It's a great one! And among the earliest major special effects movies featuring stop motion animation by Willis O'Brien.

If there could be a remake of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, I think Danny DeVito could be perfect as The Doctor Caligari himself (the Doctor Caligari could have the same face as The Penguin from Batman Returns since Danny DeVito played The Penguin himself in Batman Returns). While Johnny Depp could play Cesare the somnambulist who is hypnotized by the Doctor Caligari (Cesare could have the same face as Edward Scissorhands from the movie of the same name since Johnny Depp played Edward Scissorhands himself in the movie of the same name). So this remake of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari could be directed by me and Tim Burton because sometimes, Danny DeVito and Johnny Depp work with Tim Burton himself.

Great list. 10 of your top 20 are on my top 20 list of that decade, 9 I haven’t seen, and only Haxan falls slightly behind. Of the more famous ones of the decade, I’d include, A Man With a Camera, by Vertov, The Idoe Clas, by Chaplin and Greed, by Von Storheim. You have become a reference to me. Congrats

Very good list, but I missed The Passion of Joan of Arc, Faust, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, The Phantom of the Opera, The Last Laugh (Der Letze Mann), and Man With a Movie Camera. Where to fit them in though would be a problem, but each is a really great piece of film-making. The twenties were very good and so adventurous in their film-making, with lots of techniques tried for the first time. Oh, and I'd have Pandora's Box as the best 20s film (even over my favourites Sunrise and Metropolis) because of Louise Brook's acting, so modern in its essence.

Amazing video! I'm still in the 1910's on my quest to watch a movie from every year, so I haven't seen many films from the 1920's yet, but an underrated one would be A Page of Madness from 1926. Check it out if you haven't seen it. BTW, I know this is the wrong video to ask this, but do you have any suggestions for films from 1915? I ask because I rather not sit through a certain three hour long hate film right now.

Thanks! I'll check out A Page of Madness. For 1915, I'm not a fan, but Birth of a Nation is an incredibly well made film .

@@1-2many No problem, mate. I'll probably watch it eventually for research, but I guess I could always just watch The Cheat or a Chaplin movie and Les Vampires always exist, even if parts of it were made in 1916.

Don't you think that Metropolis diserves a remake ? If nobody does a Metropolis remake, I'm gonna do it. It could be a Tim Burton-like remake. I mean it could be filmed the same way as Tim Burton. This remake could be distribued by Warner Bros and produced by New Line Cinema. And it could happen in the year 2251 because in 2026, the world will not look like in the original movie directed by Fritz Lang. (Note : I've just seen on the french Wikipedia page that Metropolis takes place in 2026)

There will be a remake of Nosferatu coming out this year and I think Danny DeVito could have been perfect as Knock the estate agent 😢
