Love the idea that your most expensive watch should be your daily driver. Makes sense. Make the thing you use the most the best thing
I very much agree with Mark's point that your everyday watch is your most expensive watch. I love dress watches but I never understood how someone can spend 3k on a Tudor to wear everyday and 30k on a Patek just to wear once a month or even less than that.

I wholeheartedly agree.
I agree completely with Mark on that everyday watch should be most expensive. I newer understood paying lot of money for a thing you use rarely.

I’m with Nora on the two tone and jewellery . A two tone goes with gold silver and platinum jewellery. Like she says she doesn’t have to have two watches to the accommodate this. I have a two tone JLC Reverso , needless to say I don’t wear it every day!
This was fun. Three different watches, but I can see the reasons why each of you chose them as your everyday. I also like your concept for an everyday being what you’ve put the most effort into.
Cole is such a cool guy. All of the articles I've read of his shows he's always looking for the next adventure. He'd be cool to have a beer with.
I think you are right, your everyday watch needs to speak to you be the watch you can’t wait to put on. For me the Aqua Terra is that watch.
Enjoyed the video. I like Mark's pick and his philosophy - wear your best watch everyday. I am just beginning to upgrade my collection and I wear my best watch everyday - a Glycine Combat Sub. Good looking, comfortable on the wrist, well made, keeps excellent time and very robust. My upgrade pick for an ideal everyday watch would be a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 or a Tudor Black Bay 58.

My everyday watch is a VC Overseas with silver dial. It just always works and I love that I never have to think about which watch to wear.

Mark, I couldn’t agree with you more. If I ever get a dress watch (I don’t wear them often), it would be less expensive than my daily. I am willing to pay more for the watch I experience the most on my wrist…
I really liked Mark’s description of an everyday watch - wear what you want and it should be your most expensive one. For me, Rolex GMT Batman on Jubilee. You don’t need anything else. You have your time and date. You can time things with the bezel or know a different time zone. And with the jubilee it gives you not only the casual cool look but you can easily dress it up.

Hard to argue with the Batgirl, great looking watch. Thank you for watching -Mark
I'm not so sure about wearing my best watch every day. When I go out and dig in the yard and move rocks and cut trees, my Vostock Scuba Dude is on my wrist, not my Omega Seamster or Bremont MBII. I tend to rotate through my watches daily and seldom wear one two days in a row (unless I am traveling and have taken with me only a few). Good vid. Keep at it!
Really enjoyed the video! My everyday watch is a Tudor Glamour Double Date in 42mm, so it can fit my relatively big wrist. It combines everything I wanted in an everyday watch. Simple layout, big date, bracelet, lumed hands, in-house calibre, 100WR with screw down crown so I can take it for a swim and a price that won’t get me riled up everytime I see a new scratch. Also, the fact that no one knows about this watch, makes it even more attactive to my eyes. Cheers!

I can't agree more about the Glamour Double Date, I have the white/silver dial, small seconds version with the blue hands and markers. A cracking watch for the price and like you if it get's the odd scratch it's down to the journey and not the price. It adds character in my humble opinion. I'm happy to wear it daily or in rotation. I love that it flies under the radar for such a COSC time piece..

Great selections for your everyday watch, excellent video Mark! I loved your guests. I agree, wear the watch everyday, don’t leave it in a safe. I wear a minimum of 2 watches per day, all of mine are worn, otherwise, time to part with it. I rotate 12 watches out of my collection all the time. All mechanicals never sit more than 4-5 weeks without being worn or wound, better for the movement. Sometimes I wear a watch on both wrists to enjoy them that much more.

Great segment and excited to see the rest. I really liked Marks reasoning behind his pick. My collection has grown to a 5 pieces but I just wear what I’m feeling that day. I believe as you’re getting into the hobby you should look and try on different types of watches to find what you like, also maybe use inexpensive quartz watches too, but as you grow as a collector just buy what you want if you you have a Patek and you’re just wearing jeans and a t shirt but you want to wear that Patek, just wear it.

I have a three watch collection: Omega Seamaster 300m (2017) Omega Speedmaster Professional Seiko SKX007 Both Omega watches serve weekend or dress. The Seiko SKX007 is my everyday watch. Nothing shocking - and most would say predictable and boring, but I don't really see why I need anything else. Those three to me are the ultimate collection.

