    Your negatives are petty. Personal opinions about the subtle looks are fine. But the fuel gauge slow response disconcerting? It's a common quirk on bonny's. And doesn't bother anyone after the first fill up. And the stickers? Not sure if that was a concern or a feeble attempt at humor.

    @@jaromor8808 it's because the fuel level is calculated based on average fuel sensor level - so it takes a while to recalculate - unlike the old Ruski fuel gauges, the level won't hop around over every bump, or when you accelerate or brake.

    True comment about the clocks/dials. They look great and you can kind of read them of course sometimes I miss the modern TFTs showing bigger mph, gear & ride mode info. Love the torque and engine throb on these Triumph 1200 twins and there are ways of getting a better exhaust note.

    I own a Speed Twin along with many other motorcycles including a 2013 Triumph T100 and a 2018 Bobber Black. In stock form, I am not a big fan of the Speed Twin. Most problematic is the sloped forward seat along with the compact riding triangle (I am 6 ft tall). I also agree with TFL that the exhaust note lacks character. The suspension is also quite primitive and too weak for me at 210 lbs. Fortunately I discovered TEC Bike Parts out of the UK and their USA distributor. TEC (I have no financial or other connection to their business) produces extremely well engineered after market parts, primarily for Triumph, at very affordable prices. TEC's progressive fork springs raises the front end and reduced front end dive on braking. Their rear shocks included a lowering feature that allowed me to drop the rear just over an inch. The stock seat is a two tier affair that forced me into the tank along with the geometry...I replaced that with a Triumph aftermarket pleated seat that is flat from front to back. Finally, I switched to TEC's adjustable foot pegs to lower the pegs. The end result is a vast improvement in handling and rider ergos. I also converted from the stock exhaust to at TEC 2-1 exhaust for a far better sound and a clear performance improvement. The beauty of the TEC exhaust is that when you get on it has a beautiful throaty rumble but when you are cruising at low RPM it is very quite. The changed also dropped something like 18 lbs as the catalytic converter and dual pipe stock system is obesely heavy. With these changes and a few others my Speed Twin went from a bike I wasn't sure I wanted to own to one that I may never sell.

    I like this bike. I like Triumph's line-up in general. I am so happy to see a proper speedometer and tachometer. I could care less about riding modes and gear indicator. Fuel gauge is nice, but not necessary. I usually reset my trip meter and go by it any way. Biggest issue with me is the nearest dealer is 100 miles away.

    Nicely produced, thanks! Near as I can tell the sticker on the tank tells us to read the bible and eat pizza. I opted for the T120 instead, and it's all day comfortable. The engine is less powerful, of course, but you never run out of power and gas mileage is excellent. My riding buddy has a Thruxton and he wins any contest of speed or agility. I keep telling myself how comfortable my T120 is. He has to gas up 50 miles before I do.

    Roman, you want more chrome, more bling, more style, and more leg room, but you still want a Triumph modern retro classic? Bonneville T120. Not as fast or light as the Speed Twin, but a lot more comfortable, and its looks are exactly what you want from a '60's-era British Twin.

  • @RobbieHerrera
    @RobbieHerrera3 жыл бұрын

    That’s definitely easier to start than my ‘72 Bonneville. In the morning I need to kick start mine (ignition off) to free the clutch, then “tickle” the carbs til some gas comes out of the ticklers, give it a couple kicks to draw fuel in from the bowls, and finally turn the ignition on to kick start the bike. If you follow the procedure the bike will start on the first kick when you finally turn the ignition on. If you don’t then you’ll be kicking for a while wishing for a push button start and that’s IF you didn’t fall off to begin with because you didn’t free the clutch first 😂

    You’ll never really know until you ride, or at least sit on them. I did sit on Speed Twin, but didn’t ride it. I went with the z900rs because imo it reflects very highest in quality and attention to detail. IMO it resolves most of the criticism heard about Triumph. Better, more adjustable front and rear suspension; more comfortable seat and peg position; more readable instrument panel; great stock exhaust sound, growling, but not obnoxious; better looking, more chrome with in-line 4 pipes; better gas cap; has great abs brakes plus 2 levels of traction control, which saved my life coming to a complete stop in about 30 feet going 50 mph! It is so much fun to ride I challenge you NOT to smile every time you ride the z900rs! FYI : I bought a 2018 in California from original owner with 2600 miles for $8300, plus it already had radiator protector, rear chrome grab bar and slide protectors. If you’re not too concerned with speed/ torque, you may also consider the new, inexpensive Royal Enfield 650 with 3 year warranty! Good luck with your decision.

    Well that review had all the depth of a puddle. Its not a chromed up harley. And its got manufacturers stickers on the headlight and tank. I don't care if you don't like it, but jesus.

    That was the worst “road test” of a bike I’ve ever seen, you mentioned nothing about how the bike performed. Stick to cars.
