People aren't dating foreigners here cause there are no foreigners here, they are as rare as oxygen on Everest :) Must be funny coming from American multicultural pot to place so pure with domestic people, not even refugees from middle east want to stay here, that's how bad it is haha Anyway, good points, but you can never generalize anything, nevertheless I don't see why are some offended by your observations and thoughts, I find them funny, just stay who you are and don't give a f... :)

Fear of the unknown hehe as I say, nothing can be generalised, different was always interesting to me, meeting people from foreign cultures is best part of travelling, there's so much to talk about and learn, so it is impossible that everyone is like from your experience, I'm sure many feel like me. But this is quite traditional part of the world, so I guess big part of population simply prefers domestic products 😁 I guess language can also be the barrier for some, many would have problems to express themselves in foreign language, and of course, you can never communicate like in your own language, especially when it comes to romantic relationships, cause there are so many complex layers involved. Also, maybe some are even afraid of losing their seeing gola crnkinja virginity 😂😂😂😂

I'm Jamaican married to a man from Herzegovina side of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The culture is very mannish yes but they work hard and do everything for their family. They are very clannish but once you are part of the clan you'll appreciate that dedication. The culture I come from is very mannish as well so maybe that's why it doesn't faze me. But yeah they are very blunt about looking or DISliking changes in your looks. Too blunt but wear their hearts on their sleeves. Very intense about the woman they love and very jealous but I much prefer that since men from my country are like that too, compared to American men who play it so cool I can't tell the difference if they like me or they are in a coma! And yes they pay for the dates and they like a woman looking like a woman and they are VERY handy around the house... If there was a KZread video that clarified how to run the world my husband would rule it already lol. He'll sum it up nicely as "I am boss outside the house, you are boss inside the house." And he loves my child as his own. He does try to cover me up if he feels too much of the stuff he likes is showing to other men though lol so I suggest you just make sure you can cook and be willing to bear his child or children and you'll be able to find a husband among them. If I'm on that time of month or not feeling well he does help out around the house. ETA 2 years later i do have to add that he helps out daily, some stuff I've just never had to touch again since we got married, like the trash... I didn't mean to make it look like he only does something if i can't.* I do have to drag him kicking and screaming to the doctor for annual checkups and I can't get him to eat vegetables unless I hide them in a Nutribullet smoothie 🙄🙄🙄 and I cannot serve him anything without bread but I can live with that. He's the best man I've ever had. And he makes up for the extreme bluntness with that height yes and those green eyes that always look at me with deep thoughts under the surface and that sexy deep voice that will tell me the most romantic things, like "if I knew a woman like you existed anywhere in the world, I would have waited for you from the day you were born." I do feel it takes a strong woman to deal with these men and smart too, but this Jamaican has always been both so no problems. Cause he'll also say he likes that I take care of him and seen to be the first woman to REALLY love him, and that I kick his ass when needed. Lol. I'm not dealing with younger men though... Find yourself one born before 1981 maybe. I'm mid-thirties he's early forties. Our story is up on our wedding website at theknot.com/us/michelle-and-alen. Good luck with the search, I'm the more adventurous one out of the two of us by far, but once he loves you and you don't make him feel like anything less than your man, you can get him to try a few adventures with you. :). If you don't make it clear you're looking for a husband nothing less, they might just be about sex. I didn't mind doing things for him before we got engaged like waking his clothes and making him food when he came over because every time he came he brought something to put on my table, either ready to eat or for me to cook to eat. I never had to ask it was just his way. They are such men they make you want to be the woman. At least the older ones I don't know anything about the younger generations.

