This was a pilot to a series that never aired, but it featured a cartoon included which were in the Public Domain. That show never took off, and it lasted only one episode.

They did another unsold pilot with both live action and animation called Stooge Time a few years earlier that didn’t sell either

Unnecessary re-edit of the theatrically released version of the "haunted house" segment of the unsold television pilot. When it didn't sell, it was split into two parts and released to theaters as one-reel specials. The second part (not seen here) includes the Stooges at the television station along with a cartoon. The live-action and animated bits edited into this by someone for whatever reason are just lifted from the later 1965 television series THE NEW THREE STOOGES . Much of this unsold pilot footage was worked into the opening scenes of THE 3 STOOGES IN ORBIT, with some reshooting to help frame the newer storyline. Glimpses of the original cartoon can also be seen and heard along with the original laughtrack.

I’m glad that they didn’t sell the pilot. I think the boys looked scary in my opinion.

Curly Joe DeRita was my favorite 3rd stooge. I would have loved to see them get a TV series.
