Now that I watch Ruyi and Yanxi side by side, I can see differences in words and formalities used. In Ruyi, everything is formal and proper for the time period. In Yanxi, the characters are a lot more loose and casual in their tones.

是的 在《延禧攻略》中愉貴人的判詞可以理解為「為母則剛」，為了保護自己的孩子不受迫害，她選擇投靠純妃，我們看到愉貴人面目可憎，跟純妃一個鼻孔出氣，實際上是愉貴人假裝在跟純妃合作，她自己沒有本事跟純妃爭寵，愉貴人也可以說是一個「臥底」，最後扳倒純妃的重要原因就是愉貴人的指證出賣。

Since this drama is nowhere to watch ,only some clips on u tube ,But I feel the actors are great,what caught my attention more is costumes !Though I have seen some Historical chinese dramas the couple’s costumes is so outstanding ,great work !

To not give away any spoilers, I will tell you that regardless of which show we’re watching, it’s common for the emperor’s wives to use their sons to manipulate the situation. If the Emperor cares for their son (favour), they can manipulate the emperor (hurt the child just a little and show that someone wants to kill the child). If the empress or any high ranking concert doesn’t have a baby, the birth mothers can exchange favours with them such the higher Concubine could be the Ultimate mother of the kid and the birth mother could instead live a lavish life. And if their child becomes the crown Prince and then the next emperor, they would then be the empress dowager and nobody can go against them, not even the emperor. So kids those days were there just to benefit them. If the child was not of any use to the mother (especially adoptive mothers), the child would quickly lose any favour from their mother.

Well the the perspectives differ because of the focal point. In Yanxi Palace, Consort Ling is the focus. In Ruyi’s Royal Love, Empress Nara is the focus so the perspectives will differ. Also they are telling 2 different stories altogether so they are not trying to tell the same story per se.

They did what they needed to do to survive inside their gilded cage. Once the emperor died, their lives were were even worse. Only the mother of the heir lived a "good" life. No one in the Forbidden City had control over their own lives ... not even the emperor. But his and his mother's lives were protected, unlike everyone else, who's lives were constantly in jeopardy. Because even though the emperor wouldn't kill the mother of his child, they were placed in situations where taking their own lives were a better option.

但說實在的從一開始就是玉壺在搗鬼不是嗎？純妃一開始根本沒要跟皇上好，不都是玉壺旁邊出主意還說自己一片冰心在玉壺只為純妃好，謀害七阿哥應該也是她佈的局阿，結果好容易講出賣純妃囉

Consort yu did this on purpose to expose chun guifei in the end. She knew if she sided with yingluo the emperor would think they were deliberately trying to harm noble consort chun. She also knew she couldnt protect her son and told him to later listen to yingluo. You'll see later in the episodes.

It appears to be a sign of a high ranking lady. A high ranked lady never had to use her hands for any kind of work, so she could grow long nails and protect them with long golden finger covers. A high ranked lady always had a servant helping her sit, walk, stand. She was much too refined to have to do all that by herself. Oh, in the very first episode, when the heroine is a new servant on her first day in the palace, there is a reference to the Han Chinese practice of foot binding (“golden lotus feet”). The emperor gets very disgusted and angry about the practice. The Manchurian emperors couldn’t manage to outlaw it in all of China, but the actor’s lines say that any Han who wants to work as a government official can’t allow the practice in his family (I don’t know if that is just for drama, or if it’s historically true).

Its not even close to mistress. Mistress get laid but during those years some concubine died virgin. They never had the chance to experience physical intimacy and they will be behead if they are found sleeping or seeing other men.
