The Truth About Puerto Rico's Tax Program

I have lived in Puerto Rico for 3 years under the Act 20 incentive program. This allows business owners to pay a flat rate 4% corporate tax if you export services from the island. Today I share what my experience has been, and the truth about Puerto Rico's tax program

According to "Flipping Mastery TV" channel, he said a minimum $250K taxes for single/married no kids and $500K taxes for married with kids. Otherwise, it is not worth the tradeoff to move to PR. It does make sense since you would have to factor in the following things ($10K annual donation to non-profit charitable, $5K annual report with Government of PR, must purchase real property in PR within 2 years, property tax once you own a home, high sales tax, high food cost due to shipping, and other negative issues).

As a person born in Puerto Rico who has lived outside of Puerto Rico for 53 years but still has Family there i think that your video is a bit insulting First of all i learned to be shocked over people not honoring the Word in the United States 11 we moved here compared to Puerto Rico where it was always Word of honor secondly One of the problems Puerto Rico has suffered from is the vast use of drugs by americans so that the drugs are brought into Puerto Rico for easy Access into the United States and they recruit Young naive Kids to do the dealing and facilitating for them but keep in mind the problem is the vast unhappiness in the United States which creates a Market for drugs that are funneled through our little island and creates these problems Another issue which recently was up before the US supreme court is that social Security checks and disability checks can be far lower in Puerto Rico simply put because it is not a state or in other words because americans stepped in there and took it over from Spain by Force and never let it go So why not continue abusing Of Puerto Rico As far as corruption goes i live in the Miami Fort lauderdale area and i could tell you i have seen so much corruption and i know all the politicians here firsthand i have their private numbers they visit my home and i could tell you that most of them are pigs and let's not even talk about the judicial system where there's completely no empathy at all when they're screwing you like your accountant did to you back in Puerto Rico Puerto ricans have a Heart and if you treat them well they'll be your best Friends and maybe you need to consider that and you do seem like a nice Guy but just the way that you speak is enough to insult a puerto rican like myself who's been away from the island for that Long One thing i noticed after moving from south beach into Fort lauderdale is how rude so called white people are even though I'm wider than most of them but hispanic and how i can see that rudeness clashing with the africanamericans who no matter what you May want to find in them as in flaw They are funny humorous and you could have a conversation with them and a Heart to Heart even but that is hardly ever possible with an American who just ignore you sometimes when you're trying to talk to them Are things inefficient well if you have corrupt politicians all over the United States and in its colonies and corruption everywhere and drug dealing controlling things yes and the United States could do plenty with the FBI the CIA and other agencies to improve on that but you have to start by acting in good Faith and letting a puerto rican have the same social Security check and benefits when they Move From New York for example or Miami to Puerto Rico I have benefits for my mom in Miami that sadly i cannot take her to Puerto Rico even though she would prefer living there and she was born in the United States to cuban parents and raised partly in the United States and i could tell you that when you speak of Puerto Rico her eyes water as did my father's because of the kindness and Love that most of them bring to you As far as crime goes i don't know who the Hell you think you're talking to because here in the US what happens is americans hide crime That is a non hispanic non african American non haitian trait in other words americans that are allegedly white hide what is going on and i haven't covered a series of things in my own neighborhood which were completely covered up including murders home invasions and car thefts a 3040 cars a night in an upscale neighborhood of Fort lauderdale and nobody hears about it and guess what even the Press here is compromised in Miami it's even worse I would feel a lot safer being in Puerto Rico because there you Hand over the money and they just won't shoot you for the fun of it

It’s called island time, the reason why things don’t get done quickly on the island. And yes there are crimes there like any city and town in the mainland. The people that leave is understandable. The culture is different, and the island time is enough for anyone to leave. I have seen and heard of many successful people that make it and wouldn’t change a thing. Their main concern is the island becoming a state. And those benefits going away. For me the island time is enough for me not to go there. Unless i am retired.

I do also have to say that i feel bad that your accountant stole money from you if that is what actually happened but i can tell you that in the United States One thing i've experienced like i told a judge One day in court when he was pointing out and insinuating that i parked a little bit far and that's why i was a couple of minutes late and that he said i should be careful with what he meant to be the african americans in that area And i responded that what i've learned is that in the United States more often than not you get robbed for years and then after you get robbed at the end of many years you have to go into court where the judges themselves are seeking to help the big corporations and injustice most of the time just look at what's going on with Donald Trump like him or not The cases have some outrageous sides to them and some attacks on the former president that clearly are combined purposefully timed and which should have been brought Long before if they are even legitimate and let's not even go into things like the ridiculous valuation over his home in palm beach that the judge came up with But they won't send the judge to jail for what is obviously ridiculous or take his license away and disbar him for what is obviously abuse Yes in the United States i've learned that you could be working for years and people will Rob you of what you made at the end of all those years and what we see that goes on over here with Family and the elderly is incredible and the abuse that is brought upon them so Their wealth can be stolen from them regardless of what happens to them after that I don't think Puerto Rico is a place for someone who's just trying to save some money on taxes but it has to be for somebody who has an interview and Passes it and it should be subjective and i think someone like you should not even be allowed there because just the way you speak with a complete utter lack of knowledge of the culture and probably you don't speak very good Spanish and i see your Focus which is just to speak in a hurry and all that which is not conducive in any way You for sure i wish my parents would have never left that island And by the way my Family like i said were originally cuban and they were very Business savvy and they fit very well in the United States but then again how could anybody fit well with other people that are doing the same thing in areas like Miami and Fort lauderdale you see there's no honor among a certain type of person at least in Puerto Rico there is a vast majority that have a wonderful Heart And of course that's something you're never gonna seein your case

For someone who wants to travel but benefit from PR, spend Jan1- end of May in PR; then there's just 34 days left that you have to be there. If there's a hurricane, leave. If you want to go on vacation, you have plenty of time. Summer in northern Europe as it's cooler. Uber everywhere, car is just expense, risk, parking, repairs due to their potholes, tolls (maybe find a local you trust for longer trips, maybe someone who knows the rainforest that you can hire as driver/guide.) I'd like to live in a condo near the beach, some are affordable; worth buying in the $180k range and some rent for under $1k (not Dorado, lol.) I saw a small house for $27k in the middle of nowhere, someone could buy that and rent a condo in a place they like if no affordable condos are for sale. If I hit my minimum goal range, I can't do it this year; about double that is the minimum for PR. If I hit a big goal, I'd have to move to PR so I can earn enough to cover the taxes (if I earn it in US, I'd be taxed on the money I'd be earning just for paying taxes; mind you this is money making money.) I'd still have to set taxes aside to prevent owing taxes if I lost some, but once paid I could put that money back to use. I wonder if they'll extend the 0% capital gains.
