  • @jacobbcox1985

    @jacobbcox1985

    3 жыл бұрын

    Kiffin was as after he left but now not close. When you look at everything I understand. Kiffin dream job was always USC. Now UT was a big job but he had a chance to coach his dream job and took it. UT was a faithful girl that look good but USC was the playmate dream girl that was dishonest. He was lied to by USC on the possibility of scholarships and bowl ban. He basically got burned by them and fired. The guy is hilarious and has the most swagger of any coach other than Freeze. Kiffin if Pruitt didn't have us in a mess is the guy we would have hired if we kept Pruitt and finished his contract. Lane made his mistake openly admits he wish he stayed at Tennessee and he often says he is a Tennessee fan still. Just he made a mistake cause his dream job came calling I can't hate him. Its like a UT fan getting a chance to coach UT aka Johnny Majors.

    At some point you have to start asking questions about the leadership structure at Tennessee. This is the 3rd failed coach in a row. Why does UT keep hiring the wrong coaches? I would suggest that there is an issue with who is really in charge of the football program. Is it the AD or the Boosters.Either way, its time to start looking at the leadership structure and ask why they keep picking the wrong guy. Just my opinion.

    Jeremy Pruitt failed because he had no answer at quarterback. He had too much faith in Jarrett Gurrantano, he never took that next step like Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Matt Corral, and Kyle Trask did. The offense could never sustain a drive especially on 3rd down, and that’s bad, because it’s all about offense in football now. The NFL and College Football has changed where you have to put up a ton of yards and points to win games.

    I really think that the mess that Tennessee is in goes back to them getting rid of Phillip Fuller as head coach. They replaced him with Lane Kiffin and that’s what started the downfall Derek Dooley Butch Jones and Jeremy Pruitt just made it a bigger mess. At big time universities it’s so important to get the right guy because one bad hire can hurt the program for decades.

    There are a few factual errors in this video. TN had an 8 game win streak going into the 2020 Georgia game, not 10 (6 wins to end 2019 + 2 to start 2020). Guarantano did not start every game of the Pruitt era (Mauer/Shrout started a several games in 2019 - Mauer 4 games and Shrout 1 game - before Guarantano won back his status as starter in the Mizzou game, not to mention Bailey starting the final 3 games of 2020) - not to mention the constant mispronunciation of his name (hard "G", not a "Gw" sound) as well as Chryst's name. The main reason Bailey didn't push Guarantano for the starting job for the 2020 season was the cancellation of spring practice due to Covid (and perhaps QB coach Chris Weinke's inability to develop a qb) and being in quarantine for the same at the beginning of fall drills, yet that important contextual fact is absent in this video. This is not to say it is a terrible video. I only say this to encourage you that having your facts - and even your pronunciation of names - correct goes a long way in giving your informational videos on Vols football credibility with the fanbase.

    Thinking death penalty is absurd. The only way the NCAA would give another team the death penalty is if they were already under sanctions. Even then, the damage it did to SMU did more damage than the NCAA thought it would.

    If Louisville didn't get the death penalty, nobody else will. They were caught in multiple sports while already on probation.

    If you followed Tennessee Football you could tell something was Wrong in Recruiting. Getting players from Memphis , unproven coaches signing 5 and 4 star recruits. Fulmer should have known what was going on.

    I can tell you exactly what went wrong. It happens all the time. These schools are looking for the next best coach and they end up hiring some of these guys that just isn’t ready to run the show. Just because a coach does great job as a position coach or coordinator doesn’t necessarily mean he’s ready to be a head coach. That’s a whole Nother level. And only a few are ready and capable in making a change along with being successful. I think Jeremy Pruitt can do it after he spends about 10 or 12 years as an assistant coach. He just hasn’t put in enough time yet to learn how to manage and needs more time to grow

    The Vols have had Booster Club/wealthy alum issues since the 1960's. They need to get out their history books and take a long, hard look at themselves. NO ONE is going to fix that program on the field, until they clean it up off the field.

    I went to UT and have been a fan for a long time. Tennessee football is a cancer and anything that touched it is doomed to fail. I don’t know how it will turn and I’m afraid it won’t be during my lifetime. It’s so bad it doesn’t even bother us, the fans anymore. Sad to say that we’ve become used to losing and becoming the laughing stock of the SEC.

    I hate to pile on Jarret Guarnatano, but he was one of the main problems for this team. He just wasn’t a D1 QB. He was always scared to death and scared to get hit. He never would go through his reads to find an open receiver and probably knew who he was going to before the ball was even snapped. And he was always late in his passes. Held into the ball too long. Most of JG’s completions were check downs and 50/50 balls. Seriously. I think Pruitt thought he was the best man for the job because he performed better in practice and protected the ball more…but alot it QB’s look good in practice because they know no one is coming for them or trying to hit them..but when the game is live they are nervous and second guessing themselves. That was JG.

    The problem at Tennessee was at QB we all could see it . JG put the ball anywhere but the right spot almost every time look at the video . It don't matter what you think of Jones or Pruitt neither get there thinking Garantano is right for the job . I knew it and I was only ever a volunteer coach .If I can see it either Jones or Pruitt surely could . The real problem may never see the light of day but every game JG played there were better QBs on the bench that got better results in games that year relying only on High school instinct ..

    @Paul Roberts. Well Crompton wasn’t too wonderful either but he did do better in the Lane Kiffin system . Justin Worley was in no way going to be an NFL up and comer but he was serviceable. I think Tyler Bray potentially was the most natural , gifted QB UT has had in the 21 Century . He was cut from that California fabric that produced Tom Brady and Aaron Rogers . Yet gifted only gets you so far . The Tennessee Volunteer’s football future appears to be dismal , but Vol fans seemed to have gotten used to it . I am an old man now and I remember the days when the Ole Miss Rebels were the third winningest SEC team of all time with the Vols being second . Number 1 ? Well the Tide is simply a bad karma proof , pre ordained entity favored by the Football Gods . Oh yes they are !
