College definitely has its place, but only for people going into specialized field like medicine or engineering. Growing up I was told "college, college, college". When it came to how to pay for college, was always told there would be a plethora of scholarships. When I couldn't get any due to my grades and being "too rich" I was told to take out loans but I would have an easy time paying it back because I would "easily get a job with a degree". Now two years after graduating with no professional job, the people who told me that just kind of shrug their shoulders

I know, people aren't doing what they love. They're being forced to study useless subjects that they either hate or they don't give a shit about. College has become the mandatory norm. Also, I mostly blame the Baby Boomers, the parents, and the Politicians who say that we have to go to college in order to get the job we want, when in reality people who graduated from college are in thousands of dollars in debt and work at jobs that don't require a degree to begin with. 😒

You're speaking facts right here. I'm currently taking a gap year because I don't know what I want to do in college/university (because that's what my parents want me to do but my head just isn't there). They don't know about ways to make money or a living on the internet/on apps, they just simply don't believe in that. I know that I don't want to go to college and choose a course that I'll just hate; that's not how I want it to be for myself but helping my parents understand that is just an uphill battle. Your video was helpful, I'll try sit them down so that they can see things from my perspective and see how that goes. Keep the videos coming, they are helping a lot of us

I've switched my major before my junior year in college and I feel like I wasted some time when I could've graduated earlier. Every time I see someone posting grad pictures on social media it sometimes put me in my feels and I'm gonna be honest, but at the same time I be thinking, what if they get a job and they end up hating it or what if they're still searching for their dream job. Everything takes time and college really aint for everyone

Since I started my music course at college, I have learnt so much stuff that I love and want to know that will boost me further for my future. The only difference is that you need to make it happen yourself ( depends on what you have chosen ) . College doesn’t give you your dream. For example, I want to become a musician and create, perform my own songs. College will teach me how to improve myself and become more independent. Most Colleges have connections to companies and businesses that will help you after you have finished your course. My college has a connection with BBC Radio and students get to play their songs on it. Nice video Jordan!

You gotta look deep at all angles to get your dreams fulfilled. I personally don't think I'll need it as I believe in what I'm doing here on KZread. Bro, great minds think alike. I became aware of this probably around the 9th grade, and when I got to senior year. All my counselors where trying to rush me into college. I was smart, got good grades, but hated the structure of school, and I always knew college wasn't for me. If it's not for you, please don't go because I know people who went because "everyone else did" or "the college parties will be lit". Nah, what's lit is having financial freedom to be free and travel, and providing value to the world as you learn different things.

Its the fact that they don't know what goes into the process that they think its so good. We however notice the little things because we made it. 😂 I'd say go for it if you want to make content surrounding art though. You could go far, you never know. ✏️

Robert Kiyosaki's book Cash Flow Quadrant examines the four categories: Employee, Self Employed (one person corporation), business owner and investor. CEOs are employees (who can pretty much set their own salaries and compensation.) MBAs who go into management are employees. A guy who owns a hotdog cart is a business owner. Take that Mr. MBA. It usually takes decades to where you have saved enough capital to become an investor. Ever notice how subjects that would benefit people most like civil discourse, budgeting/personal accounting and entrepreneurship are electives AT BEST? There's definitely a political component to how school curriculum is decided and let's just say an enlightened society is a dangerous society to the people running things.

It would be pretty dope if you made a video just about a hobby of yours or a topic that interests you; whether that be history, music, art, politics, science, video games, fitness, faith, etc. For me, I have a deep fascination, and high skill level(no brag :P), in math and science, so for me college was a no-brainer. Hell, the internships/part-time jobs I get have allowed me to pay for college while going there and going to a state school definitely helps a lot. However, I do not think a passion alone is enough for me to dismiss other things in life. For one, I was never extroverted, always quiet and reserved, so I make sure to push myself to engage with others, it keeps me human. I'd be interested to see what things you are passionate about, and what flaws you see specifically in yourself that you try to work on every day.

However if you are an esports player or make money from playing video games like being a successful content creator for example and that is what you believe your purpose is then go for it. You're making money so it really doesn't matter if you put more time into video games but you should still have bigger goals in life. For someone that doesnt live in the US, I think I can still give you some advise. I have some people in my classes that do business besides their school. You can do that aswell. Just pick a major that fits with your business, start up and get some knowledge of the topic with your study. I know that it can be stressfull but if you really want it than you can always find a way to achieve your goals.

Problem is, youll have to talk it out with your parents if they would agree with you not going to college. Otherwise, they could kick you out if you dont adhere to what they want for you. Thats the problem i see. Only pros for going to college is that it could get you a job which would be you main source of income, and from that you can leverage those income by investing, saving up and build your financial freedom. And eventually you leave that job and work for yourself. I mean youll have to start somewhere and make sacrifices along the way. And youre totally right with going to community college. You can still get a decent job graduating from college rather than university. And plus you save a whole bunch of money

Your right. I need your advice on this. I'm just fresh out of high school. I love business and my parents want me to go to University to pursue BBA. I'm against the educational system when it comes to "teaching Business" and I also explained it to my parents who both are not much educated but my dad runs his own business and we are pretty wealthy. I think all they want is for their son to get a college degree like BBA in the country I live rn which is Kuwait and after that they want me to pursue MBA in some western country. Basically 6-7 years waste imo. And I'm already 20 rn. And they also agree it might be a waste but they tell me in this day and age. Credentials are imp which Ik is true to some extent. They just wanna flex that I went to college coz all the kids of their BROS and sis went. Or should I just agree to go since we can afford it without going into debt. And I can join my dads business when I'm done with all this?

I think you’re a smart kid, but KZreadrs need to stop selling this narrative that college is a “bad idea”, but rather encourage people to evaluate all options before making a decision. The truth is, most people without college educations aren’t “bright minds” that are too wise for college. They’re usually people who don’t excel academically or don’t have the financial resources to afford it. College dropouts will have you thinking that they’re going to be the next Bill Gates when statistically, most people who aren’t college-educated are working low-wage, poor conditioned jobs. My opinion is, college isn’t for everyone but dropping out isn’t going to make you a millionaire either. Almost every President and most business owners have some college education. And going to college doesn’t mean you have to work a 9-5 afterwards lol. You’re acquiring a skill set and it’s your choice how you use it afterwards.
