I wish I had this as a kid as I was growing up when the Internet was still in its infancy and would’ve blown my mind to learn more about Star Wars, even things I never knew about. But since this before the Internet, it’s pretty impressive that it had over 400 different pieces of trivia even back then.

There was a reference book made in the late 80s that had even more info in it. That's where the world learned that R2 was an Astro mech droid, there's more than one type of speeder bike, and a bunch of other stuff.

Because of this, I wrote a manuscript for a "Return Of The Jedi" quiz book. I still have my manuscript and the rejection letter from Ballentine Books.

I remember Rusty’s interview too. I got the book through the scholastic book program at school and me and my college roommate in ‘92 would often quiz each other. I didn’t know about Luxasfilm’s meddling though.

It's obvious, he went by Rusty because he's red in the head!

As a kid I ordered through Scholastic the Return of the Jedi Sketchbook not knowing what was inside only because it was Star Wars and felt really disappointed first I didn't know what a sketchbook was and just seeing early prototypes of characters and spaceships it didn't look like Star Wars to me as a kid, then as I got older I realized it was early sketches by the Star Wars SFX creative team, man what a dummy I was.

When I was 8 years old in elementary school, I got this book during a book fair. I'm fifty years old as of May, And I can say without reservation this book single- handedly turned me into the Star Wars trivia dork that I am! 😉 😊

i remember this book. i think i went back to Waldenbooks over and over again to read it. It was a great resource before there were any encyclopedias about Star Wars.

C3POs first job...At first he was a translator for binary load lifters....his parts found their way to Tattooine where he became a project for Anakin to rebuild, and Shmi put the finishing touches on him. Grey coverings in Episode II, and at the end he got his goldenrod appearance as the protocol droid for Padme.

I remember the interview. I think it was That’s Incredible. I was around 8 and thought it awesome a kid about my age wrote a book about SW. Never had the book though.
