Trevor’s always been interesting. Despite his many issues, inside he’s loyal and has his positives. I always thought the mother scene was a hallucination designed to show the players why Trevor is probably the way that he is.

I think Trevor's mother was just a hallucination. You can see the green fog during that cut scene, which is only visible if a character is on drugs. This hallucination only happens after the main story is complete, because during the story, Trevor was constantly stressed over Michael's betrayal and all of the other shit happening. After everything was dealt with, his mind moved on to the next thing, which was prob thinking of his mother Also, his mother seems to be in prison in Canada. Trevor lives in the middle of fucking nowhere in San Andreas. There's no fucking way his mother knows where he lives!
