The best way to fight bed bugs is not with an exterminator of any type. 90% of the time the exterminator WILL NOT get rid of the bed bugs giving them another chance to charge you for re treatment.The best way to eliminate these little demons is by yourself. This will take many weeks to a month, will cause some anxiety and stress and maybe a few sleepless nights here and there, but if you stick to it, you will win the war, and eventually have a bug free home. Lets start off with the very first step to getting some sleep at night in an infested home. START WITH THE BED/s. Once you have secured these, the bugs can not feed and eventually die off, but this method alone can take up to a year as they can survive (im told) up to a year without feeding, so I will have another option later on for you. Wash all linens, this includes the pillows themselves. Everything MUST be washed and dried at high heat. Heat will kill them almost instantly. Washing with cold water does nothing as they can hold their breath for a very VERY long time, and soap only kills a small amount of them for some reason, it never gets them all. Now you will need to break down the bed, including all drawers if your bed includes these. Also make sure to wash all cloths that were in the bed room/s. You will need to steam the shit out of every nook and cranny of the bed (including the box board). These little mother f!@#$ can squeeze into the smallest of cracks and crevasses. I do stress that you be VERY thorough about this part, because this is what is going to let you have a good nights sleep, because bed bugs often don't wander far from their source of food. Once you are sure you have treated every square inch of the bed with very hot steam, you now need to apply bed bug covers to your mattress and pillows. These can be bought at any store like a Walmart, if you don't have one of them in your area, you can just go to a store with anything that has a home section. These covers stop things from getting in OR OUT in case you may have missed any bugs while steaming. Next you will need to get traps for the legs of your bed. If for some reason you just lay a mattress on the floor.... I suggest you go find a box board and frame with legs or this will not work for you. Traps can be hand mode but most you can order these traps online, or once again buy them from Walmart or any store equivalent. For the home made traps, you can find those on KZread, but make sure its from a good source an not some hill billy with a mullet showing you how to make it. Set up the traps under thee legs of the bed, and move the bed AWAY from the wall, also please make sure to not have anything hanging to the floor at night.... this is important. Now your bed will be bed bug proof as long as you followed the steps correctly. Make sure to check for signs of bed bugs every morning, if you find any signs or have new bites, rinse and repeat until you sleep with no new events. SIDE NOTE: You may feel like your getting bit at night after this, but most of the time this is your brain freaking out. If you feel the need to check, then please feel free to do so, I can't fault you, but try not to let the psychological damage get to you. That is what these bugs do to your mind. Even when they aren't there, your brain will make you think they are. Once you have have had few good nights of sleep, and you know they cant reach you, the next big battle starts. TREATING ALL THE SLEEPING ROOMS IN YOUR HOUSE!! The best way to do this I have found is with a reputable bed bug spray. Just make sure they come from a good source, read reviews. The one I suggest is Hot shot, bed bug and egg killer. WARNING! This product will need the windows to be open and a mask to be worn, it is very brutal to the nose and lungs, but this is what makes it effective against bed bugs as well. Do not attempt to use it without doing these things first or you will not have a good night, trust me. We learned the hard way. Spray every crack that you see along the base boards ceiling and walls. Do not miss any spot they can crawl into. This includes light sockets. For those you will need to turn off the power to that room while treating it though. Once power is off remove the plate from the outlet and spray around the socket itself and not directly on or into it. You will need to repeat this many times over the next few weeks to a month, but its worth it, and it does kill them all. This will not only save you thousands of dollars, and repeat visits from "Exterminators" (that are almost always useless) an will cost you even more money, but it will save your house from the prying eyes of those filthy brown nosing neighbors that like to tell everyone what they saw like it was their god given job to do so. Remember, even the cleanest, most tight knit houses in the world can get infest by these things. An most of all DO NOT GIVE UP! Keep ahead of them an you will win. Lastly pleas do not bother with diatomaceous earth. This garbage does nothing but make a mess of your house. I have never found it to kill the bugs enough to justify the mess. Good luck.

