This video was like watching an archeologist's documentary! Every find was a treasured item that tells the story of the people who came before! You have such an appreciation of the history and how wonderful you are taking steps to preserve or utilize your finds! Kitty steps in the concrete... now that's priceless archeology treasure!

They ARE black currants! Just saw that they'd ripened black! Excited to try and make tea from the leaves!
The first time I visited Europe (as a teenager, half a century ago), my little room at a B&B in England felt like a cave: it had been wallpapered so many times there were no corners or edges anywhere. Everything was rounded at wall and ceiling joins. I remember wishing I had X-ray eyes to see through it all!

What a treat to see all these treasures. Thank you for sharing, and making such an interesting video. Europeans who emigrated to Canada created farms and tools just like home. My grandparents farm looked just like this, in the end. No one to appreciate all the treasures, at that time - so sad. You are doing a wonderful service to history and showing how much has been lost in disrespecting our past.

Don't you just love when your old house talks to you? I get excited when I start noticing things that aren't immediately apparent. I love that you are documenting your changes as well. Mine is about 2 inches wide and about 8 inches long. It’s flat, unlike a crowbar. I use it to pry off trim or to remove the vertical “parting”strip between double-hung windows. And, it fits nicely in a tool or tackle box. Love your treasures!@@BenitaLarsson
I love the stories of buildings. Our little barn has all of the tractor oil changes from the 1940's through the 1970s logged on the wall. I can't imagine finding a potential Neolithic artifact! I love seeing you having so much fun with this project.

I am an archaeologist and have worked at sites from the 1800s here in the States. Lovely to see you document with such precision and care! If you are ever removing grass/topsoil and find a well-defined, square area of darkened earth, that’s likely an old privy (outhouse) site. Lots of treasures and information in there for us…maybe not for everyone else 😅. Keep up the great work!

Ah, the lovely table! I’m pretty sure it’s an old card table. We have a similar one, with a hinged table top. It’s folded out when used for cards (or more likely, fika 💕), and doubled up when used as a narrow wall-hugging table. Our table top pieces were badly bent over the years, so we use it with only one piece, just like you are. The top is rotated 90 degrees when folded out, using the plug-like mechanism. That way it’s more sturdy than just folding it out onto the extra leg.

I always suggest that you live in a home for a year before changing the landscaping. You never know what will pop up! Clearing and trimming all the trees and bushes is necessary not only for access but it helps the plants too. But you know that. What interesting things you've done uncovered. I'm sure you'll find something very interesting to do with those iron fence pieces. Maybe a base for flowering vines or tomatoes? Anyway, lots of work but very worthwhile.
