Don't get fooled by the no sales tax in Delaware. You buy a car (or when you move to Delaware) you are taxed (or as they called it "processing fee") of 4.25%. So a car you already own and need to register you pay 4.25%. Buy a car you pay 4.25%.

That is the only "sales" tax - it is a one time charge. Compare that to say VA, In Virginia, car ownership fees include a 4.10% Motor Vehicle Sales and Use (SUT) Tax based on the vehicle's gross sales price or $75, whichever is greater1. An additional $64 fee applies to electric vehicles. Additionally, Virginia taxes automobiles every year as a property tax, which is 3% of the sale price. What does your state charge for car ownership?

You didn't mention traffic. Getting there is a nightmare usually one way in and one way out.

@@MattLunden Nice! I think I found it. Corner of DuPont & Seashore Hwy across from a community college? Well I think that’s a “Clinic” only, but I just looked it up and looks like there’s a full “Medical Center” in Wilmington if needed. How’s Georgetown?

@rob41137 Georgetown is the seat of Sussex County. Covers quite a bit of area & has everything from “downtown” to more rural areas. About 30 mins from the beaches

Great video Matt! I would love to own a house in Delaware but we don't think we can afford it. Is there any option for new homeowners with no or very low deposit? Our money might go further but don't know. I work in transportation like truck driving and rideshare. My wife works at grocery stores. What do you think, I should do?

Seniors don't move to Coastal Delaware!! No matter what this guy says. We have the worst healthcare in the US. If you need healthcare that's more involved than a hangnail, you will need to be referred to either Baltimore, or Philadelphia. Most of the specialists are from Philadelphia, where their practices failed, due to botched care. Come to Delaware only to die!
