    I love how Tac was animated like a ragdoll throughout the whole thing. Plus, the skintone change was a nice lil detail. It threw me for a loop at first, since I'm so used to characters staying the same shade, regardless of what happens to them, but I like the little touch of realism it gave this crazy, stylized world. I will admit, however, I didn't realize Tac was a human at first. The way he was animated, the ghostly pale skin, the tacs in his mouth, and all the supplies falling out of his pockets. It seriously made me think he was some sort of reanimated doll or robot. Especially with the added context that one of the characters was a bright shade of blue.

    I remember watching the MiraMax version once and hearing that the Recobbled cut is the best version because it has all the detailed to the scenes and makes it sound like a real movie. However, at times, I wanna say how I was more interested with this film than Aladdin. Yet, Aladdin still had the iconic Genie but The Thief and the Cobbler has it’s own charm, which makes it a classic underrated gem

  • @Qrsonait

    @Qrsonait

    Exactly :D!! I feel like if they were able to finish this movie and just didn't copy the idea by making Aladdin, it would've been more iconic, but since Miramax just tried to finish it, they took away and added scenes that just gave away the charm the movie originally had, making the movie not do so well :(

    Well this and Aladdin are basicly as someone put it "animation inbreeding" The work for Cobbler went on so long it actually inspired bits of Aladdin, which was then released...and inspired parts of Cobbler (or at least the Arabian Knight cut) because again Cobbler was still being made/edited.

Just walk up the stairs, grab the balls, and I’ll be in bed by 8” Unwavering, yet unfounded confidence 😂 There’s also the added comedic element of Zigzag believing himself a mastermind for his plan to steal the golden balls when the only reason that occurs to him in the first place is because the Thief has already stolen them, but bungled the getaway

    Seriously. The father has his hand in the tent with the concubine in it so non-chalantly. This was my absolute favorite growing up. I loved Yum-Yum. I always thought Jasmine as a discount Yum-Yum cause of what lengths Yum-Yum went to for her empire. She literally risked herself to help protect it from danger. Both had wanted to make a difference, Yum-Yum actually went out to do so, not just go to the bazaar.

    This movie is so good. The dynamic of a servant boy loving a princess isn't used much. The character designs too for the time. They're simple, Yum-Yum made to look like an idea beauty and Tack being a sick pale color then getting better skin as the story goes on. The villain and Visuals too. I enjoy this movie sm

    I don't know if anyone will care as much as I do but I noticed that the music throughout many of the scenes is Scheherazade!!! I noticed it when Tack was in the prison and it makes me unbelievably happy. The whole concept was so charming :)) edit: Many of the scenes used pre-existing orchestral pieces, this is so fun