One of that is needed use crossfire on everything and continue to use your furniture/beds repeat 2-3 times and viola! They really aren’t as hard to get rid of as everyone makes it seem. Crossfire last for a month just make sure you hit every crack and crevice with it

@@kamrunnaher644 The bugs have to come off the cloths to feed, they will always head for the bed and have to crawl through everything you laid down to get there. As I said, it takes time and patience to get rid of them. I always suggest lots of diatomaceous earth around the bed, between the box board and a light sprinkle under the sheets. The bed bug spray is from the base boards around the walls. Spray any cracks they could crawl into. Remember this rule of thumb with bed bugs, they will always stay close to their food source, so you can bet their very close to, or on the bed somewhere.

I agree that heat treatment is a very good way to kill bed bugs. But it also has limitations. Often it is difficult to get areas that are lower (walls next to the bed) up to a temperature that will kill them because the BBs escape into the areas of loose molding, under carpeting under the molding and into electrical outlet boxes after they get into the wall. Cement walls and cement block walls almost never get hot enough, without very large propane heaters right next to them. When heat failures occur they are almost always on lower areas of wall. You need to follow up ALL heat treatments by baiting electric boxes (take off their covers) with DE and or Harris powder. Use the powder squirter to get puffs into and around the electrical boxes close to the ground behind and next to the beds where people sleep. Pull the drawers out of the nightstands and squirt the powder into them. Then turn them over and squirt the bottom and the back. Concentrate on areas next to the beds. And lower areas. I have seen BB’s crawl underneath wall molding that looked “sealed.” This can occur while heaters are working above them! Remember, heat always rises. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

I would say that 'guaranteeing' them anything is wrong, especially heat treatment where it fails so often. The heat trreatment was expensive, didn't work, and destroyed the glue on built-in furniture. Chemical treatment worked.

The owners of the place I live brought in heat guys also and it didn’t work even after I vacuum and did everything they told me after. Lots of things got destroyed from melting but I’d signed the papers cause I’d been so happy I’d thought it would work. They did three rooms which two hand some. I’m pulling my hair out over this 😢

Repeat 2-3 times as needed. Also you have to continue sleeping on beds they’re on or the crossfire won’t get them all

You are absolutely correct this is as of 2022 I’m actually an inspector for TERMINIX and we are usually charge by the square foot of the home and the technician will handle the rest of the part. The problem with that idea is there is no applicable way to explain to the homeowner or the customer specifically what needs to be done. I totally agree heat treatment is the way to go but nine times out of 10 in order to get more money out of the customer the technician will use a chemical and it’s an aerosol chemical. Its something that is an a literal can that you can purchase from the DIY pest control store and save you about $1200. What I will say is do you research I know a bedbug problem depending on the infestation size can be nerve-racking but like he said in the video it’s pretty simple and effective sometimes all it takes elbow grease and patience

I tried DE, it didn't work. I had a pro come in 4 different times, that didn't work. I bought Ortho flea, tick and bed bug killer. I sprayed it on everything and around the base boards and it killed them all. I bought 4 gallons of the stuff, thinking I was going to have to drowned those Mf's. I have a 2400 square foot home. I used a little over a gallon. I also bought some of the Ortho flea, tick and bed bug killer in the powdered form to spray in the outlets. All the bug have been destroyed in one application.

Thank You Josh for the honest video, I am currently dealing with bed bugs. I'm no expert on this but I can tell you that our exterminator tells us that they have 7 different chemicals they choose from and after 4 applications and 8 weeks later we are still dealing with it. This is a very frustrating thing to deal with, and I'm tired (literally) of losing sleep over this. Thanks for you help:)

@@deonadale6094 I use cimexa dust in walls like literally all of them stud to stud then crossfire straight on everything beds seams box springs night stands furniture bed legs furniture legs baseboards crown molding all cracks all crevices everywhere in the whole house or building you need treated apartment building gotta treat it all seriously they are that bad they will move from apartment to apartment. That's the first treatment next treatment I come in with bedlam for the mattress and furniture seams and box spring then spectre 2 SC everywhere else than for a final treatment I'm coming in hot with nuvan for the beds and furniture and alpine wsg everywhere else. Make sure you treat the beds and furniture with pesticide approved for them and for that matter make sure the pesticide is approved to even be used inside at all and if you need a respirator and what kind of cartridges you'll need I usually use a comfo classic with a p100 cartridge if I'm dealing with aerosols or vapors which the nuvan is a vapor almost acts like a fumigant. But ya it works but it's a pain to buy all that chemical and do all that work. So Id recommend hiring a pro

