A transcription of "We're Still Here/He's Alright" by Wycliffe Gordon, including all his solo parts and some of the band cues as well. I hope you enjoy, this was a fun one to transcribe!

Crazy to see Chip McNeill as first tenor - I've been been to several jazz camps with him as one of the teachers and have played in the band he directed. Great guy, monster player.

YES! So, augusta university hosts jazz bands and I just played in one of them. He directs the high school and uni band. I was in the middle school band and he came to play a tune for us with gum in his hand! I even got a chance to solo in front of him during the f blues section. The fact that he nonchalantly whips out licks is crazy.
I played a church gig with Wycliffe one time... still can't really believe it.
Gonna be playing with this dude tomorrow at the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. It’s such an honor

Wycliffe is absolutely one of the contemporary jazz GOATS!!!!!
My favourite music video of all time. I wish singers could sing like these instruments. (I know some of them do, but never in a collaboration such as this)

There is just a feeling of pure "Rythmic Stability" with this song. Your ears and brain just melt with satisfaction.
the last chord of this is amazing, i could listen to that alone all day 5:03
The seeming ease and total clarity at 3:31 just blows my mind. I think of myself as a pretty good trombone player but damn!
Loved the transcription, but a slight mistake I noticed: In the singing at 3:18, he doesn't say "I'm gonna pick em out ..." but says "I'm gonna pick up my trombone ..." :)
no one realizes how hard the last notes wycliffe played are, fluttering on an f5 is incredibly hard
Thank you for using bass clef through the whole thing. I can read things Edit: i can read more than bass clef now
0:56 hey that’s my old jazz director lmao, i do remember watching this stream with the rest of different bands and we were cheering for hom

The diggeridoo sound is multiphonics. Play one note, sign another.
Put some STANK on it, baby. Oh my gosh he put so much STANK on it. The most soulful music you'll ever hear
LOL until Measure 38 I felt it totally wrong; I wasn't looking at the screen while I was listening so I thought the horn hits were on 1 and 2 so when measure 38 happened it was jarring and I thought I was missing something

bro at 4:22 the sax has no ligature 0.0 Is this a normal thing and dude has like a synthetic reed that's somehow connected to the mouthpiece or does he have a sleeve of some sorts?
