The transformative power of orchestration
This piece of music was written by Adam Messaoud and I was hired to give the arrangement a complete makeover. In today's video I show how orchestration has the power to transform a composition.

Mattia, once again, thanks so much for this! I’ve learned so much already from this collaboration with you, and now seeing your thought process behind the orchestration in this video has offered me even more incredibly useful feedback. I truly appreciate it. Great work!

That was a LOVELY arrangement! Beautifully done; thank you for sharing and discussing it with us. :)
This is the kind of video that lift us all, for the inspiration, for the insights and for the impressive skill handling such complicated arrangements. Thank you fot taking the time and your generous gift to thousands of fans! MOMA Sweden
I wanted to thank you for the work you always share with us! It's not taken for granted that you teach us so much. I watch your videos daily and learn incredibly from them. Sometimes, I can implement what I've learned, and at other times, it's not easy to achieve skill-wise. It's even more beautiful when I can use your tutorials as a support to help me progress.

Yeah it’s hard, took years of practice
Wonderful work that shows knowledge and enormous musicality. Congratulations!
Fantastic 🔥🔥🔥
How to be always interesting with one repetitive theme. That's our goal and not really simple. I noticed you like runs, and adding some woodwinds and strings ostinatos. Thank you for this video Mattia. 😉😍
Spettacolare!!!!
madó che bravo che sei 👏👍
Awesome work !!! Now for us nerds please list the libraries you used 😄😄😄

Hey, weird question maybe, but would you mind sharing your camera setup? Camera, lens, lighting etc.?

Hey I use a Sony a6400 with a sigma 30mm lens. My key light is an amaran 100d and the rest is just a bunch of lamps from ikea

@@MattiaChiappa Thanks! I guess you also use a softbox as well? If so, mind sharing the diameter? I actually have a very similar setup but don't get anywhere near such a nice and blurry background with the same exact lens. I suppose you simply have a deeper room then, creating more depth of field. Looking neat!

Yeah, it’s 28inch. This is a really small room so I doubt that’s what it is but sure stepping away from the wall is going to help a bit. Make sure to use the widest aperture your lens allows, mine is f/1.4.
Sorry bro, I really like your piece, but it wasn't "TO PICTURE." I started out in music and then moved to film, had deals, made features, etc. The original piece you are reworking might have been perfect for the film, we cannot tell, right? We cannot see the context it was supposed to be heard, right. I might like your piece better, just listening to the music, but might not think it works better for the film "To Picture." Does that make sense?

Sorry I miss heard you, you said "it wasn't" done to picture, my bad. But, the point is still interesting, and about the same, right: Unless there is a context then it isn't easy to say one approach is better than another. @@MattiaChiappa

@charliemcgrain Sure! The goal was quite simply improve the composer did but also keep the essence and of it
