Had mine for over two years. Professionally remapped now with 198hp at the crank 256NM. It’s mental, the best feeling bike I’ve ever owned. Granted it love petrol stations and there’s far better bikes for touring on. But as a bike to clear your head, forget work and the day to day problems of life, nothing comes close to it. A very special machine in todays market 👍

@@-Eternal-Damnation- One, we don't have the electrical grid infrastructure to support the demand for EV cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. We can barely handle the demand we have now. Two, we don't have generation capacity for the added demand, solar and wind don't cut it either. Germany tried just renewable and couldn't do it, went back to coal. Three, we need a quantum leap in battery technology that doesn't rely on rare metals. Sure, batteries are better than they used to be, but currently they rely on rare metals like Lithium which are in finite supply and cannot be completely recycled in new batteries. Additionally, rural areas will always be a problem for people and heavy equipment Can't charge in the middle of nowhere. I think we'll settle somewhere in the middle where major cities will require EVs to reduce pollution, but suburbs and rural areas will still using some form of petrol. Many companies out there are working on synthetic petrol which as zero or near zero carbon emissions.

i heard a report from someone i know whos ridden this, they said that despite the weight and cumbersome feel to the bike, the appeal of the engine capacity does really push through. often people question the need for such power, but as you pointed out, the advantage of the low vibrations at higher gearing is just exceptional.

The rocket 3 riding position was the perfect fit for me at 6 feet - 250 lbs. I bought a 2022 rocket R and I pretty much do everything on that bike. Around town, long distances, short distances, day rides, overnight rides, I do it all. And the bike does everything And more on those rides. It may not corner like a speed triple because of its overall length, but I have no problems on the curves because the weight is so low on the bike, but it’s just a lot of fun. I look forward to many years and many miles.

I have the GT, and fitted the mid-mount pegs. Combined with my handle bars which are swept back further than the R, it’s extremely comfortable to ride. The front wind deflector is surprising very effective at diverting the wind over your head; I’m 6’2” and actually don’t feel any wind on my chest or helmet which I haven’t seen others comment on. I assume this effect is because the air is moving between two parallel surfaces which creates a type of laminar airflow, culminating the air into a sort of sheet which is then directed over your head. Having ridden the R, you don’t get the same protection. This effect really is underestimated. Even passing trucks and windy areas really seems to attenuate any effect on the bike, though this would also be due to a combination with the bikes (and my) weight

I really didn’t wanna ride anything else and test rides with customers but this bike. I tried my best to sell them but people were scared of the size and power before getting on it and I kept telling them it’s a BIG puppy lol 😂 The thing is just so easy and enjoying to ride then just wants to play. It’s ridiculous piece of engineering. I tried to talk more riders off the speed triple and into these. Price off put some people also but my God I love this bike.

I have ridden my 2020 GT for over 71,000 miles (115,000,km) and in my opinion the Rocket is the best all around street bike made. I can play with the sports bikes (I have passed more of them than have passed me, by far), I can cruise with the cruisers (plenty of storage with panniers and a top box) having done over 1000 miles in one day and been on 10 day trips. Picking up groceries is even fun. And after all those miles the grunt is still intoxicating, lol. I still get excited each and every time I get in the saddle. When this one wears out I will be getting another Rocket unless I see something that might be better. Nothing like that exists right now imho.

Extremely low centre of gravity. Very stable. I came out of the Triumph dealer, jumped on my Buell Ulysses which suddenly felt like a toy. The lighter new model must be more manageable. If I was 15 years younger, I'd consider one. I think they're good value. A bit uneconomical. More economical than the old one, though. I don't like the chrome tank. Good to see you on one. Nick J

