You are right tht God has placed you there for a reason. Embrace the uncomfortable, there's a lesson in the season.
Hi, new here 🤩 Moved from JHB to CPT almost 6 years ago and it is a massive adjustment. I don’t make friends easily so it’s been a challenge. But you will find friends, just get out often. If the loneliness gets too much, DM and we can go and get coffee 🤩

Thanks for the upload Lolly! Well done!! I first came to Cape Town on a vacation in 02 with a large group for my 40th birthday. Because of the size and type of vacation I wasn’t able to mingle with the local people, but I REALLY LOVED THE OCEAN VIEW, and I made myself a promise to revisit Cape Town. Was born and grew up in Trinidad and Tobago and migrated to Brooklyn Ny at 18. Now that I’m getting ready to retire, I continue to look at the ocean-view homes that are So beautiful. One of the biggest concerns I have about moving back to TnT is(among other things) increased number of crime. Love to hear comments. 🙏🏾 19:14
Hey, I moved here (CPT) FROM JHB Last year and shame, i agree, people here are cold, i still dont have friends LOL, I go to work and come back, good luck doll, God put here for a reason. Trust me you are not alone.

In the process of making the move to CPT from Pretoria soon! As exciting as it is daunting and, oh wow is rent expensive 🤣 Sorry to hear how much trouble you had adapting to life in the city, my sister. Never nice to feel out of place of that your life is sorely lacking something, but take solace in knowing that it's an experience that is shaping you and teaching you things about yourself that you might otherwise not have known. I tend to be a lot more introverted than they way you describe yourself, but I will obviously need to make some friends, so hoping to make some sooner rather than later 🤣

It gets better after a year. I remember staying there and hating it on the first 10 months but after staying there for almost 2 years, I had a good community and I didn't want to move back to Joburg but work forced me.

I don't know maybe it's because I'm a guy but I've made friends with some Belgium guys when I visited that side, we clicked rite away at Clifton beach coz we were comparing SA beers and European beers, but the language thing was the issue coz they couldn't speak proper English and I couldn't speak Belgium. I don't get easily bored coz I like my own space and been by myself but I noticed Cape Town you can go mad with loneliness, the Uber driver said to me I should hang out at Khayelisha to mingle with people next time I visit there...

Use this time to bond with yourself, find your inner being, go for spa, go to nature, to the beach, record beautiful memories and build your channel at the same time while exploring, learning different cultures. While u having fun, more fun things will get attracted to u, you could find even your soulmate in those moments 🙈 I just wish I were u there😂 Enjoy. I'm loving your channel💚

Hi Lolly. Found myself here as I have been doing reaserch on the adjustment of moving from JhB (I'm in PTA) to CPT. This is very insightful. I must say I'm quite scared because I think I survive better with a community around me as well and I dont make friends quickly. I'm due to move to Cape Town soon and already I can tell from this video that I need to find hobbies and commit to them or else I will be frustrated. If anyone wants to start a Gauteng community please I'm available 😂🤣

I moved for Cape Town to Pretoria a month ago and I can relate. I am an introvert and for the first time in my life I feel so lonely. The language is a barrier, I would like to explore but sometimes I will be asking people for directions and struggle to express myself because I speak Xhosa. Sometimes I just nod and or smile when someone say something coz I don't understand, Its unfortunate sometimes people assume I am stuck up because I don't talk much.
@lifewithlolly

I can definitely understand, especially the language barrier... Pretorians dont speak any Xhosa or Zulu🤭 but the longer you find yourself around them you will start to learn it a bit because like you said they are very friendly people and they will always be willing to help you! I think you will love it there! All the best ❤

I am confused there is many Black people in Cape Town now, was not that many during 80's and 90's. People of Cape Town are actually friendly but are overwhelmed by people from JHBG, whom come across as more in your face., though its actually that people from JHBG are more confident in their approach. I moved to the UK and had no friends, i took it upon myself to invite people out for lunch at work and made friends that way.
I’m visiting CT this year… would be lovely if we met up if you’re still in Cape Town. Looked for you on IG and couldn’t find you. DM if you’re open to it💞
