The TikTok ILLEGAL Fake Dentist Scam...

Ойындар

Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! While I've covered TikTok trends in the past, today is a trend known as the "Veneer Tech" trend where creators are selling courses to get people started in an illegal line of work and selling services that should be shut down as they'll do nothing but put lives at serious risk. Thanks for watching!

This is so unsurprising. I work for a hearing aid manufacturer and recently, they opened up the laws to allow for over-the-counter products with the goal of introducing stuff from companies, like Bose or Sennheiser, instead you see all these really terrible Chinese drop shipped amplifiers all over Facebook and stuff now. I don’t want to name the brand but one brand even got in trouble in Vermont because they sold these Chinese amplifiers to children and Medicaid I believe did have to pay for speech therapy for several because their speech was screwed up. It’s frustrating that these types of charges are not covered by insurance and that’s the case even in countries with social medicine like you said.

@@Treevors30 bud I went through the same issue , my root was not fully dead when they mechanically ground it out of it my molar. Gold is less likely rejected than porcelain, the human body and our immune system is less likely to have a negative reaction to gold. Porcelain teeth shatter , while gold can only deform , it will never fragment into pieces , I have multiple gold molars now due to my poor dental hygiene as an early teen. Just saying , and my teeth are worth their weight in gold , and they're solid gold. Plus idk how many times you have been hospitalized, but my body is extremely tolerant/resistant to all anesthetics and pain killers , I felt everything when I had a spinal tap and a bone marrow biopsy , so I feel your pain . Unfortunately I just can't seem to benefit from local anesthesia, I have to have general anesthesia for me to not feel anything . I had an endoscopy in which they shoved a camera down my esophagus and I woke up because they used laughing gas instead of general anesthesia

Muta is so right about dental work being dangerous. My mom spent nearly a week in the ER in critical condition because she developed osteomyelitis from all of the dental work she had been having over the past few years. We know this because the infectious disease specialist cultured her bacteria and it was a strain that was very common in peoples' throats (I can't remember the name off the top of my head). Take your dental hygiene seriously, always ask for antibiotics after any procedure where you're getting cut (assuming they don't give them to you automatically), and DEFINITELY make sure the person you're trusting with your life is well-trained and accountable.

Also people with bad teeth or an abscess because of a bad tooth can cause heart problems. I can imagine with veneer when badly done or not taken care of (not going to check ups at least one time a year) can get dangerous. The endless circle of healthcare in the US: People should just "go get a job". People who are poor can't afford dentistry. "Remember your smile is your tool for interviews.". Person does not get the job, any of them. Someone unscrupulous or possibly desperate starts a "business" and preys on others struggling. People should just go get a job, but not an illegal or scam job. There are mostly scam jobs available, and everyone is fighting over the few actual legit jobs out there. People can't afford dentistry, and the hiring department expects robot level looks, behavior and strength. For insanely low pay. People in need of dentistry get turned down. Circle starts again.

People falling for these scam jobs will fall for anything, if it's not dentistry it's herablife, or whatever health craze is currently going on. What I see day to day is all these people at our facility (we hire a ton) the main problem is they just don't show up. All the people complaining about how "no one will give me a job' - are the same ones that can't be bothered to show up, coincidentally these are usually the same people who have terrible credit, and can't understand the concept of "actions have consequences". If you think people aren't getting hired "because of their teeth " -- then you might be on the same level of intelligence as the people falling for this veneer scam.

German dental care is pretty good and partially or completely covered by health care, depending on its necessity as well as the complexity (e.g: root canals). The things that aren't covered at all are veneers, crowns, and certain types of fillings. Those are cosmetic and not considered vital for dental health. Yearly checkups and regular fillings are completely covered by health care. You also get a stamp book. You get a stamp for each yearly visit, and once the book is full, you can get a discount or even a free dental procedure of your choice. Of course, you have to be good about going to the dentist every year. Some dentists give two stamps per visit. Honestly, rather spend 5 years collecting stamps than destroying your teeth with Temu veneers that were stuck on by someone in a hair salon.

Yeah, kind of the same in belgium. I go 2 times a year for check-ups / cleaning and it's also payed by health care (included when they need to fill a small hole) BUT no stamp collection thing! wtf 😁 i want stamps!

@kenn_foxx5563 Ask your dentist about a stamp book! You never know. It's optional. But you have to ask for it. The stamps can be put by any dentist, as long as it's only once a year.

I don’t get how banning TikTok would change anything when other platforms have the same “content”. There were many genuine (sketch & digital artists, painters, musicians etc.) that I followed that was honestly a great way to pass time but on the other end there was what you call a: “WHO WHAT WHY AND HOW WOULD ANYONE THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA” degeneracy. Only thing I can agree on is the privacy concerns which yea ban it.

The real problem is that the venner's shouldn't cost so much for porcelain, ceramics, and a bunch of resins. 400$ and upwards per teeth? the cost alone makes it out of reach for 99% of the people. no wonder people are desperate. if a venner for a tooth costs as much as iphone then we can agree that's crazy. Hopefully 3d printing makes it affordable in the future.

It was literally cheaper to get my wisdoms done than buy a television at La Serena. Unbelievable. In the US, my dentist literally said it would be $500 per wisdom removal, not including xray, cleaning, medication, and "aftercare". I cant stand US doctors.

I work at an Orthodontist office in Chicago area and we see this a lot. People getting “ garage braces “ some sets have been pretty good, most are god awful. True danger is when you get any of these major procedures done, a lot of things can happen to your teeth, gums, or general mouth area and only a dentist will be truly able to notice and treat them. If you go to someone who is not a dentist for this not only are you getting subpar service at best, you’re also not getting any of the damage control that could happen due to these procedures
