The fact that it was shifted from FOX TV to a streaming service virtually guarantees there won’t be a season 4. If the “powers that be” didn’t want to renew “Firefly” (even after “Serenity” made the rounds) then they’re not going to renew “The Orville”. Perhaps Seth will crowdfund an actual movie or three. And I’ve already cancelled Hulu FYI because I don’t pay to have multiple commercials on a streaming channel.

We need ten seasons!! This is the greatest show on TV, and yet, it faces extinction after only three seasons. Has nobody learned from Star Trek in the 1960s?? This kind of thing should not be cancelled, it is great and needs to stay!!

We need as many seasons as many Seth MacFarlane is willing to make, and the reason is quite simple: as soon as he finds that it's no longer a good idea to continue, he should stop. And he would, because he's good at what he does. With some TV series, we wish they had stopped at a certain point... That said, The Orville has a couple more seasons in it, I'm sure of it!

It is fine, but it is in no way the best. The best scifi right now is The Expanse. You may not agree...which is why saying thing like "the best" is so subjective.

The expanse is realistic and more dark scifi and Orville is more of family friendly light humor show both very good. I binged watched Expanse all season bc I wanted to understand what's going on but orville I watch 4 episodes a day during dinner for some light humor me time. Orville reminds me of Next Generation

The orville has scifi like attributes. Not sure how you can call it a scifi show. Its primary basis is comedy. It also lacks any cultural growth from the current state of western culture. Which is not something you would attribute to scifi.

What's messed up is the fact that I have been a lifetime Star Trek fan. I loved the positive future it represented. Unfortunately Star Trek has lost it's way. It's no longer great scifi stories with positive morals but violent dark hateful crap. The Orville gave me hope. Now that hope is being taken away again. I'm sick of it. PEOPLE NEED THIS TYPE OF SCI-FI!

Very few franchises have been saved by the fans, most notably the original Star Trek. It was saved by the fans. A few others have been saved since that time, even if only to give it a proper conclusion. (Jericho comes to mind) So we the fans must act. We can save the show!. The Orville is the heir apparent to Star Trek.The Orville has all of the hope and great story telling that we have come to know and love thru Star Trek's many incarnations, From TOS to ENT, We need the Orville to live. We need hope.

I love this series. I live in Scotland, so Hulu isn’t really an option, but my wife and I have watched every episode on our Now box and loved every minute of it. We were so disappointed when we went looking for season 3 after we finished watching seaon 2 and there wasn't one and have been hoping a third and subsequent seasons would be made. We can't let Hulu do to Orville what Fox did to Firefly. It was set to be long lasting, but never got the chance. Orville needs to have the chance to show its longevity. To quote a captain of another well known star ship, "Make it so."

So based on what Im hearing, it seems like they made a sort of "ending" probably resolving the conflicts with the Krill and the war with the Kaylon. If the third season does about as well as expected then we don't see a 4th season. If the 3rd season pops off and does really well then I think we can definitely see a 4th season. Plus, it looks like the 3rd season is going to be a lot more serious, so hopefully that helps it. It has a LOT of potential between the Krill and Kaylon as antagonists, and the improved CGI.

I actually subscribed to Hulu just to watch The Orville. I like that it is not just real life situations in a sci fi show, but it is also intelligent. Also, the humor is, for the most part, real life humor, just like a group of close friends. And let's be honest, 400 years from now, humans will still be acting like that. That is why I love the show... It's REAL.

Just ordered my t shirt and I work in Santa Monica and have some customers that worked on the Orville so they'll get a kick out of seeing me with my shirt on and hopefully people from HULU will spot me too!! Thanks for an awesome video, I'll be writing my letters too.

Omg. Please renew this show. It is the best sci-fi show. My family loves it. We make a night of it everytime we watch the show. We rewatch alot!

Feels like when fans had to petition Amazon to adopt the Expanse.

I think The Orville is more in the tradition of the original Star Trek as Roddenberry intended it than ST's latest efforts.

We love this show, just over the constant cancelling of great scifi (Eureka anyone). This show is funny, compelling, thought provoking, all without way too much sex and foul language. It is escapism at its best. I hope it comes to Australia in a decent time.

Thank you for this video. it opened up my eyes that I didn't realize it was up to us to keep the Orville going. it makes sense that it would be up to us where the ones as your video said we're the ones that pay hulu In August I I started my subscription to.i have been watching the 2 seasons. I'm already hit that check mark In my letter I can even say that I just subscribe I'm glad that they mentioned that it can happen.

