    I think the only reason they gave Kronik the stoner theme is because WCW wanted their own version of the APA and they swapped out beer with weed.

    They had to add rules because Nash was retaining. I mean come on, do you expect him to climb all the way to the top of that giant structure? I mean Nash would have blown his quads just at the suggestion 😂

    Then he dropped it to Booker in another cage match at Fall Brawl and then Booker dropped it to Russo in a Cage match as well they sure loved there cage matches in WCW 2000.

    Decades later I’m still amazed at how much 99-01 WCW resembled a good/bad movie like The Room or Miami Connection. It was trash but unlike a much of WWEs bad segments(Anything about Vince’s ass, Katie Vick, etc) it was bizarrely entertaining even then.

    Them talking about the triple cage for dpw show, wouldn't the cage itself be copyrighted by WWE since they own WCW? Or are cages free use?

    In kayfabe, with the rules of the match being that you had to go through the door with the belt to win, why wouldn't anyone just climb down the sides of all 3 cages instead of going back into the 2nd and 1st cages where the wrestlers are?

    @@mattmaverick3602 okay let’s say for instance someone does this… what’s to stop all of their opponents from going “hey dude is climbing down, let’s go wait for him…” what exactly is the benefit of trying to climb down only to add more steps to the process by going back in and then out again….?

  • @mattmaverick3602

    @mattmaverick3602

    @@richardtherichard26 I'd imagine by the time anyone has climbed to the 3rd cage and got the belt, wrestlers in the match are most likely banged up and fatigued, and a sizable portion of them are probably not in the 1st cage anymore anyways. I'd still say it's worth it if they climb down the second cage wall opposite of the door and down the first cage wall where they're least likely to have someone wait for them. At that point, the only people they'd have to worry about is the people on the floor or in the ring.

  • @mattmaverick3602

    @@richardtherichard26 But even then, why don't most of the wrestlers just wait for one of the guys to become impatient and climb up to get the belt and wait like Nash did? Why make a match where you could theoretically do nothing while other people do all of the work to climb to get the belt? Better yet, why not just book the match the way it was at Slamboree 2000 when all you had to do was just climb to the top and grab the belt? To prevent Nash from having to climb because there was no way in hell he was capable of doing so? There really weren't better matches they could have had for him to be in to accomplish the goal of him retaining? Just having the Triple Tier Cage on Nitro for the sake of popping a rating against a red-hot WWF when they were so cold, they were almost at absolute zero? My brain hurts trying to make sense of anything Vince Russo booked in 2000. I think his brain literally was bashed in to infinity at that point so yeah...

    Russo came to WCW saying fuck Japanese wrestlers and nobody cares about them, then there was a racial discrimination lawsuit, then Muta started getting booked by Russo. Go back to when Russo first got to WCW, there was a previous agreement with Bischoff's regime to have Jushin Liger defend the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title on Nitro. Russo wanted none of that. He had Juventud smash a tequila bottle over Liger's head and take the title without New Japan's consent.