I live in a apartment complex and my downstairs neighbors have a infestation. The landlord called Orkin and had them spray twice downstairs two weeks apart. On their second visit we alerted them that we had found them in our daughters room. They claimed she brought them in after playing with the neighbors kid. We NEVER let them play together because of other issues this family has. (Drugs and Crime) When asked if we could get heat treatment instead of chemical treatment they outright refused even after we said we would pay for the treatment. They claimed that if they heat treated our apartment the bugs would spread to other units. We found out from others in the building they already had. Landlord doesn't want to pay for heat treatment and Orkin will not offer heat treating service to us or any other tenant. We have thrown most of our furniture out encased our beds and box springs. We our on our second spray and they say they will be out one more time to inspect. We are still getting bit but see no bugs or sign of excrement. Our home is nearly bare. All our belongings are in heavy plastic bags or plastic locking lid totes. Orkin has told us that our bug problem is very minimal. The down stairs neighbors will be moving out through eviction by the end of April. The maintenance team explained they will have to tear out everything in the apartment below after they leave. I feel the bugs will then migrate in vast numbers to the rest of the building. Our landlord has threatened to make us eat the cost of the spraying. Our other option is to move and leave everything but our clothes behind. All this for a moderate or minimal bug problem according to Orkin.

So is the only true way to be free of these monsters is to leave your house and don't look back? Wow. I have no where to go and no money. I did a lot of research on how to get rid of them without an exterminator and ordered some Diatomaceous Earth powder from Amazon since I read so many stories about how it killed the bugs within 48 hours and the company claims it kills the bugs in 48 hours as well. I also read that spraying 90% rubbing alcohol on them directly kills them on contact if you can see them so I soaked my furniture and carpets in alcohol and put down the powder everywhere. I've only seen a few small bugs but I've got bites all around on my legs. I sleep in a recliner in my living room and I've only seen the bugs on the chair and on the end table next to it. The first time I found a red spot on my leg was about a week ago but didn't see any bugs and the red spots didn't even itch until days after the bites. It's insane. You can't even feel them crawling on you or biting you until they're gone. I'm horrified because I don't know where they came from and I've had a few people over and don't know if they may have brought them to my house or someone may have taken them home from my house. I have no money for an exterminator for heat treatment or chemical treatment. Am I going to need to throw out my furniture? I have no money for furniture either.

We had a small infestation a few years ago. Orkin charged us $3000 for 3 rooms to be heat treated. It didn't work as they were still in room 1 (ground zero). I eventually got rid of them myself using Harris Pyrethroid Resistant spray. It cost me $60 a gallon and I used a few but after constant spraying and keeping an eye out for travelers they were ultimately gone. Orkin was a joke! I also called Terminex for their free inspection and their 'tech' hardly checked anything but he did try to sell me their treatment which was to freeze them. Total BS from both these companies. Update-I wanted to add that I also got rid of some furniture even though they say not to. These bugs are thin and can hide in tiny crevices and even in picture frames. I cleaned out what I could in room 1, put small items like pictures and things in plastic storage tubs and put them outside on back deck. This was from Spring ro Summer. When I finally opened them months later, I saw them all dead at the bottom. The summer heat killed them and I even found them in some picture frames. It's a lot of work but the only way.

Bed bugs can get in the Insulation while room is being treated with heat and once the room cools down they come back out. Even treating the entire house at once they still get into the Installation and stay till the house cools down. They can go without food up to a year.

I visited my mom from FL and I must have had some hitchhikers from my flight. My home in FL has no issue. She never had an issue before my visit. It’s only in my old room and they only bit me but I am so stressed to leave my mom to deal with this. I hired orkin because they’re the only ones that service this area last minute. I only came to visit to help her get the house ready to sell and move to Fl with me. Now this issue pops up and I know how difficult it is to get rid of these bastards. I feel so terrible and stressed. Sigh.

I found out one thing about these pests, they love to hide in folds of sheet and creveses. Make sure they are white because you can see them better. They come out more so when the room is warm. Wait for about 30 minutes and you can line of them the folds of the sheet. Fill the washer with hot water and throw your sheet in there. Let it run on the wash and let complete the cycle. Let it dry in dryer if you have one. Do it as many as you need to, on the bed , and couch. If you have sheet long enough put it put one on your couch to. They will crawl up around the sheet till get to you. You can smash them or put them in the dryer if you have one. 😊

My place is really small, I see them everywhere. Halls kitchen and bathroom. Mine travel like crazy.

