 78? Or Grant who shot 79? This was a tough course, especially for Micah's game because to be competitive he has to use his distance off of the tee which put him in the woods a lot. Add to that the pressure of tournament golf as even Grant acknowledged and you can see how a KZreadr who can break 70 could blow up and shoot 86.

  • @ayo1855

@@JewandGreek I definitely see both opinions. I'm not trying to hate at all. I have even played that course twice and it definitely is a non easy course PLUS tournament conditions make it harder than your regular sunday round. So I get where he, Kwon, and Grant can shoot little higher than the everyday pro chaser. With that said, I think Micah gets hate on here cause he thinks he is better than he actually is. About a year ago he was " road to pro" yet he shoots over par or loses to a good good level golfer.

You put yourself out there and yes you make money from content but everyone gets to see the good and bad. Don’t sweat it brother you have the game you just have to get in your bubble on the course and leave the outside world outside. Good, bad, or indifferent you can never control how people react. Micah as a professional retired racecar driver and now trainer for young drivers and a 2.5 year golfer 10 handicap, hope this helps you You are one of the best golfer i have seen in KZread! Also as a person you definitely look and act like a good guy. You need to work on your mental side of the game and in any sport believing in yourself and having the courage and confidence to be the best you can be is really hard ! But everyone can achieve that mentality in sports . Practice helps with your confidence but you have to learn that in golf (one of the most difficult sports i have done) you are going to make mistakes, even the best in the world don’t have a perfect round on average! So learn to forgive yourself on bad shots and know in every round are going to happen ! And just keep believing in yourself! Your determination that you demonstrate on your videos will be your key! I have faith that if you want to make it in professional golf you will make it, definitely the skill is there just relax practice and don’t give up and will happen for you! Comments on social doesn’t say anything about your character as a person so don’t even carry that in your hart and mind! Good luck and God bless you, love your videos and i am from Guatemala not even from the states! And remember the bad days are the ones we learn the most to achieve excellence! Without them is impossible to achieve it!
