As well as heavy being able to murder a mother bear without effort at all.(and btw a bear is 6 times stronger than a human) a bear and can rip someone's head off by slapping it) medic being able to revive the dead and outsmart the literal devil. demo having so much alcohol in his bloodstream it would kill a vampire. and the team being able to destroy an army of evil robots (which is cannon to the story btw) you already know they picked the best of the best.

M B don't forget Scout is literally God's gift to the mortal world, Soldier can't die because of the pills he stole from Merasmus, Demo is a walking distillery, Engineer is able to cheat death with all the machines he's made for the Mann Brothers, and they all have magic on their side thanks to the books Merasmus gave them. Overall, the Mercs are unstoppable and no other fictional characters can reach their level of insanity and effort to do what they do best.

To be fair, sniper's gun deals a LOT more damage. I think you should've compared charge to damage rates, more specifically: how much does a gun have to charge to deal the same amount of damage? Sniper deals 450 damage in Tf2 already, if converted to overwatch, it deals 720 damage. Sniper might have a longer charge, but a fully charged headshot from him could instakill ALL of Overwatch's tanks. Widowmaker deals less than half of that. Sniper's rifle would deal 240 damage on headshot when uncharged, and would barely even have to charge his gun half-way to deal the same amount of damage as widowmaker when fully charged. Long-story-short. If you tested how long it would take for both guns to deal a 300 damage headshot, they would be roughly the same, but Sniper's can go FAR beyond that. It's kinda like comparing a PSG-1 to a M82. The PSG is faster, but the M82 uses the highest caliber for a sniper rifle available.

i think it would have been worth looking into the percentage of classes/heroes that they could each kill in one shot with a headshot, for both quickscopes and fully charged for example sniper can kill 56% of classes in one shot with a quickscoped headshot (scout, medic, sniper, engi, and spy) and 100% with a fully charged idk what widowmakers numbers would be but i know that overwatch has some chonky bois so i would presume it'd be considerably lower

@Brian Treves Yep, but the constant resistance is only with stock/Enthusiast's Timepiece/Quäckenbirdt. It was a buff a while ago (since Gun Mettle, apparently). From wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Invis_Watch: "While cloaked, the Spy receives 20% less damage from all sources. In addition, while the Spy is invisible, status effects (eg: Jarate, bleed, afterburn) will have reduced duration." So, if you see a spy cloak after getting burned, they're (possibly) not as dumb as you think. The Dead Ringer also has damage resistance while cloaked but it's variable.

I love how all of TF2’s characters have way more personality than every hero in Overwatch, despite the amount of lore and cinematic shorts they have.

The Machina for Sniper has tracer rounds. But, it also does have penetration.

I feel like some people are forgetting that health in overwatch works kinda different, some heroes have massive hp pools (>300) while other have armour. but hey, overwatch bad so who knows

Quickscopes would deal 240 damage, and less than a second of charge to deal over 300, and fully charged would deal 720 (basically one shot anyone) In practical gameplay sniper would be way stronger than widow in raw damage output

Widow's gun is kinda like combination of Machina and SMG Both have shot tracers Both have futuristic design with dark colours And also Machina can give Sniper a little bonus to his DPS! Think about this

Honestly, I think the reason is that Overwatch characters are a lot better equipped than TF2 characters often are, while TF2 characters are a lot more skilled. Widowmaker has a supply of venom bombs, high-power infared sniper goggles, a grappling hook built into her suit and a combination carbine/sniper rifle that fires special rounds charged with whatever gives it the tracer effect. Stock sniper has a knife, an smg and a regular sniper rifle with a scope attached. The fact he's keeping pace at all is impressive in itself.

The main difference between Widow and Sniper isn’t their minimum kill potential, but maximum. A sniper can kill a Heavy under normal conditions with 1 shot no matter what if he has enough time to charge, while Widow takes at least 2 (I think) headshots to kill someone such as Reinhardt

I like sniper much better though. Snipers shots just feel so much more powerful, as they actually make a difference vs the tanks that require 3+ shots to kill. It just feels more satisfying to get a headshot with sniper rather than widowmaker.

Huh, interesting. Sniper feels a lot more powerful to me, but then again I haven't played Overwatch much. My best gues is that in Overwatch you have specific class roles like tanks which can take much more damage in comparison to the rest. In TF2 all classes are very close to each other health wise exept heavy. And even then, soldier and demo move slower and are therfore easier to hit. And not to mention these thrice damned bloody shields.

The reason Sniper feels more powerful is that he deals far more damage than Widowmaker and other snipers in Overwatch. If converted to OW, and uncharged headshot would deal 240 damage and a charged headshot would deal 720. If Sniper was in Overwatch, he could take out any opponent, including tanks with a single fully charged shot. But considering tanks in OW only have 600 health, he wouldn't even need to charge his shots fully.

When you finish with the others, it would be interesting to see a quick (or not so quick :) ) huntsman snoiper vs Hanzo video I love this series

I'm fairly certain the zoom-in headshot delay statistic is referring to a mechanic built into every sniper rifle where the Sniper cannot deal headshots for the first fraction of a second of being zoomed in. Essentially, you have to wait 0.2 seconds after scoping in to be able to do a headshot. As seen on the TF2 Wiki, in the February 14, 2008 patch: "Added a delay (200 ms) before a zoomed Sniper shot can get a critical hit."

Widowmaker’s rifle is a semi-automatic burst fire rifle though, as it charges it shoots more bullets per shot; while Sniper has a single round bolt-action rifle. Of course Widow will win in DPS but in terms of raw firepower and how strong each rifle is, I think that’s what ultimately matters more. Sniper would be able to quickscope Widow using your numbers and decimate OW characters with longer charger shots, something I don’t think Widow would be able to do on the inverse.

A skilled TF2 sniper can straight up double his dps if he uses the Bazaar Bargain. It has a slow charge rate at first but it increases by 25% for every headshot kill. Once at its maximum of six headshot kills, the Bazaar Bargain's recharge rate is twice as fast as stock. This is the go to sniper rifle to use if you get headshot kills efficiently and die rarely. A straight upgrade to stock when in the right hands.

Anyone remember that bit in tf2 vs overwatch where sniper and widomaker are missing the whole episode

you might be able to consider the oneshot-potential. As where in Overwatch all of the Characters have alot of Health and theres multiple who cant be killed with one headshot. ty 4 the nice videos ! : >

Honistly, I find Ashe more similar in game play to the TF2's sniper than Widdowmaker. Something about the way Widdowmaker and the sniper feel is just... off. It might just be the fact that Ashe's gun feels like an actual gun while Widdowmaker's feels like a peashooter. Also you absolutely should do an episode of Huntsman vs Hanzo.

It's so satisfying to get a headshot with sniper because of that hit sound "bling" and the firing sound combinet with the death animation of the enemy

Actually, there is a setting in TF2 that makes it so you don't un-scope between shots. So that killstreak point doesn't hold up as well.

I wonder if Sniper's Sniper Rifle would be a viable sidegrade for Widowmaker. Yes, it fires much much slower, but it has a much higher damage ceiling. It would also be interesting to see the "time to death" for various classes/heroes. Assuming perfect accuracy, how quickly could Widowmaker kill a Heavy, and how quickly could Sniper kill the big tanks?

Sniper's from Australia/New Zeland. He's dealt with bigger spiders.

Toofty, at 7:40 did you take into account the crit delay on sniper? There is a 0.2 second delay between the instant you scope and when your shot starts charging. An uncharged shot, even to the head, will deal 50 dmg.