Just want to add that turning on a lamp or other like flashlight at night breafly let's say when you getting bitten and it wakes you up has a quite good potential to find and kill small amounts of bedbugs that somehow were able to get into your bed. This is good to know. I had a small infestation in my apartment about a year ago. My apartment complex has a deal with Orkin, so I was charged almost $400 for two spraying treatments for my bed and my couch/living room. I thought they were gone, but now I think they are coming back. I just got a brand new bed a couple of weeks ago; new frame, new mattress, new box spring, everything. On the day of delivery, I placed covers on both the box spring and the mattress. I also have brand-new linen. Now I feel like they are coming back, or they are still in my living room furniture. I'm not finding them in my new bed, but maybe in my living room...? I don't see any bugs anywhere, but I am starting to see bites. I tried the Ortho beg bug spray from Amazon, but no good. Maybe I'll try Harris...and I'm glad to know I'm not the only person this happened to.

I just found these last week in my sofa. Haven't seen anymore around the house. Burnt the living room furniture. Afraid to get anything new until I know the house is clear. I'm in a panic. I've read so much, some info conflicts. Can't afford heat treatment ..... I'm at my wits end. I have a new grand baby I take care of during day. I'm literally having panic attacks over this.

Hiw much for heat treatment and what about them being in woodwork already and wooden floors

Terminix quoted a nursing home in Covington Indiana for a preventative treatment for bed bugs lol. Ive been having great success when I do chemical (I'd rather heat) using alpine wsg and doxem nxt on the mattress.

He’s a clown. There are at least 6 highly effective chemical treatments. Heat is incredibly expensive and rarely ever eliminates the problem

Ive been treating Bed Bugs for 17 years. I have a 100% kill rate with chemical, preforming only 1 service. As does most of pest control. The key is being through with crack and crevices treatment. Flipping over all furniture and letting the chem seep into everything. As well as a Hot laundry service, including, washing clean laundry in draws and hanging in closets. If there is no clutter, like boxes and tons of books, then chemical is sufficient. It's the tech that makes the difference. Also, being cheap and under paying for service can ruin the techs Enthusiasm to go above and beyond. So, you get what you pay for.

Its all about experience. Servicing hundreds of hotel rooms day in and day out, gives you the upper hand with understanding your enemy.

We’re cleaning my grandparents home which is currently vacant from any furniture. I want to try to do the treatment myself to avoid what they are charging us. Can you make any recommendations? We tried it to clean it the best we could but not sure if their may still be some hiding out.

Thanks for much for this, I wish my landlord understood this. We are currently trying to move out and heat treat all of our items in a trailer because he refuses to use heat and is even dragging his feet on chemical, all the while, multiple units above his restaurant are infested, and getting worse and worse each day. I did have a question you might be able to help me with, I can't see to find the information ANYWHERE online. I have some plants (flowers and such in pots) that are in the apartment, and I know they won't survive heat. Is there a way to treat them or am I just going to need to bite the bullet and very sadly throw them away? Why don't you use diatomaceous earth ( food grade ) just dust them liberally? Maybe it will work for you. It causes them to starve to death.

Great video! We need someone like you around here!. I have a question, I live in an apartment complex. My neighbor that I share a wall with, has an infestation. The complex had someone come and spray 2 weeks ago, and will be back tomorrow to spray. I know how fast they spread, and have been doing everything I can do! But I am terrified! I had a bad infestation in my bedroom so what I did was spray the outside of the box spring all around with Raid Bed Bug Foaming spray. What it did was kill them before they got to their food source (me) and within a few weeks they were all gone. Also putting your bedding the the dryer on high heat for a half hour will kill them also.

diamatrous earth in the electrical sockets then put a baby proof plug in it also use the powder all over your apartment. Go and get mattress covers for every bed. Vacuum every night then clean vacuum thoroughly after each use. Buy some rubbing alcohol 91 percent it kills them and the eggs instantly. I would also get a steamer guaranteed to kill them its good you know now so you can arm yourself.

