Coming from a storm he created himself. The orchestra part was on him and he even directed them. Without it, John's song wouldn't have gone so far, that's what made them a great team

Apparently Paul’s house in London was the ultimate party house. Everyone partied there and just slept wherever. That all changed when Linda entered his life. God rest her soul.

I knew a guy named Malcolm Wild and he said he and his band mate went to Paul's and called to him from the gate, and he came out... After the bobbies came first. But then he talked to them and sent the cops away, and they talked awhile longer. They shared Jesus with him and he knew more than them, Malcolm and Alwyn said. ("Well he knew but he could not say"?)

Pauls part works perfectly in the song as a bit of hope to the sadness to johns lyrics, its about life and pauls psrt is life too... plus he gets high and goes back to johns dreamy part. If the 30 seconds of paul was a full song id hate it but as another layer of A day in the life it improved the masterpiece. Also Paul came up with the crescendo parts!

Paul‘s part perfectly encapsulates that momentary distraction from feelings of existential dread (that’s how I interpret the string part) through being busy with everyday life activities.

Paul wasn't a vegetarian in 1967 (and it really had nothing to do with the video anyway). Paul's part is crucial and quite great. The "John Cale" part (the orchestra) was Paul's idea as well. John had no idea how to turn his song fragment into a whole song. A Day in the Life was definitely a 50/50 Lennon/McCartney song.

  • @johnsrous1616

True. I'm not sure what, exactly being a vegetarian had to do with any of that video. If it was a fegrading episode to Paul he'd likely take it out intentionally next song's lyrics

Wrong!! The middle eight was Paul's idea(unfinished song fragment). the orchestra part was John's idea this was confirmed by George Martin John wanted to make it sound like a crescendo about somebody about to get into a car crash that's why you hear the rise in the tempo and then the abrupt stop and the aftermath with the intense fading of the instruments played.

Oh, Nico, Paul's part makes the song. The song opens in this melancholic dream-space, lingering in despair and confusion. The orchestra is a mix of all the intense emotions we can feel in the face of that. The Paul bit is waking up. It's a typical morning routine, which seems like a respite because it's so jolly and self-assured. But then it completely falls apart. It slips back into John's dream, and we leave the song submerged in disassociation. The song only works with all of these parts.

I don’t write music I’m not good at speaking to people. I’m not good at speaking in general but I’m gonna challenge myself. I wanna keep coming back to this place and I’m going to try to finish this song that he’s trying to sing here. I don’t mean rewrite strawberry fields, I mean right from what on this take and what is it going to be about what it is and how I did it I don’t know. I guess I’ll see whoever is still here in the future hopefully, I don’t give up on this like I have on many things in life. Wish me luck :) 2023 Sunday 3 December

Why be musically insulted by someone as talentless as Nico? I'm guessing Paul wasn't as he let Nico stay ar his place for weeks. And even if he was, after generously offering Nico free room & board at his (most likely) Cavendish Ave London (premier location) home, he had the satisfaction of kicking her talentless butt to the curb. How do you like that for "truth hurts", eh femme fatale? BTW...did you write that song? 😂
