    Eric, I think you and Trevor are a great team. I feel like Trevor was talking to me directly with what he used to do in the range when just hitting golf balls, watching videos, adding new thoughts and confusing himself. That’s exactly what I do and I’ve lost my swing so many times because I keep going back to the same thing. Thank you guys. Going to rewatch this.

    This is the video I need to fix my swing. I've seen the previous video with Eric and Trevor covering this subject. The two hardest things for me to do is execute a "tension-free" swing, and to "watch the golf ball disappear" (keep my head down) before moving my head. I think I'm going to watch this video multiple times until I can execute a tension-free swing like Trevor does here. I really believe this is the answer. Thanks Eric and Trevor for continuing to bring great content to help us old duffers get around the course a bit better.

    This is a great video coupled with your next video describing the gravity component of the club acceleration. You have a minimum energy in the swing which is set via the height of the club at the top of the backswing. Presuming you don't oppose the potential energy in your downswing the 10% swing is actually 10% + the potential energy that is successfully retained in the club and is transferred to the ball. I think that is why it feels amazing to swing the club so effortlessly and still see the ball travel a substantial % of your full swing. Just directing the potential energy of the club efficiently comprises a substantial amount of the energy used to move the ball.

    Love the way Trevor uses mph to accurately describe the arms-to-body speed ratio (6 -> 1). What helps me is to think of transition from P3 (lead arm parallel in the backswing) to P5 (lead arm parallel in the downswing). I call P3 -> P5 the “Chill Zone” or the “No Speed Zone.” Correlates perfectly with Trevor’s key teaching points in this video. Thanks, Eric, for collaborating with Trevor and creating this video! 👊👊

    I just took a club outside of my office and did this without a ball...and honestly, it's amazing how slowing down like that makes you "feel" your swing as you say. I've been swaying too much and coming over the top on my downswing and this is the first time I could feel and immediately correct those mistakes during the swing itself. 10/10 video.

  • @CogornoGolf

    @CogornoGolf

    9 ай бұрын

    Exactly! So 2 things: 1. If they are traveling the fastest at the start of the swing.....and you want to get the hips open.....wouldnt it serve to FEEL like you slow them down some? Since they are automatically going to go fast there you just want them to go ....."LESS FAST" lol As we mentioned in video arms/hands 30mph and body 5.....so we are just trying to give the body a chance.....no matter what we do arms will go fast.....we are just FEELING like we are delaying that a bit. 2. FEELS vs REALS....and what CAUSES the hand speed. When you FEEL no arms/hands and just body the arms are STILL moving ....a lot!

  • @Julie12377

    I guess I took the hand speed data and consciously try to increase the hand speed straight down from the top. I’ve seen major champ tips swinging back with ball in right hand holding wrist with lead hand and trying to throw the ball down in front of trail leg as hard as possible. So I’m confused

  • @djpoints

    @djpoints

    9 ай бұрын

    @@Julie12377read those responses above. There's golf gold in them. The point is whether you do slow-mo swing or reg swing the speed of the hands will automatically be the highest from top on way down to hip height. This is due to gravity. The slo-mo drill helps to sync this motion up with the hips, all while reinforcing proper ratio of swing speed at top vs bottom. As you speed up drill, ratio is maintained (still fastest at top).

And they ARE going to travel much faster than the body.... And we want the body to have time to open.... doesn't it make sense then to FEEEL.....FEEEL.....like you slow them down to give the body a chance to win the race? Like Trevor said in video we will NEVER actually get the arms slowed to body's speed. Arms 30 mph and body 5. We are just trying to give the body a chance!"

    I slowed my speed down to 1 mph and the ball went a 1000 yards!

    You make great videos with amazing content. One thing I'm noticing lately is a lot of videos repeat the same exact footage multiple times during the video. That's not really necessary.

    Appreciate the feedback! Often a fine line I think between repeating that is GOOD (for learning purposes) and repeating that is too much. Will keep an eye on it!

    @@CogornoGolf hey Eric I recently discovered why I’ve been struggling badly with the game.. mainly because I’ve been lining up and trying to crush the ball using my arms.. I believe this is the single most reason amateurs don’t move forward and ultimately give up! (It’s very difficult for golfers to wrap their head around) thanks for your reply btw

    Before you advertise a creatine type product, you need to make people aware of the dangers of this type of product if someone has kidney problems. Just shows how much some people will advertise anything for money. I won't be watching this channel any more!

    Thank you so much! I love the explicit instruction with easy to follow sequences. I look forward to practicing this.