Me too! I get huge welts from them. Visited a property i have in daytona. One of my tenants is 86yo and got a bad infestation. He only gets a few bites here and there, bite marks not large. But me! Last time I was here, I sat in one of his chairs he uses in living room he spends most of his time in and woke up with dozens huge welts all over, but specifically above sock line, back of my neck, on my arms, it gradually worsened each day. I couldn't resist scratching, once I tore through the bites, it released a fair amount of smelly clear fluid, but quickly healed after that. Really disgusting. I made sure I showered and didn't take any dirty clothes back with me. Luckily, didn't bring anything I ng back home to Denver. This visit was 3 times as bad. Huge welt clusters after only one day and night sitting and sleeping in living room chair. I was so uncomfortable and these was were so many and so uncomfortable, it sucked, so I know I have and allergy to them. I Someone had bought a spray bottle of bug md that wasn't really being used, I sprayed all easily accessible surfaces of the chair I sat and slept in, put a new sheet over the whole chair and sprayed this liberally and so far haven't got any new bites, maybe just a few here and there, and old bites are almost healed. Leaving sheet on chair and spraying it almost to point of saturation. I could feel the dampness when I sat on the chair. I got a week and a half left here and I can't stand this crap. I am not fussy enough to do everything I need to to complete handle the problem. This is a very porous house and the infestation has spread to 2 other bedrooms and its quite hideous. You need to be so fastidious about the problem, they just take back over if u relent. Bug md does kill them on contact, but they can go for a year without feeding! Heat drives them into the walks and floors, then they come right back out and it starts all over again. I just wanna burn house down and start over!! This has been going on for w years since I bought this old boarding house and its so distressing. Bug md works with direct contact, but they are so good at hiding, you don't get that many with this method and you have to be relentless in yousearch to seek these things out and destroy them, u can't relent for a minute, high heat washing and drying. I almost never see a live one, but I saw many carasses where the old guy had sprayed his mattress creases. Bug md is pricey, it wears off quick and you just have to spray every sq" of the areas they are found several times a day for weeks. Heat drives them into recesses and destroys blinds and some of your furniture. They are an absolute abomination to have to deal with. Disgusting things, some folks barely have a reaction to them, I get huge red welts from every bite, as bad as a wasp sting, I dont even want to come down here any longer. My property manager said she was going to handle this, but she really hasn't followed through.

My question is why is the heat treat so dam expensive…makes no sense just putting the machine in the room and turning it on and leaving it for the allotted time?

It is so expensive because it's the most effective way to get rid of them. I'm going to try my own treatment since it is summer time I am going to crank the heat up as high as possible we have central heat so hopefully this along with chemicals will work.

@@rollingthunder1221 You'll never get the room hot enough, plus you have to increase the heat slowly as if it's too hot too quick they'll retreat further into walls where it'll be harder to kill (reach) w/ chemicals. In the scenario you gave, all you can hope for is to draw them out with the heat so you can kill them w/ chemicals....again, if the heat is not done correctly it can backfire and make matters worse for yourself. Personally, I would do a bit more research on the heat...not an expert myself but just trying to save you aggravation later from the little I do know. Also, when you treat w/ chemicals, take every sheet, blanket and either wash and dry them or dry them at the highest temp. Same for clothes if infestation is bad, Good luck 🤞

Where I live, my house insurance pays me back for any infestation I could have (1200 € for a 24h heat sinking method + steam around bed and mattresses)..,also for heat treatment they certainly bring their heaters but on your electricity bill..!!!

What do you do when heat treating only slows them down for a week or five because you're in an apartment and they're coming through the walls from other apartments in the building and the landlord refuses to treat those? By putting dichotomous earth on all the walls, we've really slowed the biting, but they do eventually come back. Do UV lights really help?

I've never seen not one of these sneaky bastards but woke up every day this week with more and more bites on my right arm and it started last Summer. I used the Home Depot box spring and mattress bag kits before and it actually worked so I'm about to get some tomorrow and thinking about my own heat treatment machine.

Set your alarm for like 2 am when they are most active and spray them with 91 percent rubbing alcohol it also kills eggs. get a steamer diamatrous earth some chemical spray at home depot good luck I would stay covered and rub tea tree oil on my clothing and lavender and put lavender dryer sheets everywhere

Look let me tell you this I use paint thinner to kill all the bed bugs in my room ,I just saw them ones but I woke everyday with a bite either at my back or my a**,weeks after I saw many of them oozing out of my mattress,used the paint thinner and till now I have not seen any bedbugs in any part of my room ever till now Ps:I use it for other insects too And make sure to spray all for corners of the walls in your rooms and any hole you find in your room

It's the worst when you can't even see them, but still get bites!