I have a small collection of 5 watches on rotation, they are very different styled watches but all sport watches as I do not find a need for a dress watch. In my opinion they are all capable of being an everyday watch.
@jaysterling26
2 жыл бұрын
I think the idea of a dress watch is on the verge of obsolescence, perhaps the recent situation has killed it off. Wearing a suit (!) one can 'get away' with wearing a suitable diver e.g. Oris 65. Some situations it could be not the done thing to wear any watch ; or just buy a squre solar Seiko.
Price of the Dynamic just went up.
Although my Tudor BB58 is my daily, I find the Hamilton Khaki is probably the best daily watch. Dress it up with a leather, throw it on a bracelet, a Nato, beat it up (its not expensive at all) take it to work, and change straps as often as you want with those drilled lugs. Like a poor man's Rolex Explorer, it's just neutral enough to go with anything. People wonder why watch lovers like boring watches and its probably because they're a blank slate; you can dress it up to go with everything
@CrownandCaliber

Both those watches are some of the best in the price bracket they come from. I always recommend to first time watch buyers to check out the Hamilton. -Mark
Thank you Cole for highlighting MY everyday watch! It’s rare and forgotten (?) but for me (with small wrist) it’s just perfect! If I had a lot of money to spend, I wouldn’t mind having the VC as a daily driver though…;)

Terrific episode!
Very cool episode and panel 👏
I have to say, that Panthere just might be one of the coolest watches of all time.
Wow, an Omega Dynamic!!! I had never heard of that particular model, but it is very cool. Thank you to all three of you, this was an excellent video and I will be looking forward to the next two.
I remember always liking the Dynamic and seeing a lot of pictures online of it. Only now do I see in the video that at certain angle you can see the bubbled numbering. I really got to see the watch shine here. I was curious about prices as I saw these go for $1200USD in the last few years (maybe 3?). Now they're at like $2300USD. The ship seems to be taking off!
Just got that same VC 56 but in silver. Will be an everyday watch too so I couldn’t agree more.
Currently an Unimatic U1-D but hopefully an Omega Speedmaster Racing Master Co-axial soon..

Quartz is cool. As long as it's not cheap junk Quartz. My Seiko Flightmaster has a Meca-Quartz in it. Really cool.
As far as the Panthere is concerned, I think all Panthere have a quartz movement. I always wondered, why Cartier wouldn‘t use a hand wound movement. The Omega Dynamic is stunning. The hands almost look like they are made from wood.
I currently have a 3 watch collection that consists of: Omega SMP300m black dial 🌊 Omega PO blue dial 🌊 Omega Speedy Racing white dial 🏁 My next watch is a Rolex DJ 36mm 👍

I am with you Mark, my everyday watch is the most expensive one in my collection and that is the 38mm black dial Omega Aqua Terra. A robust highly accurate 150m WR, and Metas certification makes it ideal especially with our highly magnetic environment.

@jaysterling26

Did Patek really made a quartz watch? I didn’t think so
Video Editor: it would so good if you would put the watch in question up in a smaller corner or side box while it is being discussed. The watch flashes up so fast and then I watch these people talking about it when I don’t know what it looks like. It would be much nicer if I could see it the entire time they discuss it. Just my 2 cents.

Seriously?! A Cartier two-tone as an everyday watch ! 😳 What kind of day is that ? 🤦♂️ ... and if it’s your everyday watch, the power reserve of an automatic would not empty that easily. So why quartz. 🤔

How much did you pay for this? Zero. Stop insulting a fine man and a free product.
Ordinarily I enjoy Mark's videos, but he took all of the air out of the room. He spoke roughly twice as much as those being interviewed for their watch picks, which struck me as really overbearing. You'd think that he'd allow those who picked a watch the space to speak to why they actually chose it. Instead we listened to Mark opine on why the choice was a good one.
Dressing well enhances the watch. The guy in the purple shirt needs styling tips. Watch real men real style KZread. Not being mean, just an idea.
My everyday is a Daytona. Why the hell wouldn’t I wear a Daytona if I’m blessed enough to own one. This is just c&c trying to move slow moving watches. This is a commercial to move bullshit inventory at a premium. Quartz has no place in any collection when you can get so many nice mechanicals under $2000.

Sure- AGREED!! wear whatever u wanna wear at any moment! The sentiment is seminal to my desire for a one watch, like Arnold Palmer…I do not bother to postulate the channel motives, i am just glad to pass some time and admire watches i might not ever see in middle-of-nowhere :^) the problem with whittling down from my modest five (g-shock,fitbit, air(white fleger dial)/land(olive field dial)/sea(tropical vintage w diving bezel) is that i see timepieces as tools and i could, at this time, be content with an Omega X-33 (first gen preferably)…lightweight titanium tool box. Digital/Dependable…but i doubt i will ever make that decision to orphan the collection that is so comfortable…thanks for taking the time to post and get the wheels rolling ha ha
