I got so many “are you sure?” and “Did you try counseling?” when people found out about my divorce. I’m like 🤨 uuhhhh yeah I wouldn’t be leaving if it weren’t necessary. I hate how no one leads with “I can’t imagine how hard this is on you.” “I’m sorry you’re going through this”.
Divorce is a blessing. Imagine being stuck forever with someone you don’t like or hate.

Then you shouldn’t marry them in the first place. It’s a lifelong commitment between two people. I’ve been married for 30 years and it has never been awful or a question. If you love someone then that love never ends. It just gets better with life and life experiences together. It’s not that complicated. I really think if a marriage doesn’t work out then it wasn’t love to begin with.

@@pamelasmith6221That's YOUR experience. Who are YOU to say that someone's relationship or marriage wasn't ever love? That's incredibly self righteous n rude!! Looks like u are one of those ppl who assume they know what's happening behind closed doors. My ex husband n I had a wonderful marriage n truly loved each other. Long story short..he got very sick n had to have brain surgery. He healed from his illness n his surgery but whatever they did to his brain changed him. He was never the same..he became someone I didn't know.. complete personality change. I tried to stay..tried counseling..tried it all but he didnt think anything was wrong n couldn't see that the brain surgery had altered his personality. In addition to that ppl change..a friend of mine worked on her marriage for years after he husband became an ab*sive addict. Sometimes things happen n no matter how hard u try they cannot be fixed. Again..u don't know someone's life behind closed doors n the struggle n pain they are enduring to try to fix things n make it work BECAUSE they love someone. Its great that your experience was a good one but, reality check...life isn't a fairy-tale...things just happen n there are things that can't be fixed by love alone. I still have love for my ex..I'm not in love with him anymore but I still care about him n maintain a good co -parenting relationship with him bc our kids love him.

I don’t get from this clip how Kelly was “shamed”?? All the person said to her was relationships are hard. If anything, that sounds like they were trying to be empathetic… Am I missing something here??
*Celebrities who don't air their dirty laundry are becoming more rare...we love you Ms Clarkson!*
Kelly, never doubt yourself, the journey is yours and yours alone! The decisions we make belong to us, no one can tell us we are wrong if they haven’t walked in our shoes. Do what’s in your heart to do and don’t look back, only look up, he’s got you and that’s all that counts!
Noone needs to judge another, for anything, just coming out of divorce myself, made it to the other side...took a while, but it does get there eventually 😖😁
Love her, but someone did her dirty with that makeup.
I absolutely LOVE this girl!!!!!!!!
How profound the person is going through this now. How wonderful she is in how she received the information and processed it, it speaks more of her character and who she is as a person, she shines and she will be better in the long run because she has the ability to process & make practical decisions which apply to herself and her family which is most important.
The exact same thing happened to me. I couldn't believe it. Divorce is the last thing I wanted, but there are one or two things that if a partner refuses to even address or work on, then you must leave and let go for your and you children's safety and well being. Period. Heartbreaking.
I had some family who did the same. Also, they are from the south. But she couldn't understand why he would divorce me. She says this over and over. I tell her I left him over and over. I tried to figure out why she had an issue. There are so many things women couldn't do and who would do it for me now! What?! I've always done the heavy stuff, too, and I could take my own car to the shop without getting taken. 🙃
People have a way of interpreting the truth they don't want to hear as being shamed.
Ooh poor Kelly!!! That is so hard you sweet sweet badass momma!
Saying relationships are hard is shaming? I wouldn't see it that way. Relationships ARE hard.

@@1369StilesI’m thinking the same thing. There had to be more context to that comment. Just saying “relationships are hard” alone isn’t shaming. I’m wondering if maybe the person was like, “well suck it up… relationships are hard and you’re just taking the easy way out…” or something like that. She should elaborate a little more.
Maybe she didn’t meant the way Kelly took her comment. Every relationships may be different with its ups and down. But we all could at least understand and related the pain it cause us when a relationship or/and marriage ends.

Exactly. From what Kelly said it seems like the guest was trying to be nice. "Relationships are hard." Relationships generally ARE hard. Hopefully there was more too it.

Kevin Costner? He was a guest on her show the week after her divorce went public, and he also went through a divorce.

@longlivedemocracy756

@@ElizabethT45Probably more was said. But that alone sounds a bit condescending. Who that is IN a long term relationship/marriage doesn’t already know it can be hard. After the first 6-12 months of “wedding glow” it can get “real”. That’s where you have to lean on the foundation that should have been building from the start. But sometimes it’s really out of your hands. We don’t always understand the motivations of others and many can be deceitful. Best to cut your losses and move forward…
Well relationships are hard, was that person lying???

And she says it was on her talk show, so, something that was going to be televised. And she says the person is now going through a divorce (so not at the time). Sounds more to me like someone wanting to say the right thing on a TV show their current partner, who they are currently trying to work things out with, might hear in a week or two. If they were like "yeah, girl, divorce his ass" they might have gotten their divorce even quicker. At the time, they were trying to make their marriage work. Co-signing divorce might not have been a good look. Survival inciting kicked in. it wasn't about Kelly at all.