I have been dealing with bed bugs for 3 years and there everywhere I have been waking up in terrible pain and the worst part is I live in a building and the attendant will only get chemical to deal with the problem and I don't have the money to heat treat. does anyone know how I can get rid of them?

Yeah, Terminix just spray that stuff and hope the bugs crawl into it and die. Do it 4 times in some cases. Dangerous poisons around your bed.....great. But it can hide in the wall for 6 month and then come out, so then you have bed bugs again. I don't like Terminix.

Can I use ac heater to kill them?

I've found an open flame works best. Use either a lighter or stick matches but be careful.

What is it called?

Hello I recently moved in to a house and 2 bed rooms on the far side are infected with bed bugs I want to fix the problem my self I mixed ammonia and alcohol together sprayed it all over the mattresses carpets and wall cracks put a heater in the most infected room and now use lemongrass mixed with tea tree oil and peppermint in the hallway to keep them from excepting that area. Will this get rid of my problem, if I continue to do it every so often?

Purchase Food grade Diatomaceous and generously sprinkle around bed frame, baseboards, inside drawers, closets, unscrew outlets and put in each outlet. 3. Cover mattress and box springs with mattress cover and zip. 4. Buy bed bug spray and sprayed around the house. Give it time to work and constantly vacuum and empty the bag carefully dispose immediately outside!

Do bedbugs live on/are carried by cats and dogs? I've always been told bed bugs hate them, particularly cats, because they suffocate in the fur.

this is false, they dont hate the fur because its a good home or hiding spot for them. they dont suffocate cause they dont need as much oxygen as us

missing the most important/crucial part of treating bedbugs which can often make or break whether any type of treatment is going to be successful. this goes for heat and chemical. A good company will vacuume up live bugs and eggs first. a good company will often combine heat and chemical as well. a good company should always offer a guarantee regardless of treatment type if treatment involves whole house and or apartment providing other units around it have been inspected or treated.

I went the cheapest & best route possible! 1,000° heat gun! Beats chemicals if pets are around like I do. The second the heat gun air hits it, it's gone. It's dangerous yes but very effective & not heating the entire house. Hit the walls & cracks too!

Can I just use 10 electric heaters instead of buying a heat machine? Or use a portable gas heater with electric fans? Thanks

If you can get the temperature up to 130°F for 8 hours? Buy a hand held infrared thermometer to make sure you're reaching the 130°F everywhere. Penetration is key. Some people do 24hrs instead of 8 hours. You might start a fire 🔥 though. Those units could melt at high temp for long periods of time. Cheap power cords.

Bed bug infestation should be treated up close and personal using contact sprays and a vacuum.I take apart beds and treat c&c’s with diatomaceous earth ,this includes along baseboards throughout unit(bed bugs are not immune to the dust and never will be)Show me the temperature within a wall void during a heat treatment.High heat causes BB’s to disperse into areas where they weren’t originally.I.E units in multi family buildings didn’t have bed bugs until after the focus unit was heat treated !

I just found one in my house and been reading up all morning on what my options are. Heat treatment seems like the fastest and most effective way but the problem is the heat doesn’t penetrate walls and vents and small crevices that the bedbugs live in or will go to get away from the heat so you’re going to have to use it in combination with chemically treating those hard to reach places. Stripping and emptying furniture would also probably help the heat treatment do its thing, as well as decluttering. Such a nightmare

My son had a rash, pulled his sheet back on his bed and maybe saw 50 large bugs. I threw the mattress out the window and bought a handful of different options, sprayed everything everyday for 17 days and then let the mist clear. Found a tiny little bed bug after the bombardment, bought some crossfire and resprayed the entire room again. That was two weeks ago, no bites, no bug sightings... fingers crossed

Terminix treated our house, which they said wasn’t bad .. every two weeks for about half a year .. they signed off saying no bugs found .. I got curious and checked behind our “new” headboard 2 months later … back to square one . They do guarantee for 6 months… but now I feel like we will never get rid of them.

