The Truth About Being Unemployed at 26: My Honest Story

I bet you find it a bit strange to hear of a 26 year old biomedical engineer in London who has never been in full-time employment and is jobless, right? Well, in this video, I’m going to share with you my story over the past few years on how this has affected my life, and what I am currently doing to improve it.
Being jobless is not easy, especially if you don’t have much money to spend on the things you really want, it has a massive mental impact on you and your overall confidence. Surprisingly though, it’s also not as bad as some of you may think, especially if you know how to spend your time properly and make a few mindset shifts.
I will go over my educational background where you will gain an insight as to how I found myself in this position, so it's something that you can be aware of and ensure that you don't find yourself falling into the same trap!
Over the past 2 years, I have been doing different things to keep myself busy and learning new skills while being unemployed full-time, to develop myself further, not only as a professional looking to get into the tech industry, but also as a person - I want to fulfil my dreams as I am sure many of you do as well.
Also, it's a point to note that my story is UNIQUE to me, and anyone who is currently jobless will have varying experiences and support. I tried to fit in what I could to share my story, so I hope it is informative.
If you do find this video insightful, then I would appreciate it if you could share this video with anyone who is in a similar position, and leave your comments down below as I would love to know what you think about this topic, but also if you have any tips for me during my job-seeking journey, which would be helpful; oh and subscribe if you haven't already :)

Somehow this pop up in my recommendation and I feel like we are in very similar in situation. I'm graduating soon with bs degree with no experience or job coming my way. Definitely feel anxious about my future with only one semester left. But I always believe that things will eventually come around and great opportunities will appear. So all the best to both of us. Really appreciate the honesty here and glad that you have a supportive family.

This video is super interesting The video quality is great, the text, the visuals, you have good light, editing, etc etc. Quality is surprisingly on the level. You clearly live in a nice place and have money for the multi light source setup and decent camera. The fitness shot. You asked someone to film yourself doing the exercise which demands decent social skills. And looking on your muscles you have money for the decent protein source You have enough of: - introspection - money - social skills - intellect - time But yet no job. That is a wired situation to be it. Or am I dreaming? Anyway, I'm a senior software developer. Can I somehow help you? Like, I can answer your questions on the topic. I've conducted hundreds of interviews during my career.

The job market during and post covid for new grads is pretty rough accross the board, a lot of companies downsized over covid and the companies growing back has new grads with little to no experience having built up numbers competing with those who lost their job over covid period and have experience still

Covid fucked my last years in college as well, but after some years ended up getting a job, it was way harder than I thought it would be, also in the tech sector these last couple of months you can only get an interview if you know somebody in the company

Maybe get into teaching, a lot of subjects have bursaries especially in. Science and Maths. I graduated the year before you with a 2:2 and have been teaching now for 2 years! Inshallah it all works out for you, but it is definitely something to consider and in the mean time maybe apply for grad roles? - One of my co-worker who is a grad engineer has been doing this
