Something to note about perkeo duping: after n triggers, starting with exactly the two cards you wanna copy, and not selling, there's a 1/n+1 chance that you still haven't duped your target (2/n that you still haven't duped one of them). (it's a clean lil' telescoping series, missing immolate is a 1/2*2/3*3/4*...n/n+1 = 1/n+1). So I guess using up your bonus cryptids between rounds sends you from 1/7 to a 1/4*1/4 =1/16. Pretty big deal...

really more a comment on the last part (ive been thinking about this all day) but do you think it's possibler you were over valuing tarot cards? wouldn't holding two non negative spectrals and taking only one tarot per discard with a higher chance of getting early immolate have been better for the overall run? cosidering the only 3 tarots you were interested in were hermit, temperance and hanged man, even selling death cards. happy to be told i'm wrong :)

It's definitely a situation where the answer isn't obvious. I think the main thing you're overlooking is the lost value by not copying cryptids. Like the upper cap on the run is the number of cryptids you use + number of playing cards you pick up other ways (boosters + shop). If you get immolate 5 rounds faster, but that means 15 instead of 20 rounds, and you were copying all the garbage spectrals on purpose, you're down 15*N cryptids, N being the number of perkeos in action. Can you make up for 45 cryptids by having the efficiency of immolate instead of using hanged men? Maybe. But it's a gamble.

Did you decide on a different day than today to finish it on twitch? I kept checking after 4pm and never saw you go live 😭😭

I think I've tried it before, and I believe the answer is no. When you have more jokers than spaces, you can no longer add a negative. Maybe he can test it live on stream.

Negative adds a joker slot, but even that's not enough to overcome 7/6, since you'd go to 7 slots trying to fit an eighth joker. 7/6 means a joker must be sold or an ectoplasm/antimatter acquired and/or used before one could buy jokers again.

I have had a negative invisible joker before, and I can tell you the answer is no. So if you get it, wait until you absolutely have to sell it before using it.

Wouldn´t familiar or incantation have been a lot better for this challenge than cryptid, sure the cards arent what you want, but if youre going to destroy them anyway, what does that matter?

Long term, you want to have Cryptid because it allows you to break the hand size limit and allow you to survive scenarios you wouldn't otherwise. If you live longer (possibly all the way to Ante 39), you have more rounds to generate more Spectrals (and but natural Hanged Man from the shop). In the short term, before Immolate is found, it could have been worthwhile to generate a mix of Cryptids and Familiar, before switching to only Cryptids later. However. Even though we will remove the bad cards "eventually," that task is non-trivial may take time. As demonstrated at the end of the video, we have 100 more cards than we have the ability to remove. Luckily, those 100 extra cards are "good" cards rather than random trash.
