because of the game's popularity they have no choice but to serve the fanbase at the conventions. it would be disrespectful not too.
People say that back in the day there were no microtransactions, but back in the day most games were either single-player (i.e. no server costs, or needing a constant team to patch bugs or maintain multiplayer features), or the studio would have sequels coming up. There was always a somewhat predictable cashflow. Buying a game for $60 eight years ago as a one off and thinking the company can maintain overheads without subsequent cash inflows is a bit naive. If the game is expected to go the distance - exist and operate for a decade - then you can't expect to use the same business model as the old fashioned "buy a game, play it, move on to the sequel when it comes out in two years." I just hope any microtransactions don't ruin the spirit of the game. Anime catboy skins doing funny dances on dead PMCs and whatnot.

sounds about right. didnt realise they would have such massive thing, but then again... games need massive amounts of money to make and 15mill isn't rly that big in gaming industry nowadays.
I rather have a clickbait tile and a sober content than the other way around.
I’m sure that if you dig out the sources of the debt, it will be easily related to other companies owned by bsg

Since BSG is privately owned I would not know how to get ahold of that info other than becoming an investor in BSG myself. At that point though, I would not be able to share that info. I would love to know the answer though.