I agree with you, they are gorgeous, strong ppl. As a black woman, I've had to be blunt with ppl who wanted to overstep boundaries here in the u.s. so I really appreciate their strength. They are lions, as a man should be. Like me, they mean you no harm and they'd rather be calm but don't mind changing gears when necessary. It seems like they can appreciate and recognize the struggle over here maybe because of their own. I know a gorgeous Serbian king (6'5), LOVE THEIR HEIGHT! I've heard his lion side (It's not a side you want to see or hear) and he's shown me the quieter side. Both sides are absolutely sexy! He is a straight no chaser (he's not a bullshitter) and that in itself is highly appealing. You can see that they'd lay their life down for a loved one without blinking an eye. SUPER COOL MEN, REAL MEN! I miss that Serbian king and hope all is well with him and his ppl. I think that they are beautiful ppl, full of substance and integrity, the men and women. Thanks for the post. 😄

On dating a foreigner girl, the fact is that Serbs in general are educated to traditions. They whant their woman to be part of it. If a foreigner shows an interest in knowing the social/religious/familiar/cultural dynamics there will be no problems. The fact is that they want you to take roots in their land. It is very different from what happens in the European Union where we feel more like a comunity made with different cultures but same ideals. Serbs are ethnocentric.

serbs are bit extreme...once they live in a western country they start to act like very "cosmopolite" and they are showing off how much into foreign food they are like thai food and how much they like Japan. Or they listen this shitty type of western music called "techno " " progressive" music...too much trying to be like a westerner. for me as a Serbian born and raised in Netherlands thats very strange...i never listen to that type of western music , never used drugs, never visited trashy drugs festivals and never will. but i did visit Guca of course!! by the way i also dont like so much this belgrade mentality also they are trying too hard to be something they are not...be proud of your roots...long story then on other side there are serbs who really have nooooo idea what happens outside of their little village somewhere in serbia...they only know people from there..marry people from there and talk local dialect not proper serbian...very interesting

You're absolutely right about the sensitivity part. I spent 5 years talking to him online and soon as we started dating after I visited him I felt like I became a whiny American bizatch. My guy likes promptness, keeping things clean, making sure I've done something with my day (instead of binging Netflix - something they don't do haha). Anyways - thanks for the video! If you have any others for what women should keep in mind while dating them I'd love to see it. Much love from Texas

The dinner part as a 1st date is not universal everywhere. If it's not part of Serbian "dating customs" so what? That's how it is in Canada (where I live) and the US as well - men don't want to spend money on an expensive dinner here either UNLESS they know they're getting laid for sure, so the first date or the 2nd date are usually at lounges/bars/etc. However, the other things you mentioned regarding the provincialism and the sexism is 100%. He says somethings that offend me but he doesn’t purposely try to do that. He just doesn’t understand. And vice versa. But we educate each other. we are just learn more about each other. One of the only reasons (if not THE reason) Balkan men want to date their kind is because you'll seldom find a western woman or just a foreign woman in general who would be willing to put up with their sexist, abusive (usually emotional but sometimes otherwise) asses. For a girlfriend or a wife, they basically want their mommies aka maids who do all the cooking and clean up after them with the added benefit of having sex with them. They are also moody - you'd think they were the ones getting periods - and ungraful for what they *do* have. As a Serbian woman I'm genuinely baffled why anyone would actively want to date a Balkan man...there are exceptions to every rule of course and they ARE really good guys out there, but "the Balkan brute" kind of a guy is FAR more common unfortunetly and that is sadly the reality that many women end up with.

I'm from Balkans and a lot of the things you say I can confirm like being blunt , in your face . I , however, am not tall haha. I like Balkan attitude is more open , honest and genuine . Here in Canada people are a bit fake. I kinda been living in Canada way too long and while I don't like to beat around the bush and be fake I kinda learned to be both Canadian and Romanian which takes a bit away from who I am. I have never seen a man with so much passion for food so much so that I would try and have polite conversation over dinner and he just wanted to stuff his face and enjoy 🤣 glad I found this video I really miss him and until this corona virus is over will not see him for a while 😢😢😢

That fact, that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, was once true the world over. Just check Florrie Forde's music hall song "Girls, girls, study your cookery book" from mid 1900s. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck with your Serbian beau, that is, if you still are together, which I hope you are. We have a maxim "Dok se jede, ne priča se" (one should not talk while one eats). I think it comes from fear of our grandmas that a bite will go the wrong way and end up in our windpipe. Thus, polite conversations during dinner aren't really our thing, but even that is subject to the area a man (or, indeed, a woman) comes from, because we're affected by a bunch of influences over here. All right, I'll stop rambling, and give you warmest regards from Montenegro.
