It's mostly universal but not for ALL characters but it's to keep everyone in line with not making back throw into the corner an easy meterless win condition especially after perfect parry

I think dj has the biggest distance for all characters

21:24 wasn't check mate.You could have avoided it by using sway + forward punch which is fireball invisible

I was dropping a TON of combos too. Turns out the special move input system was changed so its holding input for less time. This makes it harder to misinput but changed up timings. You have to be more intentional with your inouts now!

You can follow with EX sway after sweep but it has to be really close so it works best in the corner.

ngl the nerfs don’t do much for me other than less damage. i mean no major frame data changes and he still got all his strong tools. i guess jackknife is the biggest one

The jacknife nerf was the one that hit home for me the most tbh. Cant punish those situations no more that i mentioned with it

His midscreen damage got nuked but I swear the unintentionally buffed his corner optimal off a punish counter. I'm seeing 7500 damage on some videos. And no direct changes to frame data and stuff so he's still going to mix people up

Not gonna lie, I was expecting the nerfs, but still my boy deserved his spotlight after being low tier for so many generations, man, LET HIM VIBE

I don't have stand heavy punch on modern so I've been using crouching heavy to punish this whole time, just make sure you're close enough for the back heavy kick to actually connect (or just use heavy punch instead) I just did a little testing and you do crouch heavy punch (punish counter) > back heavy kick > OD sway (heavy followup) > drive rush back heavy kick > heavy followup of normal sway > double sobat. I don't think you could get that before.

That jackknife nerf hurts😢

The punish counter slide change is better to test with a forward jump. Those situations are more consistent.