Stressing the importance of real mailed letter is the most important thing you guys have stressed - the art of letter writing has taken a hit - thus the power of letters is very important.

I still love Orvill. It was very on the nose with what they wanted to say, but i found this comedy space-opera so refressing and honest. All other space-operas try to be serious so hard they forget how goofy the plot, science and etc. in them are.

why does everyone keep saying that? IT’S NOT STAR TREK!. Why can’t you people let it be it’s own show? This is probably one of the reasons why McFarlane isn’t fighting for the show. He wants to make his own show and people are basically saying he’s ripping off Star Trek. No he isn’t. How would you like it if you created a show and everyone around you kept saying “Hey! That’s just like that other show! Let’s judge it by that shows standards even though that’s not fair!” McFarlane is probably feeling trapped into writing

Nothing wrong with that, a truly great early sci-fi show used as an inspiration for the best modern day one, that's not insulting, it's a tribute to how great Seth and the cast have made it. I hope Seth and Hulu give us at least another 3 or so seasons, then onto the movies!

@@alienlife7754 No it's not star trek, but it is more trek than any show or film using the Star Trek IP in the last decade. This is the core of what Trek actually is. I've only recently started the show and i'm already halfway into S2 and this is the kind of sci-fi I have missed, it's a real breath of fresh air. Plus, it's produced by Brannon Braga from Star Trek and many actors from Trek have shown up in cameos and as main cast memebers, in the case of the Doctor. The Orville could easily fit in with the Star Trek universe, it's set in the same time period, uses the same technology, minus teleportation, and the union and federation have the same hierarchy and basic rules of engagement. Yeah it is its own thing, more 'human' with it's cast and more lighthearted, and it doesn't shy away from referencing modern shows and tech, but that is really where the shows diverge. We never get utopian sci-fi shows anymore or philosophical sci-fi shows that leave the moral judgement up to the audience. Trek did both of these and the Orville is taking up that mantle. It's like Seth McFarlane decided he didn't like the way trek was going so decided to make his own version - with blackjack and hookers ;) I hope it has at least 5 seasons!

"Seth Trek" understands what makes great Sci-Fi: *Exploring the social implications of technology.* Something that Star Trash: Disaster and Star 'Tard: Picard failed to do by becoming dumb action schlock and treating you like idiots. ST:TNG, DS9, and _The Orville_ (more or less) respect your intellect.

The Orville has really filled that gap from Star Trek The Next Generation for me, sincerely hope we get a lot more! Especially with the direction Star Trek (even Picard) has unfortunately taken which is my personal opinion.

At the very least, sign the petition. I did. I love this show. It needs to stay!

If Seth is doing it, I am committed to watch even if there are 20 seasons. I love star trek. I love Orville more.

Coming here after signing the petition. One of my favorite episodes was the world that votes. Glad they touched on it slightly in the end but I honestly think Seth started the Orville to get the Star Trek franchise rolling again by creating a competitor. Now that things are in full swing for Star Trek Seth may be letting The Orville go without wanting to be "the bad guy".

I've never been a fan of star trek or star wars.. but The Orville has heart, at first the characters felt out of my reach, but at the end of the day they are still human beings, only living in a distant time, despite our vast differences, we are all still the same. This show has made me laugh and cry at the same time. it's one of the greats out there. Please, do not stop this series anytime soon.

I would have wanted The Orville to have had the opportunity to at least team up once with a fellowship called The Wilbur! I just think that this would be the Wright thing to do!

You sent pickles last time send cherry bombs this time. Take a jar of maraschino cherries and drain the juice into another container and refrigerate. Fill the jar of cherries with 90 proof grain alcohol. The jar will turn white, refrigerate until it turns clear again, usually a week then drain the alcohol out and put the cherry juice back into the jar. It's now ready to serve, some bars charge $0.25 a cherry. Maybe after that we'll get a run like SG1 lasting 10 yrs.

So this is essentially the same situation fans were in with ST OS and Ash vs Evil Dead? Well, neither of those shows got a fourth season, but who knows? I mean Family Guy was canceled back in 2002 and lo and behold fans got it back for another couple of decades. But shows like Orville, if they are brought back are usually brought back with a reduced budget and a Futurama level drop in quality. Honestly its been so long I almost forgot The Orville had another season coming.