No on heat treatments in my area. It's cost thousands. Lost everything. Now pumping in to walls. I'm terrified and often Its going on three years

I think the guy said it wil take weeks of spraying and they tend to hide in wall cracks, windows etc. Cheapest is Buy the heat machine and crank that heat up to 140 degrees F. They die instantly. 100% Guranteed, the chemicals are not guranteed. ANd if they do come back, by liquid treatment. THey will charege you more, chepaest is buy the machine. $1,654.34

How about Aprehend? Have you heard of this? I’d love to hear your input

'Aprehend' worked wonders for us! Eliminated our infestation completely! But, it has to be applied a certain way, over 3 applications in many cases, by a licensed professional. It's non toxic too!

There’s no silver bullet. Even you acknowledged that it might not work the first time by saying “we’ll do it again”. The same can be said regarding chemical or fumigation. The truth is you have to look at each scenario individually and decide the best plan of attack.

Heat treatment in Las Vegas, NV is 3000k..also, only a very few will give you the cost over the phone even with exact square footage..they want 75.00 per service call so it's hard to find someone who can even give you a worse case scenario as far as cost ( I do realize this video is 5 years old) My poor elderly mother has someone scheduled to spray for 750.00.

i know someone who got it all over room pay for it in liveing room and in bedroom been cook 2x now and bugs still come out of no ware

Bed bugs are huge money suckers, and there’s not much you can do to get around it. Either way you go, there’s going to be costs. If you can treat them yourself, it is a bit cheaper. You can also get your family to help. First, you need to get: Mattress, pillow and a box spring encasement. This will isolate any bugs or eggs in your mattress, etc. from biting you. Make sure they are labeled bed bug encasement, a regular mattress cover will not work. A good, strong vacuum cleaner with crevasse attachments. Diatomaceous earth. A two gallon spray bottle. (Around $5 at WalMart) A gallon of bed bug spray of your choice, and some are better than others! Research which is best for your situation, for instance, if you have cats, avoid anything with permethrin, it can affect them badly. Ortho is a good brand, so is Harris, Hot Shot is not so hot, but it does contain Mylar, which is a growth inhibitor. A handheld steamer. A box of bombs. Many people don’t like them, but they will help if they are used correctly. Clean out the room/rooms to be treated. Empty dresser drawers, closets, etc. Take down curtains. Put everything in plastic bags, put outside, on a porch or patio if possible. Leave drawers and closets open, then use your first bomb. Close the door to that bedroom, and shove a towel in the door crack. Let sit for at least 4-5 hours. This is a knockdown to reduce their numbers as much as possible. During this time, take clothes, etc. to the laundromat, wash everything, dry hot. After it sits, dismantle the bed, place on the mattress and box spring covers, steam and vacuum the bed frame, headboard, the carpet beneath, the wall and windowsill cracks in the room, and follow up with the bug spray in the two gallon sprayer, and hit the carpets, bed frame, and wall cracks. Let dry, then apply DE to the wall cracks, the bed frame, between the mattress and box spring, the carpet beneath, outlets, anywhere you can reach. A thin layer works better than clumps. Put the bed back together, put on clean, light colored sheets, and this should at least give you a few nights of peace. Occasionally, lift up the mattress, observe for activity. If you see any, hit with the spray. Two weeks after, hit with another bomb to kill any eggs that may have hatched. Keep observing, use spray as needed. In a month, use one more bug bomb, and keep observing. It’s a long process, and you have to keep at it, but it does work. Furniture, use the steam and spray. If you can pull the chair, couch, etc. outside to spray, do it. Vacuum, steam, and spray the carpet, walls, baseboards around the chair. Repeat the spray in two weeks, then a month. Then lay DE in a light layer on the carpet and wall cracks around the chair. You have to keep on top of it, and get everyone in the house on the same page. Your hard work can be undone by a family member who doesn’t want to work, or “can’t see them”.

i never had a huge infestation i found one and got to them before they got worse i used bed bug foggers 3 times and a bed bug spray including pin sol i havent seen anything in over a week also used my heater for 24 hours and seemed to not find anything but 1 its been almost a month and im still treating should i continue using foggers and bed bug spray ?????

Hey there! I’ve never contacted a company because we recently realized our daughter has bed bugs in her room and have not infested the rest of house. We’re trying to treat her room specifically, but also use diatomaceous earth in rest of house as well because we have kitty cats so do you think that’s enough to eradicate them? Also washed everything in her room on hot and humid t dry cycle, but used the diatomaceous earth inside all her drawers and everything. You think that’ll actually work or do I need something else?

