Today, we are covering the top 8 tallest skyscrapers in New York City as of 2022. Starting off we have the Bank of America tower, one of the most energy efficient buildings. Followed by a Manhattan Classic: The Empire State building at #7 on this list. Followed by a brand new building in a brand new neighborhood: 30 Hudson Yards featuring the edge. At number 5... a controversial luxury skyscraper: 432 Park Ave famous for it's design inspired by a trash bin. Number 4 is One Vanderbilt, a relatively new office building with one of the coolest observation decks featuring a bar, restaurant, and the infinity room. At number 3 is the skinniest skyscraper in the world- 111 West 57th Street home to some of New York City's most expensive penthouses. Similarly, at number 2 we have Central Park Tower along Billionaire's row featuring the world's most expensive penthouse that just listed for $250 million by Ryan Serhant. And number One is One World Trade Center standing at a symbolic 1,776 feet in the air as part of the new world trade center complex, this is building one of seven proposed.

Why do the Arabs and Dubai and China have towers that are more lengthy than ours? I hope that the lengths of a tower in the world will be in Miami 200 floors, the same Arabs
Me, working in Rockefeller Center and being shook at being 40 floors above the city seeing that people are living on 80th floor Penthouses in a building that sways like a ship on a windy day: 😰😰

Empire State Building isn't the oldest skyscraper in NYC. It was built 11 months after the Chrysler Building. In fact, I think the Flatiron Building holds the title for oldest skyscraper in the city.

Looks like you need to "learn to listen", or is it just your English is so poor? boo boo----really?!? what are you, some kind of queenie sausage bandit. I have a panoramic view of Manhattan from my home in NJ. I don't care for Hudson Yards. It blocked my view of the Chrysler Building. It's a dense cluster of unattractive architecture. The building design should have been more cohesive and unified. I also don't care for One World Trade. The landscape design is very good but the building itself is not a esthetically pleasing. The Empire State Building and the two new super tall residential buildings on west 57th are great looking buildings. I actually get a little vertigo stand on the sidewalk looking up at the two nee buildings on W 57th Street.

Videos coming out of EU only use metric so we have to translate into ft. so we just returned the favor.
1 World Trade Center's correct figures: Architectural height - 1782 ft., Height to tip of lightning rod - 1798 ft. These heights are taken from the north entrance on Vesey St. The building has 94 floors.

Interesting...
Great video, but The Empire State Building is no where near "the oldest skyscraper in New York". There are too many older skyscrapers to mention, but The Chrysler Building, The Woolworth Building, The Flat Iron Building, 40 Wall Street, and The Metropolitan Life Insurance Building are just a few examples of spectacular skyscrapers older than the Empire State Building and are all still standing...
How's the '80 building interiors?
The foundation of 432 Park Avenue...it can be renovated by strong cements....start from the first floor or basement...

Uh?
I was just looking up that $250 million penthouse. How did you read my mind? Edit : tiny correction on the Central Park tower, Iam pretty sure its way taller than the 98 floors you mentioned. The triplex penthouse goes from the 129 through 131 floors. And there are some floors above that for maintenance acess
@urbaninternational
Жыл бұрын
There've been different numbers I saw researching. Some say it's 95, 98, 131 and 137 and some say there are floor #'s that are skipped. They also don't mention if they're counting residential floors or all floors including the Nordstrom building at the bottom of the tower
@alienamzal477
Жыл бұрын
@@urbaninternational ah, that makes sense. Your sources probably dont count the maintenance floors either. In the official listing by the Serhant Group x Extell, it mentions the penthouse being the 129 through 131. The website by extell even has published the plans of the house, with each floor number and square footage, very impressive property in the sky
@urbaninternational

@@alienamzal477 Ah that explains it. Maintenance floors... I feel like every news article I could find had different numbers. But none of them specified maintenance vs. residential floors
so 30 hudson yard building building was inspired by iron man 3 movie lol😬

Central Park Tower is the tallest building in New York . Fact.

they need to build tower 2 for WTC and make it the exact same but remove the trash spire and raise it to 2001 feet in honor of the victims

Check out new JP Morgan headquarter under construction , it will be among the tallest in NYC . And it's not skinny
@urbaninternational
Жыл бұрын
Yesss it's going to be impressive
Roof height of OWT is 1,368. NYC lobbied to have the spire count in total footage, but virtually no real architectural firms (or governments) recognize this as its true height. NYC and Chicago both have towers hundreds of feet taller than OWT. What is with the factual problems on this channel? Other commentors and I have caught several in multiple videos.
@jacques2659
Жыл бұрын
Read NYC legal coding of OWT, even NYC government itself doesn't recognize the silly 1700+ foot designation. Legally, the tower is 1.3K feet -- the 1.7K foot definition is for clickbait and tourists.
5 WTC will be residential, and it will start construction in 2023.
@urbaninternational
Жыл бұрын
That is actually awesome to look forward to when it's complete
For the love of dear God please use Meters 😭. Don’t just use ft, I literally have to go search up how much that is in meters smh
Who else agrees that CTBUH's classifications of tallest buildings are worthless? Central Park Tower is certainly taller than One WTC. A spire or antennae; who cares? A person can stand on a floor higher than than the roof of One WTC.
@urbaninternational
Жыл бұрын
That's valid. They classify buildings in weird ways, so yes by roof height of the tallest floor, it would be taller
@joelangford7601
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is certainly misleading to call One WTC the tallest building in NYC. It simply isn't true. The spire is a spire. It is not part of the building.
Two Is the tallest.
Great video! One tiny request for your future videos: use metric. The vast majority of the world's people uses metric. Thank you.
@alienamzal477
Жыл бұрын
Or atleast add the conversion to metric on screen
When you look at it from the true height ( roof ) it's a much different story . They stick a matchstick on top and count it as the building height , what a joke.
@urbaninternational
Жыл бұрын
Very true, I probably should've also specified how the list would be rearranged to account for roof height b/c most lists that call it the 1st tallest only go off the spire
432 park was built non union. save money get crap!!
