I think Alan is definitely a runner up, and he’d likely be on a Top 10 bad guy list as well. He made an excellent scheming partner with Annie Dutton as well!

I'm surprised that Dorian Lord from One Life To Live didn't make this list...but then Dorian did have a few redeeming qualities that kept her from being truly evil

I’d have to put James Stenbeck at the top..tied with Stefano Dimera…you never knew what these two would do next. I also loved Carlo Hesser…and I would have had Roger Thorpe higher on the list

Roger raped Rita, as well, and kidnapped her and that led to Rita losing her baby. I think he returned and married Amanda Spaulding, Alan's sister (originally said to be his daughter.)

Hands down no one was worse than Zack Kelton played by Leigh, notable mention to Robert Barr played by the late Roscoe

Ryan Chamberlain, Olivia Jerome, Victor Cassadine, Peter August and Heather were really scary characters too. GH comes out with some great characters which are terrifying.

Yes, since the Todd story was retconned when Roger Howarth returned to the show years later, we wanted to to capture that Trevor did play Todd, since he did the romance story with Marty while he had Todd’s memories and still acted upon his feelings as if he was Todd. And yes, loved both versions of Janet, but I think Robin Mattson’s version was extra amazing!

Stefano Dimera is the greatest villain of all time. Vivian takes a comedic second. People who play the villains are such good sports. I used to scream when Stefano came on scene. Joseph aka Stefano really did a good job.

I don’t know if I consider Victor a villain. He’s kind of like Sonny Corinthos. They do some bad things but in the end always come out helping others. James Stenbeck and Stefano Dimera never helped anyone unless it benefited them in some way.

@@everythingsoapopera Have any villains ever been on more than one soap besides Sheila? I can't think of any. I know that the character of Skye Chandler -Quartermaine set a record for appearing on All My Children, One Life To Live, and General Hospital ALL.....and though she wasnt a villain on the scale of THESE on this list she certainly is an amazing, complex, and rather tortured character.

I used to see in many articles that Stefano DiMera was #1 and the runner up was James Stenbeck. It seemed that between Stefano and James, they were pretty equal but Stefano ranked higher mainly because he had faked his death more times.

His later returns were still important to the canvas, but a bit less devious than his earlier ones. But he definitely still ranked near the top for sure, and was a quintessential top soap villain for that era! 👍😀

Michael Zaslow, as Roger Thorpe on Guiding Light evil as they come, terrorized Springfield for years but he and Holly had the best chemistry of any soap couple ive ever watched. Thomas and Hope , B&B remind me of Roger and Holly ❤

Top 10. The whole storyline about the baby switch and everything Kristen put Susan through was pure evil (in the most enjoyable way). And when Kristen came back to Salem and played with Marlena... ah, those were the days! I think people often overlook Kristen as a villain because Stefano provided some help.

I have watched all the soaps from the villains on the list. Todd (OLTL) and Janet Green (AMC) really didn't make the impact as great villains as the other eight in the countdown for me.

Grew up watching Days of our Lives with my mawmaw as a kid. Stefano was always scary but I always had a soft spot for Sami Brady. She was amazing! I was so sad when she left the show that I stopped watching.

Maria Roberts, Cord's mother and both Tina & Viki's nemesis on One Life to Live - short lived, but unforgettable. The epitome of delusional, deranged evil, played magnificently by BarBara Luna. Half the people on your list probably took notes from Maria!

From Guiding Light: Roger Thorpe, Annie Dutton, Blake Marler (Sherry Stringfield's version) and Dinah Marler (Wendy Moniz's version). Sheila from Y&R/B&B David from Y&R Stefano and Kristen from Days Todd from OLTL

I haven't watched the list yet but if Todd Manning is not at least in the top three the list is not valid Todd is the ultimate villain has a few redeeming qualities with a couple of his family members other than that he would let you die of fiery death and wouldn't piss on you
