I'm reading a lot of comments discussing how inspiring and calming this piece feels, but to me, listening makes me feel like I'm watching opportunities pass me by, sort of like I'm watching other people live the life I wished I lived. It's so interesting how different music can be interpreted, depending on our own different circumstances, our mood, our current perspective on life etc. The same piece I find calm and comforting on a particular day can be an expression of my heartaches on a another day.

As a composition student, I'm very impressed of Eddy's incredibly mature style of composition, he really likes to add some really lushful colours while still being very intimate and fragile(Brett nails this type of playing, which is the case here). Is almost like someone speaking to themself, reflecting on their past actions and slowly discovering more about themself. Well done Eddy and Brett! I'm definitely looking foward to more of your art! :)

On behalf of the piano gang, I must thank you Eddy, for not only composing a piece which has the piano playing, but not relegating the piano part of this wonderful piece to the role of an accompanist. Too often I’ve heard pieces where the piano part is repetitive, uninteresting, or even just a blurred-out sound effect, simply put there to make the violin sound better. It means a lot that Eddy, primarily a violinist, made the piano part fun to play too - I would love the sheet music for this. Hope your “feelings” are good ones man, and if not, that they get better.

brett plays the violin part so beautifully. there are so many colours, he tells this complex, beautiful, layered story through his playing, there's both lightness and heaviness, sorrow and bliss, and there's this dialogue... i associate the style of the piece more with eddy's playing, but what brett makes of it is stunning and it works so well. i can only imagine that eddy told him what the thought of us meant and that he understood it perfectly. whoever "us" is, brett is empathetic to eddy's feelings and musical expression and this is something i love.

In their current concert programs there are two pieces that Eddy composed: (Violin Charades and the Scal Piece). He is being a very humble person, I assume he does not feel his 'more serious' pieces would measure up with the pieces of other composers, yet. (Actually they do.) Seeing how much their concert programs changed from the 2017/18 tour to the 2023/24 tour - getting much more serious - I hope for the next season he gets more confidence to performe more of his compositions.

I enjoyed this piece more than anything Jordan has written for twoset. I think sometimes Jordan’s music can sound too traditional, like it was written in the romantic period. But this piece, it’s still very digestible and beautiful, but you can tell it’s modern. I like that. When I want to listen to new classical music, I don’t want something that sounds like older classical music. I want something more modern while still being accessible. Eddy’s piece fits that description.

For me, this feels like when you and a loved one are falling apart, and all your memories turn from being happy ones to sad/nostalgic. Also, it kinda feels like when you realise you are in love with a person you cant have. This piece makes my heart ache, Im feeling so lonely this days and this somehow managed to express everything Ive been feeling lately. Loved it

this song feels very transparent to me like it will take on the color of the listener it skirts right down line of sounding pained and peaceful, bright and sorrowful. i feel like every time i come back to this piece it sounds different depending on my mood. the first time i heard it, like a few weeks ago, it felt kind of mournful and the violin sounded like it was crying this time the piece sounds hopeful and like the violin is just talking really cool that a piece can evoke such a wide range of emotions very well done eddy on the comp! and very very well done brett n eddy for the beautiful performance:D

It's a very late reply but I just want to answer your question. This flower is fuchsia. It is a both sex flower(if that makes sense), usually growing in pairs in the leaf axils at the top of the stem, like two lovers who will never separate, so the flower language is to believe in love. In addition, the flower color is mostly red or purple, giving people a warm feeling, so the flower language is also a flaiming heart. It means to be bold and not afraid of taking risks, and to pursue love bravely.

If words could describe this piece, then I would say that it sounds like the melancholy of a cold rainy morning in autumn, the stillness of nature resting during winter, the longing and hoping for the arrival of the first spring day and finally the peace felt when watching a sunset during a warm summer evening. Thank you, Eddy and Brett, for this sheer beautiful composition and playing.

This is such a ...beautiful piece, it paints emotions really well. I can feel a wide range of it, something sad, something longing, something reminiscing like a journey looking back, the things that 'we' went through and then a conclusion that is unanswered. Which makes it feel like there is something still ahead. I don't know what you have been through but you really manage to evoke emotions throughout and I am so happy that you lay it out into beautiful melody and share with us. Thank you Eddy and Brett wonderful playing!

I've listened to this piece countless times since it was released, but it took me a while to formulate my thoughts on it. Every time I listen to it, I feel a sweet melancholy. It's something in between nostalgia and regret towards the past, combined with some hints of hesitancy, but also a bright hope towards the future. That's the best way to express the feelings it makes me feel.

Woah❤️ peaceful and blissful. I imagine myself sitting at my childhood hunting camp, just a light rain hitting the tin roof, while the fire crackles providing enough warmth to help heat the camp up. It’s cloudy and dreary, but yet it’s peaceful and the leaves falling around outside somehow bring out a dreary warmth. And all is good in the world, family is together, there is a warm fire, and I’m home. Before families grow apart and people pass away. Everything is whole. Not many compositions really bring me back in time like that. This was beautiful!!!!

This is such a lovely piece. While listening to it, it felt as if I'm reading a story about a pair of long lost soul mates finally being able to meet after years of not being so. This piece evokes a sense of nostalgia and reminds me of a somewhat of a studio ghibli flim. I love this take! The piece definitely feels nostalgic even on the first listen. I think Brett and Eddy are soulmates - to me, soulmates aren't necessarily romantic partners but people that have a deep, unspoken connection to each other. I can see them staying best friends until the end.

  • @yumeko5922

@@area51l haha yes! My mind was dancing around the idea on how the beginning was about a pair of soul mates looking back on their time together. As the piece progess to it's climax, the violin playing as well as the piano gets stronger as well as if their bonds suddenly clicks together and fall into place to create this beautiful harmony. The music then slowly fades back as it returns to the present as two people spend their day drinking coffee/bbt perhaps thinking abt 'ah how I wish to go back in time' hence the melancholy vibes. I might be reading too much into this since I'm not a musician. 😅 I agree that even friendships can take the form as something as beautiful as soul mates. Everything has it's place at a certain time and so do soulmates. The unchangeable bonds that can bring people together that wld last for a lifetime regardless of any relationship.

Then you wonder 'what if I spent more time with them? Then perhaps we cld have been tgt.' Basically just a bunch of regret for not grabbing the opportunities when it passed by until it's too late.
