Dunki isnt only about Indians. Hundreds of thousands of Afghans, Syrians, Iraqis and Somalis have become illegal immigrants due to the situation their countries. Many die on the way. As an Afghan immigrant in Europe, this movie resonated differently amongst me and my family and other Afghans that saw it. Thank you Rajkumar Hirani and SRK for making such a powerful and heart warming movie about such a serious concept. I urge everyone go watch it at cinemas, for your own pleasure.

I was traveling back with Turkish airlines in 2017 & right when we were boarding the flight to Pakistan, there were around 7 to 10 men, all handcuffed, being brought by Turkish officials to the airplane. It felt so sad. Many of those people were probably misled by agents. What is sad is that most countries are getting very aggressive towards anyone trying to cross the border, including South Africa and Saudi Arabia. Of course, the USA and Europe are notorious for doing this. I really wish authorities would go after these evil agents and managers.

Dunki is sooo much better than Pathaan & Jawaan. I would definitely recommend to watch it

Jawan movie had a plot, had good action , had entertainment , dunki has none of it. A plain blend story where srk has no motive of going abroad . It is funny, isn't emotional, doesn't have a good plot, if it was a srk movie , no one would even know about it

Dunki is better than Pathaan but less intriguing than Jawan. It really hits differently if you are an immigrant, legal or illegal. I have always live a very comfortable or you can say a privileged life abroad, still I couldn’t help tearing up many times while watching the movie. Loved the first half too coz no other movie has made me laugh this much since 3idiots. I’m gonna watch it again soon.

Even for legal immigrants from India, it is not an easy ride in US nowadays. If you are born in India, it will take you 50 or even 100 years to get US green card. I studied at a top college in India, went to study in US on 100 % tuition scholarship+monthly stipend at one of top 15 engineering schools in US for my masters. I studied for free, got my degree, received multiple job offers and lived in US for a decade. I decided to return to India for family reasons and after returning to India, despite having high pay, adjustment in India was tough both in system and society. The country I lived in for a decade was like I had no ties with it. If you move to US in early years, its difficult to adjust back as compared to someone who immigrates to US later in life.

Hey Junaid, fan from India. There is a brilliant netflix series named CAT starring Randeep Hooda. It tackles drug problems in Punjab but there is one ielts angle which forces a certain character to sell drugs. Its not an uncommon thing as i know a few people who deal drugs that in real life to fuel their ambition of going abroad. Anyways, just wanted to put that series in your radar, easily one of the best series ive watched recently.

Are they blaming Pakistan for the drug problem in Punjab? It's just ridiculous to blame Pakistan for Khalistan and providing drugs to Punjabis simultaneously. Only one of them can be true. Khalistan can't be made by drug and heroin addicts. If Khalistan is supported by Pakistan then Drugs are being pushed by the Indian government for obvious reasons.

Just watched it literally, would agree leaving one's country isn't easy. Apart from Dunki living legally also nowadays is very difficult. So many documentation and sometimes getting them isn't an easy task, embassies not supportive at times, agents involved who are ready to rip you off your money. Watana O Watana really made you cry, no matter how bad it is in Karachi I always cry leaving it.

Dunki gets its name from Dankie (a small sailing boat) that is generally used to cross river or water channels, not after donkey as you mentioned.

I am from Iran I know many Pakistanis who come to Iran without a visa and then go to Turkey through an illegal route This is despite the fact that it is possible to travel to Turkey without a completely legal visa😅 I think Pakistanis do not have enough information. I had very bad experience while crossing border between Zimbabwe to South Africa. Literally got shot on head and chest. Got kidnapped and got so much mentally and physically tortured. Only ALLAH saved me. Say no to Dunki. I still remember when i try yo dunki my first born was only 15 days old when I say him Goodbye and leave home. While they open fire on us my son was the first who came into my mind. Even after they released i was in shock(traumatized for months). Please say no to Dunki. May ALLAH keep everyone safe.

Good movie. Great mix of comedy n emotion, super performances and awesome music

Munna bhai was a brilliant film. But i think Rajkumar Hirani's best film to date is PK. Closely followed by 3 idiots. One thing i noticed in Dunki was, Shah Rukh Khan was bigger than the story. Actually SRK's presence is so great that almost every film he's in, it over shadows the plot. Dunki is Hirani's weakest entry.

I think, Dunki is by far the best movie by Hirani. He lost his grip on editing and script flow in PK and 3 Idiots. The concept of PK and 3 idiots was very hip and happening but Dunki is a reality check. Most people don't like to see the reality, especially indians these days are not willing to see movies sans jingoism women in item numbers, larger than life characters etc.

When i first heard about the topic in the trailer,i found it completely bizzare that why would ppl try to go to Europe illegally when they can just work in India..like just go to delhi,mumbai,Bangalore etc..How deluded it is to think that u can survive in a foreign country..But,after listening to ur story,i realise we come from such a privileged background,we dismiss the struggles of more than half of our population and that is why,this movie was quite necessary..

Zinda bhaag a Pakistani movie did a great job of highlighting this issue around ten years ago. Also a great movie for that period of Pakistani cinema
