One thing I find intresting, is how traditionally, for almost all of history, Central and Eastern Europe have always been way stronger than the west, until much more recently, the new world was discoverd. Even then, mainland Europe was still dominated by Eastern and Central powers until the 18th and 19th century. Even if the west, had colonies elsewhere.

Yeah but their system was flawed: Much like the Austrians after them, the Ottomans made no successful move in converting the people they occupied to their creed. Furthermore, the Ottomans were largely dependent on the Balkans since their own territory was not as rich. Their military was also the Janissaries, European slaves from birth since all territories under Ottoman control (but not directly annexed) had to be give their firstborn sons over to the Ottomans. This meant that the moment the Habsburgs began to nibble on the Balkans it was over for the Ottomans. If the Ottomans had tried to convert everyone to Islam they definitelly would have had less internal peace in the short term, but in the long term they would have succeeded. I, for one, am happy they failed, since I'm Romanian.

I agree with them not being able to covert everyone to Islam being a problem. They ended up trying to do so by force, which makes no sense since Islam has laws which are against forcing one to change religions (people don't know this fact thanks to The many extremist groups out there who spread false information and make everyone have a bad impression on the religion) The ottomans could've introduced the religion through peace, inviting people rather than enforcing. Enforcing literally led to more internal conflicts, and more rebellions. And those who werent keen on joining Islam, didnt need to pay extra taxes. Instead they could've been treated equally. If they had gotten proper control over the Balkans, they could've defeated the Habsburgs. and probably controlled more of Europe. Instead they fell apart badly. But well good for you I guess, since you're Romanian 🇷🇴

@@randomguy6152 Slavs settled on the Eastern european plain long time ago, after they left Indostan to find new lands. When Rus state was formed much earlier than mongolian nomads could ever thought of uniting. It stayed as a sovereign country from 862 to 1241, it developed it's own culture and nationhood unlike mongols who could stay united only while they were fighting for lands. Once they stopped the wars and tried to form a state, they failed. That's some real nomad mentality for you

D’ailleurs je pense que c’est tout le contraire car comme l’on est vu comme un pays super-puissant ça étonne tout le monde que l’on soit vaincu en si peut de temps. Nous les français. Les gaulois. Les génie de la tactique militaire et de la solidarité. Par exemple la pologne elle, (est un beau et magnifique pays et personne ne me fera changer d’avis. Ainsi beaucoup peuvent te reprendre et contrer indéniablement ton commentaire en faisant l’éloge de la France et avec un peu de recherches sur les lois militaires. La doctrine militaire de la France notamment qui a principalement joué dans cet évènement de 1940. A été pour des spécialistes de la seconde guerre mondiale la raison majeure qui a mener la France à une telle défaite.
