The Truth about KDP Expanded Distribution

Is expanded distribution through Amazon KDP worth it? Well, if you don't mind limited use of the massive reach of Ingram Book Group, then KDP expanded distribution is for you. But, you can use other avenues like IngramSpark, Draft2Digital, Lulu, and Blurb to reach all of Ingram Book Group's distribution.

Thanks, Godwin. When authors have options, I want them to know. Too many people restrict themselves to KDP when they could be taking full advantage of other avenues while still using KDP.

You lose if you choose expanded D, because in order to reach even a profit (most of the time it's ZERO) then you have to raise your price on the Amazon normal KDP side. It's already tough losing 40% of normal KDP Amazon so why risk it. Sellers just remain safely on normal KDP side IMHO and I agree with dale.

Correct. My book is massive (450 pages), when I clicked on expanded distribution it automatically raised my book price from 42.95 to somewhere around 49 or 50. Thank you for sharing this!