@@Dj_CaTz1 oh yes it’s been a year and no reoccurrence! I may have went overboard with the DE , but it worked! Puff sprayed in all the outlets, got rid of wood bed and replaced with metal bed, covered all trim and carpet in DE and left for few days before vacuuming, also did in every room with outlets and baseboards and around bed posts on floor to reinsure nothing would come to o the rooms so it worked!

Orkin sent a salesman to “inspect” After 2 sprays . The Inspector” said I was clear and no more bugs. I’m still vacuuming everyday and see eggs everyday, but no visible bugs. Now what?

It was about the same for me to buy my own heat treat equipment as to rent it for long enough to do all my rooms. It was very effective and I have the gear to retreat if needed. It wasn't cheap but a happy wife is a good thing. I have known people who worked for the big companies and they are very effective at making lots of money.

Im mad fustrated. This Time the Exterminator been coming since last year around October/ November. I live in A High Rise Housing building. They only do spraying with crossfire and used apprehend. They dont do anything else. There stuff isnt working. I cant tell you what it feels like to sleep on a real bed. This bed bug problem has been happening every freaken year since 2012 and the manager blames me. He said That I bring them home. I dont go out and collect bed bugs. Im the only one that has been having this recurring problem. for 9 years. Help! Advice.

@@hplifestylelessonsandfun9131 I just got 2 of it delivered from Amazon . I plan on cleaning out my bedroom and clearing clothes from my bedroom to wash it at the highest temperature . Also ; I purchased carbon dioxide traps and glue traps which will be placed around the bed . I realized that the bedbugs latch on to our clothes and believe that few got into my vehicle which I plan to spray inside with the crossfire . I believe that I got the bedbugs either from the laundromat or the movie theater which surprised me that the theaters are the highest risk of catching bedbugs . Green Akres on the youtube seem to offer the best advice ...

@@johndavid4072 Ok. I hope it works out! We’ve sprayed with Crossfire about 10 days ago. It’s seems to have helped. I’ve only gotten 2or 3 bites since. We’ll be spraying Crossfire again over the long holiday weekend. 🇺🇸 Yes. Movie. Theatres and peoples/ friends home are top places to pick these demon bugs up. At least you can pen the origin down somewhat. We have no idea have we got them. We haven’t been to the movies in 2 years. We have 2 teenagers so there’s no telling. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Good Luck. I pray for all going through this stressful season! 🙏🏽

Question, how can one tell when bed bugs are truly gone, Iv been sleeping in the living room for months and my parents refuse to do the proper steps to get rid of them and they refuse to get professional exterminators to come in and treat it. What should I do, I don't want to put anything in my room but my parents are insistent I move back in my room.

They or you could have someone come in & check. They could only get worse ! Less expensive to treat early ! Heat treatment. I got steamers hand held & carpet. Permanent egg & bed bug exterminator spray Also , baking soda , talcum powder & diademetrous earth powder in equal parts to sprinkle all over room as well as mattress & box spring encasements & interceptors on feet of bed. Get rid of all clutter. I even found one in a book Watch all videos on KZread!

Several hours to make sure the heat can reach thoroughly into most cracks crevices, crannies, but they will come back if you don't chemically treat first, and spay all horizontal surfaces, outlets, take apart furniture, dresser drawers, spray every surface, vacuum floors, etc b4 u use heat, because the heat drives them deep into your home. The heat kills them on contact, but to reach the insulated areas of beds, dressers, furniture, clothes, if you don't cut off their escape routes, they guaranteed to be back. U can't just move away, you would have to throw away all your shit, get all new clothes beds, etc, you will have to thoroughly clean your car, remove all seats, spray everywhere, you just can't be careful enough. They can be hitchhikers and don't mind traveling on your clothes and hiding in your stuff for up to s year until they gotcha! again and it starts all over. If its an apartment or condo complex, forget it, they will never get rid of all of them cuz too many people won't do whats necessary and they will travel everywhere in the walls and pop out looking for fresh meat. They are relentless and if you arent prepared to be as well, u lose the fight b4 its begun. There is so much preparation b4 u can use heat that its pointless to use heat unless its combined very methodically to cut off their escape routes