I love The Orville. I loved Star Trek TNG, DS9 and VOY and I think The Orville is much more fun than the newer Star Trek series. I really hope we'll see more seasons of The Orville. But I honestly think it would be best for the series if it can come to Netflix (if possible). Here in the EU it's still the biggest streamingplatform with most content and most members. My husband and I have Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+/Starz but we still watch Netflix 90% of the time, it just has the most content for us. In The Netherlands (my country) not a lot of households have more streaming services than Netflix, most only have Netflix. I think it's the same for most other countries in Europe. So if The Orville wants to reach more viewers it's best to come to Netflix imo, if it's possible money wise and rights etc. I don't have any knowledge about those things.

The Orville is the best SciFi since the Star Trek shows of the 90's and early 00's. Seriously, the rehashed Paramount+ shows aren't the same. I need the Orville.

We now live in a time where they make everything dark. I am afraid renewing it at this time will simply ruin the show. I really like the show. Yes, it's still the series we need and it's also a tall order for the creators.

This is definitely one of the best television series ever made in my opinion. It definitely has heart, and humour, and is so well written that it just sucks you in. The only other comparitive sci fi show i can think of with such heart/humour/good writing/and GREAT characters is/was Firefly. However i think it might be harder to make a fourth season of this show for one big reason, CBS own the Star Trek television rights and have been busyat work lately expanding the franchise with new TV shows hitting the airwaves and several other new projects in the works too. I think they will apply pressure on Seth Macfarlane and his ptoduction company to end The Orville as a "competitor". As good as Orville is, and it is bloody good indeed, it must be noted how much of a "rip-off/copy" it is from Star Trek. Now, I fully realise that The Orville is a love letter to Star Trek and in many ways it is better than just about any of the Star Trek shows and it isn't affraid to tackle hard hitting subject matter (although star trek too is known for this attribute). The crew all have shirts that are colour coded to their operational sections (Science/Medical, Security, Command, and Engineering). The orville is a ship within the "Planetary Union" which is pretty much another term for "United Federation of Planets". These are the most blatent points that could be contentious for The Orville moving forward as CBS step up the growth of their franchise like never before in this new age of platform streaming. It is sad...as I said, in many ways orville is much better television than any of the trek shows (especially that truly horrible horrible show "discovery") as it seems closer in line to what Star Trek originally was. Three seasons are just not enough for the great potential this show has.To borrow a phrase from the vulcans, I do thoroughly hope that it "Lives long and prospers."

no one is watching woke trek. Doesn't matter what they do that isn't going to change as long as CBS intends to run it into the ground.

Well, they could always NOT air the show on a streaming site and air it on TV where more people will have access to it. Plus they need to be more reliable when seasons release.

I loved this show, then it disappeared from my TV and I found out about 6 months later that it was on a different service that I don't have.

My boyfriend hates it, but I like it. Liked Seth in "Enterprise" and his singing. Good stories too.

Please dont take this great show from us Mr MacFarlane!!! it is a fantastic show and really brings me joy.

I truly believe that FOX's executives are a bunch of Melvins. They need to be given a pretty ball to play with and have decisions on programming taken away from them. How anyone with even a modicum of intelligence can't see that the Orville has epically historical potential is unbelievable.

It eases you in by making you believe it's just a comedy and taking the pss out of startrek so because you don't like star trek you watch it and then bam, a couple episodes down you realise it's the most engaging, genuine, and amazing show you've ever seen, and definitely the best space TV show you've ever seen. We need this show for sure, but let's just hope our thirst for the show doesn't drag on enough for us to see it's downfall

The Orville has great effects, but sometimes I'm not sure if it's a silly comedy or a serious drama. It does both in every episode. I'd like it to be a little more serious and a little less comedy. It's not as good as Firefly, but it is a show that I like to watch. I hope it keeps going.

I only saw this video today but I had already cancelled my hulu subscription around the time delays for The Orville was announced.

Everyone is trying to update Star Trek for a modern audience. Big explosions, flashy lens flare, conflict, darkness, hate. They took Star Trek and got rid of what made it beloved: Hope. Then came Orville and showed a new Star Trek is possible. Orville is more like Trek than modern Trek.

This is the only show i could watch with Seth Macfarlane in it. Its the only show having a chance with him being endeared to my tastes.

the problem with the Orville is that it is limited to streaming ONLY, when it was on FOX they had reruns and advertisements and a chance to grow the audience ,BUT, now that it is LIMITED to JUST streaming, the audience has ben reduced **SEVERELY** , this is just a guess, but, i am guessing that the audience has ben cut by MUCH more than half, i would guess by about 75%, which is too bad, because this is a great show, the same can be said for FAMILY GUY ,again, audience loss and advertising loss and no more reruns or adverts...ect, to grow the audience and the brand, limiting them to JUST HULU was a **BIG BAD MISTAKE** .
