Helen Joyce is a gem. I have learned so much from listening to her. We need more intelligent, common sense, pragmatic, ethical individuals like her managing key sectors of our society. But then it would be a perfect world.

Really? How many people truly have gender dysphoria? How many people have been conned into believing it by woke, agenda pushing bullies inside the education system?

Helen's knowledge and capacity for research is truly astounding. Think about this: she's a mathematician/statistician with a background on economic journalism. Yet she's able to break down the healthcare pathway for gender dysphoric kids, even knowing the practical role of an endocrinologist to check bloods etc., and then diagnosing the problem in the process. It's not like she has any sort of background to know that, so she must have investigated it very intrinsically.

What a sensible woman, and I don't write that just because she affirms my views on the subject, she gives reasons.

This extends down to the activist who will argue for it. They will do one of these things: 1. Double down. They'll insist the science didn't consider some vital factor or their own individual "journey" as though that would make any difference in raw data over a large sample size. 2. Gaslight like crazy. Many will say, "I supported trans rights. I didn't mean I supported it done to children." They'll say this when a year before they were posting proud pictures of their transitioning child. 4. Blame the medical community for misleading them. Even though they probably didn't question either. Or listen to their child in a cult that claims its all about listening. And the people most familiar with the data and research were all saying the opposite! 5. Disappear. Many will get off social media and be dissuaded from additional activism. 6. A precious few will take full responsibility for their ignorance and begin to advocate against it.

I'm just a 78 year old retired First Sergeant who was reared to respect my fellow man; but, I couldn't make heads nor tails of Helen's response to you, Mr Anderson. I guess I'll just be comfortable being a 'dinosaur' and let the following generations sort it out. I do grieve at the mistreatment of our progeny though. I have mentored many; however their concept of their gender never came up - - - I just don't understand how a rational human being can interrupt or sabotage what has been the norm for thousands of years.

What concerns me the most about gender affirming care is that we have zero idea what the long-term effects of such procedures will be because almost none of these procedures were done a mere decade ago. According to an article from John Hopkins from 2018, from 2000-2014, the National Institute of Science recorded a bit over 37,000 instances of "transsexualism or gender identity disorder"- about 2700 per year- and only >>11%