My only complaint with my Rocket GT3 is the handle bars are so wide that I cannot always lane filter, which is annoying as I live on the Gold Coast and the weather is often quite hot, and the bike throws off a lot of heat. I would like to know if it's worth switching off if the traffic lights are particularly slow (as is often the case here). It drinks like a fish too and the 18lt tank empties quite quickly. I don't understand his comments about weight and it being difficult to move in the driveway. The weight is really low down, so it may be a problem if you let it tip beneath a certain degree otherwise I'm 59 and haven't been to a gym in years and it's no problem at all. I recommend getting one of those hyper sensitive portable alarms that you can buy online for around $100 because idiots are going to try and sit on it and have their pics taken while they scratch the tank with their belt buckles. I have made 2 minor modifications to mine. That is a Denali sound bomb mini horn (puts out 113db) because I felt the original horn was quite weak, and an Innox k3 front and rear mounted camera with gps and microphone. I had to get an auto electrician to install mine because it turns out all the standard accessory ports will draw power even when the ignition is off. They installed a post? and wired the camera system to it, and now I don't drain the main battery overnight.

The fuel cap is not a problem, but the dashboard could be as you said. If it were possible, I would immediately replace it with two analogue ones. But still better than ugly tablets. As for power and others, maybe there is someone whose dream is Opel or Dacia, but I don't know anyone like that. Everyone would like a Ferrari or a Lambo. Even if they end up buying the Opel, but not because they really want it.

@davidtait7407 I don't think I've ever had a go on a fast ride at the fair and come off it thinking OK I've been there and done that, now let me stick to ones less thrilling. I'd more likely want to have another go and another one. I own a Rocket 3 GT and can honestly tell you I've never got off it and thought...OK now " time for a proper bike". In case you feel I'm not making a fair comparison I also own a Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Performance Sport, a KTM 890 Adventure R and a Triumph 900 Thunderbird Sport. All of which are " proper bikes" each with their own unique attributes but I wouldn't consider any of them more " proper" than the Rocket. If you want to have " proper" fun I'd say the Rocket's the one, although they are in many ways somewhat equal.

Its beautiful, high quality, amazingly powerful, but the shear size and weight! The bike is “all about” cruising on the highway, not in town operation, negotiating parking lots, U turns, slow turns, etc. Diavel, or Speed Triple if buying British is the thing, has better performance in a much lighter package. But for those who want the biggest,…

I own a 2021 Rocket GT Triple Black and I can concur that the bike is an absolute hoot, fun, fun, fun and comfort rolled into one. I haven't tried the R but I believe the swept back bars and more upright riding position make it even more flickable. It's handling really is very good especially when you consider what a Big Beast it is. It's one drawback is indeed manoeuvring it when off the bike, best done with the help of a pillion especially if on anything but level ground. Perhaps the brakes on the one you tried weren't properly bedded in, sure they don't have the expected initial bite but they do have a very progressive feel which perfectly suits the bike's weight and power. To sum it up it's more fun than you can shake a stick at, my son's reaction when riding pillion was " #@&%#@? WOW!!"

Any noticeable torque lean when jumping in the throttle? Because it’s not a transverse engine. Planning on getting this bike but am weary about the linear engine setup. Road some old BMWs and they lurch under heavy acceleration, really worrisome when exiting a bend.

I turn the mirrors 90 degrees up sometimes and I think this gives me about another 3 inches less width to play with (I hate bumping someone's mirrors with mine). Drivers here in OZ are quite often already angry that I'm getting to the front of the red lights without aggravating them further.

Why doesn't Triumph fit the Rocket with a reverse gear, like the Gold Wing? The bike has a kerb weight of about 320kg (705lbs), so it would come in handy on an incline, on bad/slippy surfaces, or when you're in a tight space.

Why doesn't Triumph make a Touring Rocket 3 with a full fairing, bigger gas tank, higher handle bars, forwrd foot pegs, hardbags and tour pack, I'd buy one? Love the motor, drive shaft, just don't like that it doesn't have a fairing . No wind / rain protection, lack of hard bags and tout pack. Take an Electra Glide and put that Triumph motor and drive shaft in it. On a side note. How many head on collisions do you have riding those skinney green lanes with no lane divider lines there in the UK? They look very dangerios.
