The most decorated Olympic sailor didn't always win gold. Though it did not include one of the 4 Olympic gold medals he won, Ben Ainslie's debut was an impressive one where at age 19 he won a silver Medal in the Laser, his first Olympic medal.

Scheidt was superior in 1996, just that. He was also superior to Ainslie in 2000. People forget that when both when to the last race, Scheidt had a large point advantage but he had a bad possible discart... Thus, it was Ainslie merit to perform the greatness olympic match racing ever and drop Robert behind, and win gold. But to this day, Robert was the better laser sailor (he won gold in 2004 in the Laser, Ainslie moved to the Finn where he also won). Two legends.
